The Arizona Cardinals announced they signed guard Jon Halapio and released tackle Tavon Rooks on Friday.
Halapio was a sixth-round pick of the New England Patriots last year out of the University of Florida. Halapio was released by the Patriots during final cuts at the end of training camp. He later signed with the Denver Broncos practice squad and remained on the roster into the offseason. The Broncos released Halapio in May.
Rooks, a sixth-round pick of the New Orleans Saints last season, spent the entire season on the team’s practice squad but wasn’t signed to a futures contract to remain with the team. He signed with Arizona instead in January.
