Falcons meet with Tyler Polumbus

The Falcons took a meeting with free agent Joe Barksdale last week and their search for a veteran addition at right tackle continued on Tuesday.

Field Yates of ESPN.com reports that Tyler Polumbus paid the team a visit, although he’s already pretty familiar with one of the guys who will be making the call about who plays up front.

Polumbus played for the Redskins for the last four years, which means that he was there for three years when current Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan was running the offense for Washington. Polumbus started 35 games for the team over that span and started 11 more during the 2014 season, although the results weren’t particularly impressive.

The same was true of the Falcons right tackles, of course, and Polumbus would give them another option to consider as they try to put together a more effective group of blockers for 2015.
