DeSean Jackson accuses Eagles of “smear campaign”

The NFL is the nation’s ultimate reality show. Which perhaps makes NFL players inclined to try to have their own reality shows.

Washington receiver DeSean Jackson now does, and in the first episode of his new BET series Jackson unloaded on his former team, the Eagles.

Via John Keim of ESPN.com, Jackson accused the Eagles of launching a “smear campaign” against him in 2014, the year the team decided to move on from the player who arrived as a second-round pick in 2008.

“I was at the top of the top. And then I got released,” Jackson said early in the debut of DeSean Jackson Home Team. “It was a smear campaign. Things media said about me, I bet you could say that about the majority of people in the NFL. I got a second chance to play in the NFL and I’m proving I’m one of the best receivers in the game.”

He may have a point. On the very same day the Eagles cut Jackson, NJ.com published a story that suggested gang connections and claimed, citing unnamed sources, that the Eagles also are concerned about his “bad attitude, an inconsistent work ethic, missed meetings and a lack of chemistry with head coach Chip Kelly.”

Last April, the NFLPA said it was looking into whether the Eagles smeared Jackson, but there never was a specific finding that the Eagles did. Jackson continued to be convinced that they did.

“When I was released by the Eagles, I feel they tried to paint a picture that definitely wasn’t true,” Jackson said during the show. “It was a slap in the face, coming off one of my best seasons in the NFL. . . . The Eagles tried to blow me up. That’s cold how they did it. . . . Have I went to jail? . . . I ain’t done none of that.”

The Eagles consistently have said that Jackson was released for football reasons only. Though his numbers were down from 2013 to 2014, Jackson still had 1,169 receiving yards — and his highest yard-per-catch average (20.9) since 2010 in his first season with Washington.

  1. I get that the Eagles didn’t want to pay him at the number he was making. But I remember the gang ties stories were everywhere. That was a low blow and unnecessary

  2. This guy’s been a bad actor since his college days. And that’s as far back as I’ve been watching him. If everyone in his past is on a smear campaign, and they’re all telling the truth, what’s that saying about this guy? I think we all know the answer. This is why you shy away from character guys.

  3. The eagles never said anything about Desean it was an NJ.com article. And what wide out wasn’t an “eagles killer” going up against Fletcher?

  4. What’s with Mesean and Shady?
I don’t hear anyone from the Eagles FO talking about them but they sure do love to talk trash about the Eagles.

  5. I guess a quality player would just quietly vow to be even better and make the team that released him regret it.

Sigh. But those days are over.

We live in the era of malcontent divas, with no end in sight.

  6. Come on DeSean you’re better than that. Just let it be in the past and try to perform on your current team.

  7. The Eagles didn’t try to ruine your rep. That was the media. The Eagles released you, because you’re a selfish diva. Just like we did T.O.

  8. In the grand scheme of things and given the collective attention span of people that was a long time ago.
But if you aren’t over it DeSean, light the Eagles up if you can. Take easy completions and take them to the house. Nothing says revenge in the NFL like highlight moments. Spoil their playoff chances while your team improves.

  9. Every time this guy opens his mouth he shows exactly why he was cut. Not a team player, it’s all about him.

Let it go, shut up and play football.

  10. Let me explain something to some of you uneducated fans.

OTA’s are a NON-ISSUE for UPPER ECHELON NFL Stars!!

When you are in the top ten of your position group, missing the PLAYER OPTIONAL “UNDER WEAR OLYMPICS” is inconsequential at best!!

    He’s 1000% correct!!!

Those unfounded rumors(Gang related? Lol Who grew up in South Central LA without at least casually knowing “gang bangers”? Stupidest non-sense ever!)

So………DJax was a distraction and not buying into the Chipsters culture huh?

So you release DJax and then give Ole RACIST RILEY a contract extension? LMAO!!!!

Way to build comraderie and team chemistry there CHIPSTER!!!!

But I know, I know, Cooper apologized for his actions and all was right in Eagle Land, Right?? Lol

    WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!

That entire episode had a STENCH coming off of it that could be smelled FAR & WIDE!!!!

I’m not gonna go all Shady McCoy and insist that the CHIPSTER is a Racist or anything BUT……………

  11. They definitely did smear him. And Chip Kelly is a tool by the way. The only thing that will make me happier than watching him crash and burn this season will be to watch the Lions beat up on the NFC North and go to the playoffs for the third time in five years.

