A pass rusher who’s shown some flashes in his first three NFL seasons could be set to test free agency after the 2015 season.

The Seahawks do not intend to exercise the fifth-year option on outside linebacker Bruce Irvin, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported on Wednesday night.

The option was for $7.8 million in salary in 2016.

The 27-year-old Irvin has recorded 16.5 sacks since entering the league with Seattle as the No. 15 overall pick three years ago. He started 13-of-15 games in 2014, notching 37 tackles and 6.5 sacks.

It’s possible Seattle could look to re-sign Irvin to a different deal, but for now, it appears they will pass on adding a fifth year to his current contract.
