Stevie Johnson to visit Pats on Monday

Stevie

The Patriots have lost cornerback Darrelle Revis to the Jets. So it makes sense that the Patriots would be interested in a receiver who traditionally has had good luck against Revis.

PFT has confirmed multiple reports that Johnson will visit the Patriots on Monday.

Johnson was cut by the 49ers on Thursday, and he visited the Chargers on Friday.

Per a league source, the Jets also have interest in Johnson, which makes sense given that his former coach in Buffalo is now the offensive coordinator of the Jets.

The visit was first reported by Diana Marie Russini of NBC 4 in Washington, and confirmed by Ian Rapoport of NFL Media. Rapoport’s failure to credit Russini for having it first prompted her to remark “really dude?” on Twitter, which in turn prompted Rapoport to suggest arm wrestling to resolve the grievance.

Which leads to two observations. First, I’m glad there’s a media squabble on Twitter involving someone other than me. Second, I’ve got $100 on Russini.
