Randy Moss on Brady: If he did it, so what?

Getty Images

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is expected to issue a ruling on Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s appeal soon and one of Brady’s former teammates offered Goodell some thoughts about what he should do.

Randy Moss spent parts of four seasons catching passes from Brady in New England and said at his football camp over the weekend that he’s “always stood” in Brady’s corner because of Brady’s professionalism. Nothing about Deflategate has shaken Moss’s belief in the quarterback.

“Over some air?” Moss said, via the Fayetteville Observer. “If he did it, so what? He hasn’t shown me anything but how he carries himself as a professional man, husband, father and athlete. Tom Brady is a pro’s pro. I love the man and everything he’s accomplished.”

Moss’s support of Brady doesn’t come as a great surprise given what Moss’s years with the Patriots did for his NFL legacy. It also won’t come as much of a surprise if Goodell’s ruling is made without much attention paid to the opinions of Moss or any other NFL player that has come down on Brady’s side over the last few months given how little that support meant before Brady was suspended in the first place.

  1. whats the point of that story? o i get it…your time to be snarky. Brady will get 2 games and he is taking fiddell goddell to court.

  2. “if he did it” … Did what? Masterminded a complex scheme to deflate footballs below 12.5 PSI???

Has that been proven ??? At all…???

This is perhaps the greatest New England railroad job since Sacco and Vanzetti.

  3. Brady’s Mom thinks it’s no big deal too. Luckily both her and Randy are unbiased.

  4. Y’all know he had those balls deflated!!! Don’t worry patsie fans Brady will not be suspended, because Goodell has to stay in the good graces of the by GOD patsies, the darlings of the NFL!!! When Brady retires with his wife probably next year cheater Bill will be right behind him & the by GOD patsies the darlings of the NFL will be sorry again, like the 70’s 80’s & 90’s finally!!!

  5. So, here’s the bottom line:

You like Brady before, you still like him.

You didn’t like Brady before, now you hate him.

    And the world still turns.

  6. Why have any rules at all? Why punish people for cheating? Why even bother to have referees and officials and all this other stuff? Teams should just meet on an old dirt field and play no rules football. Just another excuse maker for someone who cheats. Just goes to show how much disregard most players have for the rules if they can find a way around them.

  7. Randy thanks for the input and support.

Tom did not order the balls to be less than 12.5 psi.

If he did anything he asked that they be on the low side verses Arrons Rogers asking for them to be on the high side. Neither player is breaking the rules.

High side or Low side doesn’t mean over inflated or underinflated.

This whole thing is about nothing. Lets move on and lift the suspension.

  8. .
It’s true that little attention will be paid to Moss’s remarks because they support Brady. Previous anti Brady comments by such notables as Mark Brunnel, Trent Dilfer, Karlos (the quitter) Dansby, Chris Mortenson, John Clayton, Bob Kravitz, Shafter, Harbaugh, Pagano, Grigson, Gardi, Blandino, Vincent, Kensil, Pash, Henderson, Wells, and the former PR man Roger Goodell were treated as if Moses, himself, delivered them.
    .

  9. Don’t act like Brady had tons of support through deflategate. The liberal media tried to destroy Bradys image prior to the Superbowl and he shuved it in everyone’s face by breaking the completion record and won the greatest game ever played in an epic comeback.

  10. If you interview EVERYONE that has ever played with Brady and then everyone in the NFL you can keep this story in the news for years to come

  11. These guys need to prefice this type of support by stating unequivocally there is no evidence against Brady.

Goodell and his minions should be called out for what they are, hacks.

  12. All of the other current big name QB’s are eerily silent on this issue.
You can be sure it’s because they ALL play little games with preparing footballs to their liking.
    Air pressure included.
Don’t kid yourself haters, these little games within the game are all PART of the game.

You Brady/Pats haters are the most sanctimonious, holier-than-thou clowns on the interwebs.
    SMH

  13. “The integrity of the game requires that all good teams be punished on contrived charges, while bad teams are allowed to cheat with impunity because they are oppressed. That’s how we run America now, and that’s how we run the NFL.” — Generalissimo Goodell

  14. There’s no evidence he did anything. Even SI reporter Peter King acknowledges that. But I was one of the first to say that if he had then “so what?” The NFL had never cared about psi regulations and some players and coaches even admitted they were unaware such rules were on the books. And then game officials started over – inflating balls midseason, which might compel any QB to take matters into his own hands. So the questions are unimportant, but yet they remain for those who insist on tarnishing Brady: (1) Did Brady deflate or order the deflation? (2) Were the balls deflated to levels below regulation or did the weather conditions account for that additional deflation that brought the balls below regulation limits?