  12. Holy moly am I glad this kid isnt on the Eagles anymore…

Hes 8 years into the league and is still acting like an 18 year old pampered high schooler.

  13. Can’t/Won’t block- huge part of the scheme in Philly- and was making more than what he was worth to the offense. Not a smear campaign by the Eagles. He was involved in everything that was brought up. By the media.

He could be good in another scheme, but he’s certainly not doing the Skins any favors by skipping OTAs, making negative news, and being a diva.

  14. you can feel how ever you want Desean.. it doesnt take away the fact that the Eagles did a smear job on him. They were wrong .. and he has every right to call them out on it.

  15. NOBODY acted like jackson acted in the Philly locker room. His attitude is poison. On and off the field. If you are at the top of your game (which he was), and the team feels compelled to release you…who else do you have to blame other than yourself? The team would rather sacrifice your production than keep you around.. Isn’t that message clear?

  16. Oh boy. Here come the Eagle fans to tell you to shut up DeSean. On one post they celebrate your accomplishments against other teams & on posts where you tell the truth about the Eagles organization they will tell you they are glad to be rid of you & that you weren’t that great. But talking out of both sides of their mouths is a prerequisite to being an Eagle fan.

You have every right to say what ever feel about the organization, you are just as entitled to your freedom of speech in regards to how Kelly treated you. Funny how every former Eagle has very little good to say about Chip Kelly. Former Eagles that played under Andy didn’t leave & trash Reid like players do about Kelly.

The Eagle faithful will tell us ALL of the players talking are wrong & we should pay no attention to the guys that actually played for him & experienced his coaching first hand. But think about this, have any players in recent memory trashed a coach so much after leaving an organization as former Eagle players have done with Kelly?

  17. Useless and a liar. The guy hasn’t stopped whining since Eagles dumped his ‘ME ME ME’ attitude. He’s worse than McCoy…which is hard to do. Neither were team players, and Chip wants team players…simple as that.

  18. bad attitude, an inconsistent work ethic, missed meetings …

Thats enough for me to release you.

  19. So, is his assertion that the Eagles forced him to take pictures flashing gang signs? Hanging out with known gang members? I believe that is where his negative press came from. Bad apple? Bad attitude? No one needs the Eagles for help in deciding that. Best receiver in the NFL? ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Oh well, just call me a “hater”.

  20. DJax clearly is involved in gangs off the field. He ADMITTED to being affiliated with gangs and knowing members in gangs.

The FBI also investigated signs he did while on the field during a game that were proven to be current Crip gang signs.

  22. Bigblue… when your team is the worst in the NFC East and goes 4-12, it doesn’t matter how good you are in your position, you show up to build chemistry with your team so you can hopefully, y’know… do better than 4-12.

Desean skipping OTA’s to go to the NBA playoff game and throw that party might not have any impact on him individually skill wise… but it has a HUGE impact on how he is perceived by those who DID show up and put in work to get better AS A TEAM.

  23. Funny how chip kelly gets the heat for this idiots actions. Kelly never said a word about Jackson, it was the philly media that concocted the gang story and rumors. I wouldn’t expect someone of jacksons mental capacity to understand that though. This idiot MeSean is doing the same things he did in philly. He’s more worried about making music and trying to be cool. Dude is in no way a top 10 receiver either as he lacks a complete game and he’s on an awful team.

  24. As a Skins fan, Jackson is great on the field and was clearly our best offensive player next season.

Also, he hasn’t been much of a malcontent when it comes to the Skins. I assume that’ll probably come later.

In general, he’d be so much more likeable (and probably still on the Eagles) if he had a better personality off the field.

  25. What a dope. Look no further than your own record label. How is that not a gang reference. When are people gonna get it? Chip don’t want the flash and dance. Beat it!

Why don’t you SHOUT a bit louder so we can all be educated like you.

  27. “OTA’s are a NON-ISSUE for UPPER ECHELON NFL Stars!!”

You’re quite wrong about that. For one thing players that condition on their own and not at the team facilities seem to get injured at a far higher rate than the ones that go to OTAs and condition there.

Second, not only are you not building team chemistry but you’re telling all the other guys on the team that you consider yourself above the rest of the team and don’t have to follow the same rules.

You might want to, you know, actually know what you’re talking about before you call other people uneducated.

