Darren Sharper cuts plea deals in two of his four rape cases

On a day when rape charges were filed against him in Las Vegas, former NFL safety Darren Sharper filed plea deals in New Orleans and Los Angeles.

Of course, that leaves Arizona on his world tour of sexual assault charges.

According to the New Orleans Advocate, the pleas will be filed Monday, and appear to be part of a global plea deal to resolve all the charges against him.

Authorities in Los Angeles said they wouldn’t comment until Monday, and a spokesman for Orleans Parish District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro said only that an agreement has been reached.

Sharper has been jailed in Los Angeles since his January, 17, 2014 arrest there.

  29. He probably plead the charges down to a misdemeanor and will get probation and a fine. That is what money does for people. Puts them above where everyone else sits in the eyes of the law.

  32. I’m guessing 2 years max. The financial damages will be settled in civil suits. It’s upsetting that we don’t get a trial. The DA could get 20 years if they had confidence in themselves and their witnesses.

    I don’t understand his choices. But the arrogance for him to think he’d be able to get away with it while staying in country is his downfall. Just like Tom Petters, if he’d fled the country to a non-extradition country, he could have lived out the rest of his life spending his millions as a free man.

    This goes hand in hand with Aaron Hernandez’ arrogance.

  42. Rape in Louisiana is a possible death sentence. What the hell kind of plea deal will remove that? I guess the high dollar mouth-pieces can work wonders.

  46. Rape is not committed for the sex. Generally, it is committed to totally dominate another person. Because of that, the desire to rape is not satisfied with a volunteer hooker who is play acting.

  54. Watch this joke is going to get like 6 months and 3 years probation. Which here in Cali you get x2 for time served so when he signs the Plea he will be released. Which is nothing! These idiots get blessed with a life that we could only dream of and then just turn out to be complete dirt bags! 4 Rape charges? Come on we all know that is only the amount that came forward I bet there are a ton more than that. He needs a minimum of 10 years. Its screwed they get less time cuz who they are.

    IS there any word yet on how much Jerry Jones and the Cowboys have offered Sharper to go play in Dallas?

    Cause once the “plea deals” are done and these things are dismissed that means he went through the Justice System and was found everything is OK now right?

    Oh that’s just the tip of the iceberg man! There were like 2 or 3 other defensive ends and I’m pretty sure 2 other running backs and one other all arrested on Domestic Violence in the last 6-7mos.

    Then I don’t even know how many drug and/or DUI arrests.

    A few weapons arrests.

    And like 2 animal cruelty arrests.

    I don’t know man! The only thing that gets me is people are actually shocked.

  65. Still a Hall of Fame lock. His off field behavior has exactly zero to do with judging his football career’s merits. One of the best safeties ever.