Meanwhile another QB came forward, albeit on condition of anonymity, to claim he used a paper clip to deflate balls midgame.

  15. Moss has a point. Folks that paint Brady to be a scumbag are just jealous. It is hard to argue that the guy tries hard to be a good person in all parts of his life. I can listen to someone that makes a logical case that Brady broke the rules, but comparing him to some of the other players that have had suspensions for PED use and domestic abuse isn’t right.

  16. I feel the same way as Moss. Brady is an absolute stud, regardless. I also think the same way about Barry Bonds and Pete Rose. I think we get too hung up on punishment in our powerless little worlds. Just leave these all time greats alone, and find something else to whine about. Stop trying to play God.

  17. Heck – Goodell doesn’t care if the Laws of Physics and best recollection of his own officials (who routinely cheat, over inflating to 16psi) exonerate Brady

Goodell and the former Jets officials in the NFL offices wanted to suspend Brady and punish Belichick for jilting them

Nothing will deter them – meanwhile they look the other way on child and spousal abuse and reduce the penalty of a guy convicted by the courts

If this goes to the courts it’s “more probable than not” they will find Goodell has tarnished the shield and is a threat to the integrity of the game given his ego maniacal ability to look at evidence that exonerated Brady – so he just “assumes” the opposite

Honestly I hope it goes to court

  18. It doesn’t matter whether you hate Brady of the patriots. I can certainly understand that. I hated the Steelers and Dolphins in the 70’s, so I get it. But what the NFL has done to brady and the Patriots should scare the fans of every NFL team. Because someday it may be your team that is in GODell’s crosshairs to hide his incompetence in his job. Much like a politician that puts his finger in the wind to see which way his ruling should go, GODell is the real problem here. You could hire any upper management person from a number of companies and pay them $10m a year and they would do a better job.
How come every important decision he has made, has been over turned by an independent arbiter?
Why did he refuse to use one in Brady’s appeal?
Name one decision he has got right?
Why is the NFL office littered with failed ex Jet employees?
Why does the NFL have 30 vice presidents?
Why did GODell refuse to turn over his cell phone for the Meuller report?
Why didn’t GODell, Kensil, and other people involved in the witch hunt not turn over their cell phones in the Wells report?
Why was no one fired over the erroneous report of 11 out of 12 balls deflated more than 2 psi below minimum?
If he is punishing Brady for not cooperating, why did he sit with Wells for hours and answer every question? Sounds like cooperation to me.
Why would he turn over his personal phone to the NFL, full well knowing the NFL encourages leaks, and does nothing to punish the people that allow them?
I could go on and on, but most fans get the idea. The Wells “report” took one text message, and based all the punishments on that one text.
I don’t think GODell is going to reduce the punishment. Brady is going to court. Everyone says just admit it and get on with it. But what if he did not do anything wrong? Would you admit something you didn’t do? I hope after Brady sues the league, and wins because everyone does, it is the end of the incompetence in the NFL offices. And not just Roger.
    Rant over.

    holy crap, are you jealous.

  20. I feel bad for the people who thought/hoped that Brady’s legacy would take a hit from “deflate-gate”. Cause at the end of the day there will be no asterisks on his Lombardi trophies, his MVP awards, or his regular season and playoff individual/team accomplishments and when it’s all said and done he will stroll into the HOF as a first ballot inductee.

Now I understand the distaste for the Patriots organization. Brady’s life is almost nauseatingly perfect (the GQ looks, super model wife, on the field success, and money), Bellichick is just not a very likable character (the arrogance, poor attitude, and tendency to push the limits on rules/regulations), and Kraft talks out of both sides of his mouth from time to time (his unwavering support for Goodell pre-deflate gate is only one key example)……

But at the end of the day the Patriots have been able to do something that no NFL franchise has done since the league implemented the salary cap, and that’s win consistently year in and year out.