  28. You may be right, DeSean. After all, who wouldn’t want to pay millions of dollars to a guy with gang connections, a bad attitude, an inconsistent work ethic, who misses meetings and has no chemistry with their coach?

  29. We’re talking about a guy who admitted that he tanked it for an entire season because he wasn’t happy with his contract. That’s all you need to know about the guy. DeSean and Little Danny Snyder are a match made in heaven. Enjoy your 4 wins per season, DJAX.

  30. Thanks for setting me straight BB, all this time I thought it was UNDER WHERE?! OLYMPICS

  31. Never a shortage of idiots on this site. All the Eagles did was release him about the same time that the NJ.com article was coming out. I can’t blame them. They had already decided to release him because of his cancerous “me first attitude”. So they decided to release him when NJ.com came calling for their comments on the accusations being made by that LA Detective.

Maybe that wasn’t fair, but maybe they were just concerned that it might be true, and they wanted to release him anyway, so they did it. But the bottom line is they ALWAYS said it was just a football decision. He just wasn’t a Kelly guy at all. Great talent, no doubt, but he was always a punk. And you don’t need that when you’re trying to build a special culture and chemistry.

Eagles Haters can say whatever then want. It makes no difference. I’d just say that some people on here would be better served by keeping quiet, I’m sure enough people in their lives know their stupid without advertising it across the NFL world.

  32. MeSean was a great player for the Eagles, but he made a bad call disrespecting the staff. Let’s not forget MeSean was also suspended by Reid for the Arizona game a few years back. The lesson was not learned back then.

Two different coaching staffs, same problem with the player. Where do you think the issue lies ?

The ex Cal player is a bright guy, and a talent, but it’s too bad for Eagles fans we had to cut him to force him to grow up. Ask Cris Carter about how that can work out for you.

    ———————————–

I’m sorry, you must have us mistaken for non-Eagles fans. For example, read up on the comments about Nick Foles. Before the Eagles traded him, he was garbage, lucky, injury prone, slow, and Napoleon Dynamite. However, since being traded, the Eagles are apparently complete morons for trading such an amazing franchise QB.

  36. The players rarely take the high road, due to being egomaniacs (see Desean). Some coaches (Dungy) take the high road, Kelly is not one of them. He was fine to cut him (his choice), but his problem is he so wants to be loved by Philly he’ll paint the picture to absolve him of any hate. Starting with his cheesy wing bowl appearance (“Yo Philly!!!”), this is his personality. There is a chance that he will be a better coach than Andy. As a person, he seems to be right there with Desean.

  37. The Eagles had swagger… they had rep that guys like DeSean could bank on. Not so much with the Redskins and Bills. No wonder they continue to make these types of comments.

  38. At the end if the day, he had his best season under Kelly. It doesn’t matter how angry he is, he did enough to infuriate Kelly to the point where Kelly released him. None of the gang or bad guy stories came from the Eagles. Now, I’m glad they released him. How do you like playing for a 4 win perennial loser DJax? You are over a year out of Philly and still so bitter to have left. How do you think that makes your current stinky team feel? At the end of the conversation, you are a weak me-first player who was turned in to a star by Andy Reid and Chip Kelly. You play for a sad little franchise and no one cares about you because you and your team won’t make the playoffs this decade. Just let it go. You are a massive pain who was given amazing skills as a player and decides that you want to be more important than your team. That is acceptable in DC where there are zero expectations to win or be respectable. That is not acceptable for a top notch franchise like Philadelphia. Just move on, you got your money “playa” keep living that lifestyle!

  39. Owner Lurie must have been out of his mind to give so much power to Chip Kelly. He will undermine that team where it will only be a shell of itself within two years.

  40. “Have I went to jail? . . . I ain’t done none of that.”

Apparently he spent four years in college without ever making to an English class.

  41. I want high character in my teachers, politicians, etc. I don’t need it for my football players. You guys need to get a grip, this is football, not the church choir.

What you don’t understand is that you need some guys on the team with “attitude”. I don’t want a league with a bunch of cookie-cutter guys in either direction.

I wouldn’t have Mesean on my Fantasy Football team and fully understand why Chip didn’t want him. I want steady receivers – players who reach double digits in a majority of weeks – not whiny receivers like Mesean.

    ********************************************
Fact correction #1. DJax is a good WR, not a superstar WR. He’s a weak #1, or a really strong #2 WR.

