New Jersey billboards throw shade on Tom Brady

The billboard-buying segment of the Jets fanbase doesn’t have John Idzik to kick around any more, so they found another target.

According to the New York Daily News, 12 billboards have been placed alongside roads in New Jersey mocking Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for his Deflategate suspension.

The billboards went with the hashtag-ready "#TomShady,” flexing their best middle school-level taunting.

“Jets fans are very opinionated,” said Carly Zipp, the communications director for billboard company Outfront Media. “Because billboards are something that is seen by everyone, they knew the power of message and they wanted to it get it out.”

The electronic billboards will be up through the end of the week across the Garden State, and while it’s a familiar tactic, the group that paid for the “Fire John Idzik” billboards said it wasn’t behind these.

Of course, Brady has a better track record than the former Jets General Manager, and unless he chooses to spend his free time tooling around the turnpike, probably won’t see them.