And for a guy who grew up going to Patriots games in the late 80’s and early 90’s (when the fights in the parking lot were more entertaining than what the team was doing on the field) I am not going to complain about the short comings of the team, it’s coach, his QB, or the owner. I just sit back and enjoy the unprecedented success.

    GO PATS!

  21. If Goode ignores the fact that the laws of physics fully explain any air pressure reduction, doesn’t he need to suspend Andrew Luck too?

The Colts footballs were also “deflated”

For the love of god stop comparing Brady to Rodgers. Yes Rodgers likes his balls at the full inflation and would prefer them over inflated actually. BUT at no point ever has he told anyone to alter the ball AFTER inspection. There is a huge difference here. Is it a coincidence that the Ravens had suspicion of deflation and then the balls are found to be deflated? is it a coincidence that deflategate happens and we find out the ball boy took the balls to the only place in the stadium without cameras? Ofcourse not. Just stop comparing brady to rodgers, or brady to Eli who says he spends months preparing his footballs. Both Rodgers and Eli play with balls that pass inspection and then are not altered after that moment.

Yes it’s been proven. First, the balls, after being reinflated to regulation PSI at half time, did not deflate AT ALL in the second half, nor did the Colts balls that were measured. This proves that the balls could not possibly have deflated BY THEMSELVES.

Second, before he was able to alter the footballs, Tom Brady was one of the NFL’s worst fumblers, fumbling 43 times his first 6 seasons, a pace that would have made him the NFL’s 6th worst fumbler of all time. After he was able to deflate the footballs, he’s only fumbled 26 times in 8 years, a pace that drops him out of the top 100 worst fumblers.

Both of these FACTS are proof that the balls were deliberately altered for competitive advantage, and that the advantage gained was significant and probably led to many undeserved victories over the years.

Yea because bills fans arent defending him, he is wrong and should be punished. We arent naive fools who back our players and coaches blindly no matter how wrong they are. 30. PFT message board post a few days ago: “even if he did it….yada yada Carolina/Minnesota did it too….” ☺️discuss
Randy Moss yesterday: ” If he did it ,so what?”

Pats nation has got to be tired of this Goodell. This is not what 80% of post championship offseason talk is suppose to be about.
I know NE has a rep for pushing the envelope but you, Roger, have played a large role in all of this. It needs to end and you need to step down. Roger you are in a lose/lose predicament.

If you reduce Brady’s suspension down to nothing, Pats nation of course will be able to say, see told you so…..
But others will cry foul and compare it to Spygate, where more evidence was destroyed in Foxboro after your ruling.

If you stand by the shoddy Wells report Pats nation will be outraged for a number of reasons ( hateuscauseuaintus, science , etc) and then of course everyone else will talk about that fourth asterisk.
Whether Brady is suited up or in streetclothes that Thursday night opener is going to set some records for viewing ratings I would imagine. Congrats Roger, but what an expense…..

  31. Yeah Moss loved the pats was the happiest time of his NFL career. He needed structure and discipline or he’d go off the rails and he knew that.

  32. It’s an absolute joke that most of you are upset about an average of .04 psi missing from balls, it was not even close to 2 psi like the initial false reports sated. Why would brady request to have such a small and precise amount of air taken out? It is impossible for two schmucks to be able to precisely take out that amount of air and that amount of pressure in a ball makes 0 difference. Games are played all of the time with that little of air taken out which is due to regular atmospheric conditions as well as the ball being used for the full game. If the balls are inflated 12.5 psi then that small drop is completely normal.

  33. Not a surprise that the Greatest WR of all-time, Randy Moss, is in the corner of his good friend and the Greatest QB of all-time, Tom Brady.

Also not a surprise that Bills fans continue to post whining jealous comments directed at the Pats or Pats fans on every thread; clearly those Bills fans are upset that their team can only get in the news when Marcell Dareus or Aaron Kromer are getting arrested for being true dirt bags, while the Pats get in the news for truly insignificant things like winning Super Bowls.

  34. “Yes it’s been proven. First, the balls, after being reinflated to regulation PSI at half time, did not deflate AT ALL in the second half, nor did the Colts balls that were measured. This proves that the balls could not possibly have deflated BY THEMSELVES.”

-2 of the 4 colt’s balls they tested were under 12.5 and they filled the Pats balls to well above 12.5 which is why they did not drop below 12.5 in the second half. Pats also outscored the colts 28-0 playing with the extra inflated balls.