Fact correction #2. While Riley Cooper certainly used a racial slur, that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s a racist at heart. I have no idea what he thinks and feels. Though using slurs like that doesn’t help his case.

Fact correction #3 (and probably the most important) Because Riley Cooper is a WR3 or WR4 he is cheaper than DJax. The NFL is a business. One that has a salary cap. Decisions like this are made all the time.

  45. It’s funny how some of these former Eagles players are going out of their way to prove that Chip Kelly had the right idea.

  46. During the show he told people to look up no.1 receiver in the NFL. He Said it was him. I mean his stats in good years are pretty nice, but he cant seriously believe that, can he?

  47. The Eagles said he was cut for football reasons, and PFT. Decides to post his numbers which anyone could see are decent. It’s what he didn’t do on plays he wasn’t the primary receiver. Didn’t finish routes definitely didn’t block. If anyone still needs to know why he was cut, there is no explanation that will satisfy you. This Eagle fan has always been happy he was cut.

  48. The NFL should put something in the next collective bargaining agreement with the NFLPA that current players can’t have their own reality show.

Guys can’t help but make a fool of themselves.

I can’t wait to hear what else comes out of Jackson’s mouth.

  49. Jackson is the racist. once his hack QB Vick was benched
he took plays off and sulked and became supposedly injured.
Same thing in Washington when Rgbustus gets benched he becomes injured or takes plays off .
Jackson nothing but a cancer on any team he is on.

  50. WHaaaah….Whaaaahhh.Whaaaaahhhh.

    They let me go…..

If you were truly great, a trade would of made sense. Why would a team put bad info out so they could not trade you?????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You showed your teammates up on the field on game day. You never paid your agent back the money you borrowed. You had that insurance issue in which 200,000 dollars was really 20,000 (lucky you didn’t get insurance fraud idiot). You are throwing gang signs up on the field against d hall. Your work ethic was not as the coach required and you took plays off. Not to mention you were a bad teammate!

You still point the finger at everyone else and take no blame for yourself. Hence why you got released. You have yet to man up. You were a liability, period!

  51. what benefit would come from this??

They were shopping the guy to the highest bidder.
Why would they leak information to damage their trading piece??

It would be far move believable if a rival team did this to screw over the eagles chances of netting any return on the trade.
No coincidence the “leak” came from a north jersey source.

    wake up

    ——————-
Yet Brady Rodgers Brees manning were all at OTAs. You are so smart buddy

  53. When a journalist (and you are clearly aware that it is a journalist) points a camera at you, and you flash gang signs, you are executing a smear campaign against yourself. Please don’t point the finger at anyone else.

  54. Hey, Michael Irvin and the book “Boys will be Boys” talked about how Jimmy Johnson used to spread rumors about players he cut.

Paul Brown gave Bill Walsh bad reviews when Walsh wanted head coaching jobs elsewhere. Why wouldn’t the Eagles do anything similar.

  55. He was cut because he had an 8 figure salary, nobody would have paid him that. All 31 other teams had a chance to claim him and passed, not because of a smear campaign but because he is one dimensional and was due to be paid $11,000,000.

That being said maybe the Eagles did leak that article.

  56. He did flash gang signs purposely in photos. That’s a fact. Since that isn’t really a good idea when you aren’t in the gang I would say it’s pretty reasonable to assume he has gang ties. It doesn’t mean he did anything illegal, but he cerainly caused his own problem.

    ==============================

The Eagles started the rumor after it was clear that they weren’t going to get anything in a trade for Jackson.

At that point, the Eagles needed public opinion to be swayed to their side by leaking the info about gang signs.

They released one of their best players (in his prime no less), and got absolutely nothing in return. They needed the fans to have a good reason for it.

So that’s why they would do it.

  59. There was most definitely a smear campaign against DeSean.

Not sure who was behind it, but they tried their best to ruin his reputation and take heat off of the Eagles for getting rid of their best playmaker. Luckily for Jackson, he has no “off the field” incidents or they may have succeeded.

They did the same thing with Percy Harvin and are currently trying with Marshawn Lynch.

    We see you.

  60. Everyone knew this happened. They didn’t want to pay him, so they started speaking of alleged gang ties to grease the skids out of town. At least be a stand up man and just say you don’t want a player if you dn’t want them instead of making stuff up.

