The Bills have added a pair of running backs to the roster this offseason by trading for LeSean McCoy and drafting Karlos Williams, creating a deep pool of backs heading into the 2015 season.

One of those backs has not been taking part in the team’s offseason workouts. Bryce Brown has not been taking part in the voluntary work while he deals with a family situation, which Bills running back coach Anthony Lynn said Tuesday leaves him concerned that Brown won’t be able to catch up once he does join the team and its new coaching staff.

“Bryce is doing what he has to do right now, taking care of his family in the offseason, but yes, it will set him back,” Lynn said, via the Buffalo News. “I mean, he’s five, six weeks behind everyone else. Once he gets here, it’s going to be hard to slow down and catch him up. That’s one of my biggest concerns, but, you know, he’s got the playbook. Hopefully he’s taking care of his business and hopefully he’ll come in in great shape and we’ll see what happens.”

With McCoy, Williams, Fred Jackson, Anthony Dixon and a couple of fullbacks also on hand, there is going to be at least one back dropped from the roster in Buffalo before the season gets underway. Based on Lynn’s comments, Brown’s chances of avoiding that fate don’t look too good.
