Report: Stevan Ridley meeting with Washington

AP

Free agent tailback Stevan Ridley is reportedly set to take another visit, this time to an NFC club.

Washington will host Ridley on Tuesday, Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com reported.

The 26-year-old Ridley has recently met with the Jets and Dolphins. He spent his first four NFL seasons with New England, rushing for 2,817 yards and 22 touchdowns on 649 carries and adding 23 catches for 146 yards.

A 25-game starter with New England, Ridley (5-11, 220) would provide depth behind starter Alfred Morris in Washington. Though Ridley has averaged a solid 4.3 yards per rush in his career, he has struggled with fumbling on occasion, and he comes off an ACL tear in October.

  1. That s a productive back. Good luck Ridley. I hope he recovers from that ACL tear. It will be a gamble but the guy was very productive fumbles or not.

  2. Even though he had his issues with the New England team the Redskins would have a nice one two punch at RB if they could sign him.

  3. Now the “awesome” guy oflogicalvoices will say:wooow, best talent in the nfl, better than ap,bell and murray.just come to play for the best qb ever and the team of the future.Super Bowl 50 belongs to the skins!!…

Comeeeeee onnnnn maaaaaan, you say that every single year..the skins will neveeer win a chapionship with that regime and rgIII under center..Mark it!

  4. I wouldn’t pay a lot for any RB. But this kid has serious skill. Amazing he hasn’t found a job yet since someone could probably get him really cheap.

  5. lol, Chip Kelly passed over that useless excuse for a running back for a reason. Ridley should of had surgery to repair his fumblitis. This is why the Deadskins will always suck. Go Eagles!
