Free-agent running back Chris Johnson recently resumed working out, not long after being shot in the shoulder. As proof of his determination, Johnson is working out, per a league source, with the bullet still inside his body.
Yes, the bullet remains inside Johnson’s shoulder, but he’s still doing what he has to do to get ready to play in 2015.
Johnson hasn’t drawn much interest since being cut by the Jets. After six straight 1,000-yard seasons, Johnson rushed for 663 yards on 155 carries, an average of 4.3 yards per attempt.
Johnson turns 30 in September, and he’ll be six years removed from his CJ2K season of 2009. He potentially still has some gas in the tank (in addition to some lead in the deltoid), and perhaps after the draft someone will give him a chance to show what he can still do.
