The schools and the real estate must have checked out OK.

According to Brian Smith of the Houston Chronicle, the Texans’ anticipated contract for quarterback Brian Hoyer is now final, with Hoyer getting a two-year, $10.5 million deal.

Hoyer tried to pump the brakes on the deal before it was done, saying he wanted to visit before committing to anything (which might help keep the Texans off double secret probation).

But now there’s no reason for pretense, as he’s delivered, and ready to compete with Ryan Mallett for the starting job, and clearing the decks for Ryan Fitzpatrick to be traded to the Jets.
