  1. Is it an advantage or disadvantage to have a 5th preseason game?

Seems like it would add more self-evaluation time, but does that come at a cost of training camp time or anything?

Patriots preseason 0-4 and regular season 6-10 bank it.

    ————-

I think it’s safer to bank on EJ Manuel missing games, Cassel throwing picks and the Bills missing the playoffs.

  3. Glad to see my Vikings get 5 chances to get 1 win in the preseason. We’ll need 7 to 10 weeks to get a win in the regular season. It’s been years since we’ve played a 3rd place schedule!!

  4. @proudbrothers/bullcharger @tedsmurf

dont worry, after the 6th loss the Patriots take this year the bandwagon will be disseminated to the point where most of you guys wont even be paying attention anymore.

  5. Just waiting for Arizona to stick it to the non-season ticket holders again. When I go online to buy a regular season ticket to the GB-Ari game, I’m forced into a package that will include one other regular game AND one preseason game! So I need to buy tix for three games when I’m only going to make the 5 hour drive for one of them. They don’t even let me pick the two other games. They make that choice for me.

    At least there’s still EBay…

  6. @miker:

Yeah, yeah, yeah…. maybe someday you’ll be right. Even then, you’ll only be 1 for 17 or 18. Congrats.

Also- people like Carl Gerbschmidt to believe that people have ever laughed WITH him instead of just AT him.

As a Viking fan you should be an expert on being laughed AT. Love Boat, Whizzinator, NFCC Game with perfect FG record on the line to go to the SB oops wide right. HAaHAHa SKOL

  8. Hall Of Fame Game — Pittsburgh verses Minnesota:

If Peterson and Bell and Blount were playing, the game would be featuring a child abuser and two druggies.

    Nice.

  9. “The haters just can’t get the World Champion Patriots out of their minds. I love it!!!”

The classic post of a truly desperate Pats fan, wanting some sort of affirmation. Meanwhile, the rest of the league is laughing, knowing the Pats SB victories are tainted and have a “*” next to them. Come back when you get more than six SB trophies. And how convenient of you to forget Spygate. So typical. lol!

  10. Get rid of 2 preseason games and add on 2 games in the regular season! What a waste of time and player management to have 4 pre season games! Ughhhhh!

  11. No, Pats fans aren’t desperate, haters are. They’ll believe anything, make things up, embellish, ignore facts. Anything but believe the Pats beat your team. Pats fans just like to point out how ridiculous you are, spending your lives saying the same things on every thread that concerns the Pats. Believe me, it doesn’t bother me. More of a pity thing. World Champion.

  12. I get it, after 6 months of no football, its better to ease everyone back into by featuring Minnesota and Pittsburgh in the preseason opener. No sense showing them pro football teams at that point in time.

  13. Pats won’t loose six regular games unless you count both the 2015 & 2016 seasons combined…. Maybe not even then!!

  14. It must drive you haters nuts that the Patriots are the reigning world champions until February 7th 2016 (and the Patriots could easily be in that game) that’s eight more months!

Bills fans actually celebrated that week 17 win when the Patriots weren’t even trying. Even then the Bills could barely beat the backups. I guess that’ll have to do when your team hasn’t made the playoffs since the new millennium started.

  15. How fitting that a photo of the 4 time Super Bowl Champion, 3 time SB MVP, 2 time league MVP, holder of multiple League, Super Bowl and playoff records, and greatest quarterback that ever stepped on a football field graces an article about the NFL schedule.

Clearly Brady rules the NFL. 🙂

  16. Some of these posters need therapy. This board may help somewhat but you also need real professional help and maybe even some meds.

  17. Take it easy Pats fans. You’re playing the NFCE this year. We all know how your season ended the last two times that’s happened.

NYG puts the BUT in Pats’ fans BlUsTer.

What is safest to bank on would be the fact that the Patriots will cheat and or get caught cheating at least once this season… But no worries Patriot Fans, they won’t be punished by the league anyway. #ThePatriotWay #TheCheat-riots #Bele-cheat #Deflategate #Spygate

  19. This is the perfect schedule to give the Viking fans false hope after a preseason patsy schedule only to see the Packers win the NFCN going away yet again.

  20. LMFAO at all the Pats haters. It must really suck to not be a fan of the reigning world champions. Keep the comments coming. Call them cheaters all you want. I love it!!!

