The Panthers tweaked their roster on Wednesday by waiving 2013 fourth-round pick Edmund Kugbila off of their offensive line and they made another alteration on Thursday.

The team announced that they have signed safety Marcus Ball and waived safety Kimario McFadden. The moves leave the Panthers roster at the offseason maximum of 90 players.

Carolina got a couple of looks at Ball last season when he faced them as a member of the Saints. Ball played in 12 games for the Saints overall, making a pair of starts but playing under 100 snaps on defense overall. He was released earlier this month. Ball spent two years with the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL before signing with New Orleans last offseason.

Roman Harper, Tre Boston, Robert Lester, Colin Jones and Kurt Coleman will join Ball as safeties with NFL experience at Panthers practices.
