Steelers bring back defensive end Clifton Geathers for a year

The Steelers keep filling in the blanks on defense, hanging onto a guy they signed last year but didn’t use.

They announced that defensive end Clifton Geathers had been re-signed to a one-year contract.

The sixth-year lineman signed with them last December, but he was inactive for all four regular season games and one in the playoffs.

Geathers has bounced through a lot of stops, since he was a sixth-round pick of the Browns in 2010.

He’s also been with the Dolphins, Cowboys, Colts, Eagles and Washington as well.

  2. The Steelers are making all the right moves! Pretty soon they will have a defense good enough to carry Big Ben, and his 15 points of offense in a home playoff game, on its back to a win!

we love our criminals….give us an A

What have you got a Criminal Ray…yea!

Kremis would be proud of you…..mom will be proud. Funny how you forget Ben’s record breaking season…oh wait you were in hiding. Now you cherry pick like a well schooled troll…pathetic.

  5. i love how this offseason is shaping up! for as bad as the haters say we are… all I know is steelers won the afc north title last year! what does that say about your favorite team haters?!!!

  6. Was almost unnoticeable with the Redskins. Not sure why the Pittsburgh team signed him to start with, nor why they are bringing him back.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. Holding onto a division title like you’re a Bengals fan.

My favorite team boot stomped the division champs in the playoffs. That’s what it says about my favorite team. Nothing.

I don’t think we have anyone named Ray on the team anymore. that’d be kind of a silly chant.

  9. Your criminal chant is a sign of someone with no good comeback so comes up with some overplayed old topic. Man up or get at least a little football knowledge so you can have a half decent comment. I could care less about either team but have to call out totally stupid comments

  10. The Steelers demand respect, and you trolls are giving it to us by commenting on a marginal signing like this. You watch our every move because you fear us, it’s proven prey behavior.

  11. Please, Steelers, play this has been. It will increase my Brown’s chances to put a beat down on the black and gold.

  12. This guy may be on his 6th team in 6 years, but how awesome is that? As a 6th round pick he has more than doubled the average NFL player’s number of years in the league. It may be a small success story, but I still think it is pretty cool. They can’t all be Tom Brady in the 6th round.

  13. If he’s good enough, he’s on the roster as depth. Barring injury he won’t see many (any?) snaps. In a beautiful world this means the Cam Thomas experiment is almost over.

  14. Hate on haters. We are still the defending AFN champs. Deal with it.

Take that iamdinguskhan There is a little football knowledge for you