  61. As an Eagles fan I can tell you I wasn’t at all happy how that went down either for multiple reasons.

For starters, DeSean was coming off his best season with the Birds. He made the ProBowl. He was only 27 years old. Regardless of whatever character flaws you think the guy has, they still let a 27 year old ProBowl WR walk for nothing. And to a division rival no less. It was DeSean and the skins that put the proverbial nail in the coffin on last season as well.

My other issue is leverage. Maclin was in a contract year last season. By keeping DeSean just ONE more season, perhaps Maclin’s numbers wouldn’t have been so inflated this year. Perhaps we could have gotten him for far less than the $11 mil KC paid for him in free agency. And perhaps, with one more probowl season under his belt, the Birds could have traded DeSean and actually gotten SOME sort of value for the guy.

Instead, within just one season, the Birds lost two probowl wide receivers in the prime of their careers and got literally NOTHING in return.

No matter how you look at it, that is pathetic. Chip Kelly the coach may be very good…but the GM is leaving quite a bit to be desired thus far.

  62. “But think about this, have any players in recent memory trashed a coach so much after leaving an organization as former Eagle players have done with Kelly?”

    1) Jackson
    2) Williams
    3) Herrimanns
    4) McCoy
    5) Fletcher
    6) Mathis
    7) Cole (although what he said was much nicer, he made it clear it was nice to be in a place where he was wanted).

This is just 7 players who didn’t have any good words for CK after leaving the Eagles. No doubt there would be more but they would be lesser known players. Say what you want Philly fans, but the excerpt above said by a previous poster does have some validity.

  63. Man, who cares what the Eagles said? He still has a job, and if he wants to shut them up, work hard and play hard. Then burn them twice a year. Is that so hard to see?

    ========

Do you have any proof of that? Because I haven’t seen any proof that the gang stuff or any of the negative stuff was leaked by the Eagles.

The gang stuff, as is actually fairly well known, came from an LA newspaper story that was picked up by a NJ newspaper. The team had nothing to do with it.

    ——————-
Isn’t it telling the some teams’ fans view making the playoffs 3 times in 5 years as a grand achievement whilst Patriot fans view it as a disaster?

  66. The comment about everyone who grew up in South LA knowing gangbangers isn’t that factual. I grew up there, and knew who they were, and avoided them like Ebola. An LAPD detective was named the source. Was it true? Who knows? And the racist Chip arguments are lame. Yes he released Shady. And replaced him with three black running backs, after growing tired of watching him fall down in the backfield. Does he think Cooper is better than Maclin? No. He has said he’d love to have Maclin, but he was due to make a huge amount of money. Cooper is an ok possession receiver who costs next to nothing. I doubt they view him as a replace the for either Jaclson or Maclin

  67. Remember when the Falcon safety lit him up,,, now every pass he catches is a sideline route !

  68. top of the top, really deshean? CJ, marshal, jones, thomas, gorden (when not suspended), green, bryant are the top. you are nowhere near them.

you are second tier with v jax, hilton, alshon, nelson, cobb and probably the bottom of that tier.

  69. He reminds me of my friend’s ex-wife. He’s never said a bad word about her, but she goes around telling anyone who will listen about all the lies he tells about her. She just can’t let go and needs to blame someone other than herself for the breakup. Just like Jackson. He makes himself look stupid carrying on like he does.

Then upped the ante by giving a multi million dollar extension to a VIDEO CONFIRMED RACIST that wouldn’t even be a WR4 for most teams in the NFL!!!! Lol

I’m not saying whether or not this is racist practices but, What would your EDUCATED assessment of these FACTS lead you to believe?

    —————————————–

About Riley Cooper, yes he said something he shouldn’t have, that does not equate to being a racist. If he was to be a racist, more likely would have come out about him but nothing has. He showed remorse, could have been cut but wasn’t. Since it was a negative, I ask this question, should anyone who has done something negative get cut? How about whipping your kid with a stick? Beating your girlfriend? DUI that kills your teammate? DUI that kills a pedestrian?

To the running through the mud, the NJ.com article was not found to be influenced by the Eagles. Their is; however, photo evidence of him flashing known gang symbols as well as a LAPD detective stating that Jackson was a person they would like to speak to about certain activities but was not a POI.