Just like there is absolutely “no proof” Brady told anyone to alter the balls after inspection.

  36. As soon as the equipment guys testify under oath that they were not directed by Brady to deflate the balls I will believe it. As long as the Patriots hide these people from the media I have no choice but to think Brady is guilty of cheating and lying about it.

He looked pretty good didn’t he? Especially in the 4th when your Hawks couldn’t stop him. Stop being so A$$ hurt because the team you root for lost!

  38. The evidence is so inconclusive that the actual consequence is worse for the leagues credibility.

Mr.Capone…I mean Goodell cannot expect the world to believe that he is the impartial judge in this case.

It is a joke and if anyone should be disciplined it should be the referees for knowingly allowing the balls to be played with after they were out of their possession….

No one can cheat if you enforce the rules

  39. How is Cycling the only respectable sport? They ACTUALLY punish cheaters, taking away Lance’s titles. Baseball should not allow Barry or A-rod to hold any records and if guilty Brady shouldnt either. To athletes money is of no issue to them- so fining them means absolutely nothing. Thats like fining me $10 for a DUI…………so how does that stop me from doing it again???

  40. even if he didn’t do it or if he did: not to the extent he’s accused of, I hope Brady writes his own version of “If I Did It: Here’s How”

  41. Moss defends Brady because he dreams of what could have been. Imagine what kind of Stats Moss would have if he played his entire career with Brady. He shattered NFL records in New England after he was already over the hill. He could have had several years with 30 or more TDs. Nobody could cover him. I think he’d have over 300 TDs for his career.

The balls varied in deflation amount, from .04-2psi. And “atmospheric” pressure was not the issue because when inflated to normal 12.5 psi at halftime the balls didnt even drop .01 psi in the entire second half. So lets cut the “weather” excuse lol. If this were weather caused then balls used in Green Bay would be 4 PSI low by end of a game. And to us .5 psi is nothing, but to someone who throws tens of thousands of passes its a big deal. When u have 300lbs lineman trying to stripp the ball, any extra give in that ball that u can dig ur fingers into makes a huge difference. This yr will be the yr we know for sure how much difference it made- if their fumbles continue to be very low this yr then ill eat my words and say the deflation didnt make a big difference. BUT if they fumble like they did from 00-06 then id have to argue that the last 8 years has completely been tainted. Pats lose a lot more games with more fumbles, losing home field advantage of playoffs and possibly not even making the playoffs. So by the end of this football yr we will know for sure, right now its speculation.

  43. It’s not a big deal that he softened the balls up a bit. Even other Hall of Fame QBs said everyone did it. It became a big deal because of the angry denials by the organization, demands for apologies, throwing the Colts under the bus, and forcing the commissioner to conduct an independent investigation.

In other words, the Pats made it a big deal. They would have received a slap on the wrist if they had just come clean in the first place and everyone would have moved on.

  44. Brady cheated on his pregnant wife. Brady cheated the NFL game for years, conspiring with multiple NFL employees with hush money, etc. Sure…Randy…just a bunch of air.

  45. He didn’t cheat at all. Trolls can continue this cluster bleep, but it’s long been just a room of you fools circle slapping.

  46. @letsgobuffalo4, obviously , you aren’t old enough to remember when your team was dominating the AFC east. Here is a history lesson for you. They ran an offense they called the K gun. Basically , a hurry up offense. Well, after years of crying by fan base’s of teams that kept getting whupped by your powerful Bills(really it’s true), it was deemed to be unsportsmanlike. In fact, some even said it was the only reason Jim Kelly was any good. He needed to trick the other team to win. The rules were changed. The defense had to be allowed time to substitute.
Yet, there are no asterisks beside those 4 straight super bowls. Perhaps because they were losses, and no matter how much we hated the Bills, we kinda felt a little sorry for them. Jimbo was a great QB. Tommy is a great QB. Try and enjoy watching them when they are around. I assure you, seeing Tom Brady hobbling off the field a broken man in his last game, won’t be rewarding at all.

