One of the better free agents left is slated to take a visit this week.

The Titans will huddle with Rams right tackle Joe Barksdale, Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean reported Tuesday.

Barksdale’s meeting with Tennessee is Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports. The 26-year-old tackle has started 29 games over the last two seasons for St. Louis.

The Titans released right tackle Michael Oher earlier in the offseason. At present, Byron Stingily is the top option to replace Oher, but more competition at the position could still be coming, whether in free agency or the draft.

Barksdale is PFT’s 82nd-ranked free agent. He is the fifth highest-ranked unrestricted free agent still on the market.

  1. Surprised that the Panthers (who desperately need depth at this position) haven’t already signed him. But as a Titans fan, I dig it.

  2. A very competent and underated player. If the Rams lose them they would need a new center, RG, and RT so as a Rams fan I would then fully expect Fisher to draft a D-lineman instead.

I can’t figure out what Fisher is thinking.

Barksdale is an okay tackle but he struggled the last 8 games of the season, Fisher has said that he would like to re-sign Barksdale but he wouldn’t mind upgrading on the position as well. With the Rams picking at 10 they would be able to upgrade on at the position either with Scherff or Collins or trading down a little and taking Flowers, Humphries, or Clemmings who all brings more upsides than Barksdale.
