More than seven years later, each of the five men accused of entering the Miami home of former NFL safety Sean Taylor and fatally shooting him have been determined to be legally responsible for the crime.
Via the Associated Press, Timmy Lee Brown has agreed to spend 18 years in prison for his role in the crime. Only 23 in 2015, Brown was a teenager when Taylor was killed.
Last week, Charles Wardlow pleaded guilty, receiving a 30-year prison term.
Eric Rivera previously was sentenced to 60 years after being convicted of firing the shot that killed Taylor. Jason Mitchell, the alleged mastermind of the burglary, received a life sentence after being convicted last year.
Venjah Hunte was the first defendant to plead guilty, getting 29 years in prison and agreeing to testify against the others.
The burglars believed Taylor wasn’t home. A first-round pick in 2004, Taylor was only 24 when he died.