  47. Yes it’s been proven. First, the balls, after being reinflated to regulation PSI at half time, did not deflate AT ALL in the second half, nor did the Colts balls that were measured. This proves that the balls could not possibly have deflated BY THEMSELVES.
    ————————————————————
Wrong. What has been proven is that the footballs normalize to room temperature from game field conditions in slightly more than fifteen minutes. The post-game measurements were not conducted within fifteen minutes of bringing the balls inside. Believe it or not the laws of physics which govern the known universe did not suspend themselves for the second half of the AFC championship game. But keep trying…If you cough up enough silly crap Goodell might find a job for you in his office or even pay you 5 million for a bunch of words on paper that would flunk undergraduate classes in any credible school.

  48. Brady was never married to what’s her name and we have no idea the terms of their relationship or how it ended. 54. Deflation due to the elements of Nature/Science/Ideal Gas Law has been thoroughly covered. What has not been discussed is the obvious dilemma for the NFL from the other end of the Thermometer.

What about footballs inflated/deflated in an Air Conditioned Room, let’s say 68 degrees, and the games could be in Miami, Phoenix or Houston with outdoor temperature around 90 degrees, added to that the footballs BAKING in the
Sun could raise their temperature close to 100 degrees. PSI of those footballs at Half Time would be well over 13.5 psi.Possibly as high as 16.0 psi.

These results would further the embarrassment of Goodell & the NFL. It would also solidify Brady’s innocence by highlighting two Monumental Facts:
#1.) No Evidence of Deliberate Rule 17 violation
#2.) Ideal Gas Law ( Weather = Wind Rain Cold Heat ) CONTROLS the fluctuation of psi levels of footballs during any given NFL football game. Sometimes causing Deflation below12.5 psi and other times causing Inflation above 13.5 psi.

Can the next 8th Grade Science student provide for us this scientific experiment/analysis.

  55. “Fine morality and integrity there, Moss.

So what if Joe Stalin killed millions of his countrymen?”

Yeah, because even though the science shows the balls were not deflated by anything but temperature change, and even if it was done, that deflating a football is the equivalent of killing millions of people.

You obviously didn’t even read the Wells report, much less anything else. If you had you would know that the Patriot balls measured after the game were in the 13.2 to 13.65 range. They were instructed to be filled to 13.0 at halftime but obviously they were filled much higher than that. So much for your statement they were filled to 12.5. SO if that is a lie, how much of the rest of what you say is untrue…..about 90%

Both Rodgers and Eli play with balls that pass inspection and then are not altered after that moment.
    =====
Here you lie yet again. How do you know if these balls pass inspection? Until this AFCCG noone has ever measured the footballs during or after the game. I am willing to bet alot of money that a football inflated to 13.5 in a cold greenbay game would drop below 12.5 psi. Why do you think Rodgers likes them over inflated?

“You Brady/Pats haters are the most sanctimonious, holier-than-thou clowns on the interwebs.
    SMH”

Said the redundant, self righteous, hypocrite.

  63. “Fine morality and integrity there, Moss.

So what if Joe Stalin killed millions of his countrymen?”

Well I guess that’s ONE way to avoid Godwin’s Law….

Why invoke the horrors of Hitler and Nazi Germany when you can invoke the horrors of Stalin and the Soviets’ instead?

  64. @swagger52,

Your hero Ray Lewis has six children with four different women to which non he was/is married to.

But then again, what to expect from a franchise that builds a statue to someone who was convicted of obstruction of justice where two people were murdered and Ray knows who they are.

Same franchise that has their city put under curfew because it can’t control their citizens.

    The Baltimore Wirens

  65. “”Ooops…Brady wasn’t married to his girlfriend that he knocked up and left her for another when she was pregnant.
    He wasn’t married.

Oh that is much better. According to Pats fans, that behavior is fine as long as he wasn’t married.”

Always laugh at people who act like Brady having a child with a woman he’s not married to is some sort of huge ethical issue. There are literally millions of kids in this country born to people who aren’t married.

The only issue anyone should have is if the father pays child support or not to the former partner for care of his child. And I don’t think there’s any doubt at all that Brady pays a huge child support payment every month, on time.

But hey, anything to whine and act self righteous about if you don’t like the Pats.

  66. Free Jim McNally and John Jastremski, let them speak the truth on deflating!

  67. Hasn’t it been shown that the NFL does not need proof? This is not court. Ben R. was never charged with a thing and he got 4 games. Saints coach didn’t know a thing about Bounty Gate & got a full season off. The investigation showed that Brady did not cooperate and the Pats have been found to cheat previously. 4 games. Get over it and quit whining Pats fans. It’s not that other teams don’t try to get a competitive advantage, it’s just that they aren’t foolish enough to get caught over and over again.

