The Saints are reportedly adding a third kicker to the roster.

According to Kristian Garic of WWL-AM in New Orleans, the Saints have reached a deal with second-year kicker Zach Hocker, who tried out at the club’s rookie minicamp this weekend.

A seventh-round pick of Washington in 2014, Hocker was waived at the end of his first preseason. He was most recently with the Dolphins. An Arkansas product, Hocker joins Shayne Graham and Dustin Hopkins at kicker.

That’s not it for Saints roster changes. According to the New Orleans Advocate, the club has signed two undrafted free agents: wide receiver Kyle Prater (Northwestern) and offensive lineman Antonio Johnson (North Texas). The club has also waived undrafted rookie linebacker Stephon Sanders (SMU), per the Advocate.

  1. …I dont understand why the Saints cant find a kicker. The Eagles, Cardinals, Bucs and Chiefs found great young kickers last year …and they all were free agents. Not to mention other young kickers like Tucker and the Rams Legatron. The Saint scouts who are charge of finding special team talent should be fired.

  2. I liked when the Redskins grabbed him but it didn’t pan out. Hopefully things work out for him with the New Orleans team.
