James Brewer is staying in the New York-New Jersey area, but not with his old club.
Brewer, an offensive lineman who played the last four seasons for the Giants, has signed a deal with the Jets, the team said Thursday.
Brewer (6-6, 330) appeared in 26 games for the Giants, making eight starts, the bulk of which came at guard. He can also play tackle. Brewer is likely to compete for one of the Jets’ reserve OL roles.
An Indiana product, Brewer was a fourth-round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