  68. I think it was Troy Vincent who gave Mort the false 10.5 psi numbers. But it really could have been any of about 12 of those weasels in the NY office.
And still Goodell stays silent about this.
The PR team, forget about it.

  69. One last thing;
it is beyond ridiculous that Wells, Goodell and everybody involved
assume that the Patriot footballs were all exactly 12.5 psi pregame.
The refs inflate until they look and feel about right, and call it a day. You know how small that guage and numbers are? Highly unlikely footballs are exactly as requested, as shown by the after halftime numbers. They threw some more air in there at halftime and tossed them back on the field. Keystone cops there at the time had no clue about ideal gas law.

  70. Tom Brady’s suspension will be completely overturned By Goodell. And he will be given a $25k-$50K fine for not cooperating with Wells only. A $50k fine is what Brett Favre got for revealing himself over the internet and allegedly harassing a Jets trainer. While not giving up his cell phone or records to NFL investigators. Roger Goodell knows that will be the embarrassing precedent that will sink his goose, if Brady takes this to court.

  71. Brady and Moynihan broke up in December and his son was born in September. Even you 40 yr old virgins should be able to do that math. Moynihan has stated Brady didn’t know until after the relationship was over, and by all accounts he’s an exemplary fater. Another hater legend blown up with facts.

  72. Brady should get nothing, Chargers cheated and so did the Falcons , why did they get didn’t lose draft choice it’s a big comedy act..

  73. The best part of this long thread of Comments are the Stats: all Patriots fans are in denial and support Brady and every single other fan of every single other team says he is a CHEATER.

Who cares if players use PEDS? who cares of Incognito called another 300 lb Linemen names? who cares if Josh Gordon and Dion Jordan smoke some weed? Who cares if Rothlesburger had some fun with girls in a bar, who cares if Ray Rice wants to offer a right hook in an elavator. Hey Patriots Fans… Tom Brady is a great QB, but he broke the rules and you know it. It is not a serious crime, but then again neither is every violation mentioned above. It is however against the rules and CHEATING. This will never go away. Ask Pete Rose.

  74. Randy used the word “IF”.

But most of the moron, low IQ, live in their mothers’ basements Pats haters on here don’t have the grey matter to even understand that.

  75. When did America turn into North Korea, declaring people guilty without any real evidence?

You moron Brady haters need to admit one thing. If you were given the EXACT SAME set of facts, but it involved some team OTHER THAN THE PATRIOTS, and it involved some quarterback OTHER THAN TOM BRADY, you would not give half a rat’s ass about this artificially made up, meaningless, so-called “controversy”. If its some other team, you could not care less.

Because its the Patriots, and because they win, you suspend all common sense. FACT.

  76. Letsgobuffalo, let the Pats use Aaron Rogers all they want. It just proves the point that Brady preferred under inflated balld. Pats fans have demanded proof that Brady liked under inflated balls, where there it is.

  77. Randy Moss should field a car in NASCAR – they have a multiyear champion who drives for Rick Hendrick not named the Earnhardt brat or Jeffie Sue Gordon who has been caught and penalized no less than 14 times for non-compliant vehicles (that means cheating) and each year he has won the championship, he’s cheated and been caught.

Rick Hendrick will hire you, Randy. Jeffie Sue will be going part time and you can take over his rainbow car.

  78. Brady supporters need to remember that Brady has stated that he has no no knowledge of any thing. So he is not making the claim that the balls were not deflated, but that he didn’t know about it. And even if the comissioner does not believe him, his crime doesn’t fit the crime. And that Vincent had no authority to hand down punishment.

    ________________________________________________________________

Let’s just talk facts. Rodgers admits he likes them overinflated. He tries to sneak them in. There is nothing illegal about that, as he does not tamper with them after inspection (or at least no evidence exists that he does).

Brady likes them on the low to middle end of the legal range. That is fact as evidenced his texts provided in the Wells report, He does not tamper with them after inspection (or at least no evidence exists that he does).

Anybody taking a different position on either of these quarterbacks is basing it on speculation with no facts.

So just let them be. Maybe if the NFL was more competent in tbeir game day procedures, this whole fiasco could have been avoided.

