Saints sign six picks

The Saints have two-thirds of their draft class under contract.

The team announced agreements with six of their draft picks on Monday evening, leaving them with just a little more work to do ahead of this weekend’s rookie minicamp.

Second-round linebacker Hau’oli Kikaha is the highest pick to agree to his four-year deal with the team. Kikaha had a Washington record 36 sacks in his 44 games at the school and closed his career with 19 sacks and an All-America nod in 2014. That’s the sort of addition the Saints needed on a defense that struggled last season.

Third-round quarterback Garrett Grayson, fifth-round linebacker Davis Tull, fifth-round defensive lineman Tyeler Davison, fifth-round cornerback Damian Swann and seventh-round running back Marcus Murphy were the other picks to sign with the team. The Saints’ two first-round picks — tackle Andrus Peat and linebacker Stephone Anthony — and third-round corner P.J. Williams remain unsigned.