  21. “If Peterson and Bell and Blount were playing, the game would be featuring a child abuser and two druggies.”

And if you consider smoking weed makes you a druggie then every single game played by every single team features “druggies”. SMH

And every year for the last 15 years I’ve listened to the doom and gloom predictions by the Pats haters, yet they’re always wrong.

I think you just keep doing it now so when the Pats finally do have an off year you can all jump up and down and kiss each other and say “I told you so I told you so”. Even a broken watch is right twice a day right ?

Remember last year when after 4 games the Pats and Brady were “finished”. Yeah I thought that was pretty funny too.

Said the FAKE Vikings Fan who is really a Packers fan….

  23. The games to pay attention to…

Week 1 – Denver at Seattle
Week 2 – Seattle at KC
Week 3 – Seattle at San Diego
    Week 4 – None

  24. Preseason is the only time the Jets come close to sellout games. They wish it were 8 games long.

  25. mrwalterisgod says: Apr 9, 2015 7:57 PM

Brady will start showing age eventually. Sorry Pats fans, you had a nice run but all good things come to an end…

    Yes. “Eventually”. 🙂

Kind of has the same ring as “wait till next year” doesn’t it? 🙂

It is the Curse of Flutie. The Bills will never make the playoffs again until the curse is lifted.

Should have never benched him for Rob Johnson.

  27. Preseason games are for picking special teams players and practice squad guys. The starters hardly play, and when they do it is soft, flag football type stuff.

  28. Were they trying to pick snoozefests as primetime preseason games or what? Sheesh.

What’s next? Browns vs Jaguars on monday night football?

  29. I’m not a Patriots “hater” especially since I root for an NFC team and therefore have no dog in the best AFC team fight but to all you Patriot fans on here acting like they’re the greatest NFL franchise ever should get over yourselves. As a Cowboy fan I would love to feel like they’re the greatest NFL franchise but as an intelligent person and a football fan I know that’s simply not true. If I personally were to rank the greatest franchises in NFL history based on what they’ve done overall and not just recently it’d be #1 Pittsburgh. You can’t argue against 8 SB appearances, 6 SB titles and 4 SB titles in one decade. #2 Dallas. 8 SB appearances, 5 SB appearances in one decade and the first franchise to win 3 SBs in 4 years. That’s right Patriot fans another team won 3 in 4 years before the Pats did it. And Dallas could have have 7 SB titles but in the 70’s they played the team I ranked #1 twice in the SB so no shame in that. #3 San Francisco. 5 SB titles in 6 appearances and 4 in one decade. #4 Green Bay. 4 SB titles and the first team to win back to back SBs even though it was the first 2 SBs still counts for something. #5 Patriots. Congratulations they crack the top 5 but after the first 4 they’re all that’s left. And I’m sure plenty of Pats fans will thumbs down this post and throw around what they’ve done in the salary cap era and all that crap but IMO if you’re gonna throw around what theyve done since the salary cap then you gotta also bring up what they’ve done with controversy surrounding the accomplishments. To me the Patriots are what the Cowboys would’ve been if not for Jerry’s and Jimmy’s egos.

  30. Actually I have to adjust my top 5. I said based on what they’ve done overall and not recently but then I based the Pats at #5 on recently so #5 Giants. Again who’s left? They beat the Pats twice and saved us all from even more band wagoners and Patriot fan arrogance. Thank you Eli.

One thing is for certain the Bills are terrible

Finally, some reason here. You see, the Bills are on a limited timeframe. As I predicted, they are on step one of relocating to my beautiful and illustrious Los Angeles. You see, LA is a high class city that can actually appreciated football. We will receive the washed up Bills franchise after the poor owner goes belly up in just a few years. We have luxury boxes and can actually appreciate sports and feature the highest per capita income in the entire world. There’s a reason we move here for the luxurious lifestyle.

…..but the Raiders Seahawks game will still sell out @ Century Link Field. It’s always a party, and Raiders fans are actually pretty fun. And Week 4 of the preseason is great because you sometimes get to see the bottom rung guys really try hard to make the team. Sometimes you get to see a diamond in the rough.

  33. 2 things I like about the practice game schedule:

    1) All the Panthers games are against teams we don’t play in the regular season. Hopefully that means we might run one or two actual plays.
    2) Game 3, the closest thing to a real game you get from these practice games, is against the Patriots. Why not measure yourself against the defending champs?

At least I’ll have some reasons to watch…
