Seahawks add Dwaine Board, Chris Cash, Andre Curtis to coaching staff

The Seattle Seahawks have made three new additions to their coaching staff.

Dwaine Board rejoins Seattle’s coaching staff as an assistant defensive line coach. Board served as defensive line coach for the Seahawks for six seasons (2003-08) on Mike Holmgren’s staff.

In addition, the team has hired Chris Cash and Andre Curtis as assistant secondary coaches. Cash will work with the cornerbacks while Curtis will focus on the safeties.

The addition of Board helps replace the loss of Dan Quinn, who took the Atlanta Falcons head coaching job this offseason. Cash and Curtis provide assistance in the secondary after Kris Richard was promoted to defensive coordinator to replace Quinn.

Board spent two seasons each with the Oakland Raiders (2009-10) and Cleveland Browns (2011-12). The last two years were spent coaching at St. Francis High in Mountain View, Calif. In Cleveland, he coached new Seahawks signing Ahtyba Rubin.

Cash reunites with Pete Carroll after playing at USC from 2000-01 and he was a second-team All-Pac-10 selection at cornerback his senior season. A sixth-round selection (175th overall) by the Detroit Lions in the 2002 NFL Draft, Cash spent five seasons in the NFL.

Cash began his coaching career at Riverside Community College as secondary coach in 2007. He then spent five seasons (2008-12) at his alma mater, Franklin High School, as defensive coordinator before moving on to Florida A&M to coach safeties for the previous two years.

Curtis joins his fourth NFL team, as he was a defensive quality control coach for the New York Giants from 2006-08, defensive backs/safeties coach for the St. Louis Rams from 2009-11 and assistant secondary coach for the Saints from 2012-14. Prior to the NFL, he coached defensive ends at Georgia Southern (2004-05) and linebackers at his alma mater, Virginia Military Institute, from 2000-03.