To Chip Kelly being a racist: Unfortunately people see things without paying attention to everything else. Sure, if you just look at Riley being kept and Shady and Djax being cut you can jump to a wrong conclusion. If you decide to look at other factors like multiple FAs signing with the Eagles being black, 7 of 24 coaches being black and countless front office personnel, comments from plenty of people that actually know Kelly, then you might start to come to a different conclusion. Sadly though it is a heck of a lot easier to jump on the Shady/S.A. Smith train then it is to actually have a thought of your own.

DJax and Shady no longer being Eagles is not the result of some racist head coach but rather a head coach who wants players to want to be part of his team and willing to do everything they can. DJax and Shady did not fit into his team first agenda, nor did Mathis who was recently cut. It is fair and reasonable to debate if those moves are good or bad for the team but it is not reasonable to claim racism in those moves.

  71. “I ain’t done none of that.”

I think this is all we need to hear from this “college graduate”.

    UC Berkeley too! Incredible.

  72. Great player, inconsistent work ethic and questionable attitude. Kelly demands total buy-in and prefers bigger players. DeSean gave him neither. That’s really all there is to it.

  73. “Have I went to jail? . . . I ain’t done none of that.”

You have to love the modern college education. Meh.

  74. maybe if he weren’t saying this on a reality TV show during a crucial portion of the offseason, he’d have a little credibility. NJ.com said there were concerns about his attitude and work ethic, and here he is . . . talking trash on TV. For the sake of comparison, what do you suppose AJ Green and Julio Jones are up to this summer?

  75. as a philly guy,

let me tell you , NO ONE SUPPORTED THE RELEASE OF DESEAN JACKSON..

    fake gang ties or not.
that story did nothing to sway the public.
again, lets hear more about the link that stemmed from a north jersey paper.

not to mention, the eagles were not linked to that legal slander accusation

  76. Djax was coming off a career year…primed to make $10 million. He started hinting about out performing his contract, i.e. he was looking for more money. Philly fans recall how he acted and played during his contract season, in which he later admitted to “tanking”. Andy Reid gave him that contract. Andy Reid put up with whatever it was Jackson was doing.
Now you have a new coach who had a chance to see him up close and personal. After all those stats, the new coach decided DJax wasn’t worth $10 million.
So now Djax goes to Washington and immediately signs a new contract for more money.
He and McCoy both received new contracts but continue to talk about how they were treated.

  77. Jeez..DJaX&Shady need to move on and embrace their current clubs/and cities and let go of the past. IMH0 I think that they both obviously wanted to stay bc the numbers they both put up in the Offense, also bc they were close in age with the thought of DJaX ProBowl+Shady ProBwl lets get a QB=SB..Haha but it’s a TEAM game and his cap# was too high and DB’s wee too bad LoL it all=B.Maxwell-Kiko-Thurmond ect on D now.

  78. @ bigboy000, there you go with no facts again. Find me ONE bad thing Herramins said about Kelly. You should stick to your own sorry team.

“But think about this, have any players in recent memory trashed a coach so much after leaving an organization as former Eagle players have done with Kelly?”

    1) Jackson – Career year and wanted new contract 2 years later.
    2) Williams – HORRIBLE AT HIS POSITION
    3) Herrimanns – OLD
    4) McCoy
    5) Fletcher – TAPE DON’T LIE…TOAST
    6) Mathis – OLD and turned down a new contract.
    7) Cole (although what he said was much nicer, he made it clear it was nice to be in a place where he was wanted). OLD and was looking for $8 million coming off decreased stats!

This is just 7 players who didn’t have any good words for CK after leaving the Eagles. No doubt there would be more but they would be lesser known players. Say what you want Philly fans, but the excerpt above said by a previous poster does have some validity.
    ===============================
The offensive line under Andy Reid is long in the tooth. They will need to continue to revamp the O-Line, so moving both Mathis and Herramans had to be done.

  80. The act of unbecoming is a football matter. They did this guy a favor by being vague about the reasoning. Other suitor teams could have used any info against him.

  81. This is a lot of hate!!! bet everything would be Lovely if he played for everybodys favorite team……Dallas!
Truth is I bet if he was on your team you would love him.Typical hatred!!!!

I don’t see many comments saying he’s a bad player or that they wouldn’t want him on their team.

It’s more that he plays for Washington now and he can’t let go of the fact he was cut. Getting cut is part of playing in the NFL. It doesn’t matter why he was cut. He needs to move on.

