Ex-NFL player Kwame Harris arrested for DUI, trying to bite a cop

Former 49ers and Raiders offensive tackle Kwame Harris has been arrested and accused of driving under the influence and trying to bite a police officer.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that police say Harris was involved in two hit-and-run crashes while under the influence of drugs, and that he eventually fell asleep in a running vehicle and tried to bite the hand of a responding officer.

Police say someone flagged them down around 7:30 p.m. and told them that a man who was parked halfway in a driveway appeared to need assistance. When police got to the scene they found Harris and attempted to handcuff him, and he responded by trying to bite one of the officers.

Eventually Harris was subdued and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, aggravated assault on an officer, hit-and-run and resisting officers.

In 2013, Harris was sentenced to five days in jail for a misdemeanor domestic violence conviction.