  83. I think the Eagles were right to release him because he didn’t fit the culture that Chip Kelly wanted. But let’s not pretend as if they didn’t smear that guy all over the news with innuendo and faulty gossip. It was a joke. Dude is a loudmouth, and a malcontent, but he’s no criminal despite how they try to paint pictures. The closest you can find on him is a marijuana stop and that was never prosecuted.

The eagles should have just kept it classy and moved on but instead they tried to fry him on his way out the door.

  84. Why would they try and smear his name they first tried to trade him and yet no team wanted him not even kc that definitely could have used him last year. I bet if Detroit tried to trade Megatron teams would be lining up hell even with all the trouble dez has had off the field people would be blowing the Cowboys phones up if they offered him up for trade. The difference is dez is more of a off the field issue guy not both. He gave Philly alot of great memories but he also did things that made the fans want to pull their hair out!

First of all you need to delve a lil deeper and allow reading comprehension to be your friend!!! Lol

I never “admitted to watching his show” because I’ve never seen it!!! Lol

The “episode” that had a STENCH I was eluding to was the situ between CHIPSTER/Eagles Org. and their mishandling of the DJAX release!!!!

Miss me with the race card non-sense too!!!! This is CUT & DRY.

So…………What exactly must a person do to be considered a Certified Racist??? Lol

Because according to you, Spewing vulgarity laced HATE SPEECH ie:

“I’ll fight each and every one of you N-WORDS”

    – Riley Cooper

So by your logic, if I smacked your mama but have never publicly smacked a women before, I shouldn’t be labeled a women beater? Lol

    Now that sounds idiotic right?
    Of course it does!!!!

Just like you justifying Riley Cooper NOT being a racist because we don’t have a library of examples of him exhibiting racist behavior!

Could he be remorseful and truly sorry for what he said?
    Sure.

But he could also be remorseful and truly sorry because he was recorded, embarrassed, and will spend the rest of his days being partially known as a RACIST or as you put it a potential racist!! Lol

What DJax “throws up” is the sign of his Neighborhood. I would get in to the dynamic of how athletes “rep their hoods” but it would take too long and to be honest I doubt you’d “get it”.

What a lot of “You People”(Haha Funny how that works huh…..) don’t understand is that many so called “gang signs” are not exclusively used by “gang bangers” but are used by MANY residents of particular neighborhoods.

If you read my posts carefully you will see that I did not say that Chip Kelly is a racist.

For those of you that “time heals all wounds” and have selective memory of how ostracized and awkward the Riley Cooper situ was…….. Do me a favor and go youtube the footage of Riley Cooper at camp right after this story came to light!!!

You would’ve thought he had EBOLA the way guys went out of their way to NOT interact with ‘Ol Riley!!!! So the whole “Chip wants his guys that buys into his way of things” Yada Yada Yada has caught a major snag! Unless of course Riley embodies the type of “culture” the CHIPSTER is nurturing in Philly.

I’m not God, I don’t judge anyone BUT, I definitely believe people when they show me who they truly are!!!

So Yes, it does strike some of “US”(All clear thinking adults) as bazaar that a middling at best player would get a multi-million dollar extension on the cusp of a CLEARLY RACIST rant.

  86. “Have I went to jail? . . . I ain’t done none of that.”

Apparently you never went beyond a 3rd grade command of the English language either.

Go back to the hood you punk.

  87. Dude, this show is pure gold. After his remarks, he went on to provide video evidence that he hasn’t changed at all. This is why the Eagles cut him. Isn’t the show suppose to be about change?

  88. As a big Eagle fan, I can say that DJax was one of my favorites. He was always exciting to watch, but he was wildly inconsistent and would often disappear in big games. I really wish he wouldn’t have landed in Washington, but it could be worse. He could be a Cowboy.

  89. A) Jackson was never a Super Star WR. He’s a one trick pony.
    B) He takes LOTS of plays off. If he doesn’t feel like playing that’s too darn bad for your offense.
    C) His look at me act has worn very thin. At least Moss backed up his act.

In his 4 playoff games he has only shown up once. He’s had one good game, the other three COMBINED don’t add up to his one good game. Super Stars show up in big games. Jackson disappears.

In seven years Jackson has 38 TDs. In five years Dez Bryant has 56 TDs. That’s the difference between a Super Star and Jackson.