  80. Dewey, that is not correct. Brady has had balls submitted that were lower than legal limits. If the ref’s let them pass, no problem. With each and every ball Brady has submitted for inspection that were under legal limits, is proof of his preference. I have no problem with any body sneaking balls past inspection. It’s up to the ref’s then. However, altering after wards is wrong. And you proved another point, the qbs no the flaws of the system.

  81. Was the cloud of smoke surrounding Randy Moss when he made these remarks as thick as it was the last time he discussed on-field professionalism as a member of the Oakland Raiders?

  82. Did bobnelsonjr REALLY compare Joseph Stalin killing millions of people to some air let out of some footballs??? Geesh what a sad outlook on life. He needs to get one. Life, that is….

  83. Haters, did you see the way Brady came back from 10 points down in the fourth quarter to beat what was said to be the best defense in the history of the NFL?

Did you see the faith his head coach put in him?

Did you see how hard his teammates played for him, especially Edelman?

Did you see that will to win transfer to even a rookie corner who made possibly the greatest play in super bowl history?

Did you see my favorite moment, when Roger Goodell, who looked like his dog died, sulked off the podium after Brady was handed not only the Lombardi Trophy but the super bowl MVP trophy?

  84. Guys, the NFL’s whole case is bogus but they could have gone after the team, instead of singling out Brady, calling him a liar and a cheat, suspending him for four games, and docking him millions in lost wages. All without a shred of evidence.

This was a hit job worthy of Tonya Harding and her hooligans. Only in this case, it was a professional sports league, the NFL, whose owners were sick and tired of losing to Brady and the Patriots, and who took Brady’s post Raven’s playoff game comments as salting their wounds. Those owners, the NFL’s Tonya Hardings, had their dutiful servants in the NFL offices in NYC takeout Brady, change rules that Belichick could exploit, took away two draft choices, and made sure Revis went back to the Jets.

NFL owners, that resemble the characters in Mean Girls, were so pleased with themselves that they leaked to their friends in the media and let their wives post gleefully on Twitter about the NFL’s investigation and the Patriots’ penalties. Now that the case against Brady has been revealed as a frame job they are all as silent as church mice.

  85. The fumble numbers, the texts, the hour long convo with the deflaters…he’s guilty.

If it was no big deal, then why waste so much energy lying about it?

Where were you Wells report detectives during Roethlisberger’s sexual assault case? He’s guilty too.

Don’t know science and now you show you don’t understand statistics and math. The moron who came up with the fumble data got his math mixed up. Instead of calculating based of fumbles per plays he did his calculations on plays per fumble. So you can follow his logic but you are also someone likely to believe that 2+2 = 8

Fumble data – debunked (same fumble rate road/home)
Texts – Out of context. Only prove Brady asked balls to be at 13 PSI
Long convo – Were you there? Didn’t think so. Maybe they were saying WTF is going on. When every football fan in the US is talking about it, you probably want to be sure everyone is on the same page regardless if you did anything wrong.

It’s time you and letsgobuffalo start backing up your statements with more than your own speculation. Because to date on this subject you speak like you have some knowledge the public isn’t privy to. Such as one post where you claimed what Brady did and didn’t use in his defense. Given it is more probable than not that you weren’t in the appeal hearing, nor are you someone on Brady’s legal team, you have no idea what Brady did or didn’t do in his defense.

At this point you are nothing more than a liar.

And Brady ain’t the GOAT. That would be the guy who won 4 in six years, not the guy who won 4 in 15 years. ……. Brady wouldn’t have lasted a single season in any era prior to the 2000’s. Biggest pansy in the history of pro football.
    ========
I would put Montana (even with stickum Rice) over Bradshaw and his steroids… But neither of them even came close to 4 super bowl wins, 6 super bowl appearances, 6 AFC championships and 9 AFC appearances in 13 years (cause Brady missed ’08).

As for the toughness factor, there isn’t a quarterback in the past that would still be living if the faster, stronger players of today were allowed to go after them.

  90. “I would put Montana (even with stickum Rice) over Bradshaw and his steroids… But neither of them even came close to 4 super bowl wins, 6 super bowl appearances, 6 AFC championships and 9 AFC appearances in 13 years (cause Brady missed ’08).”

    =========================
    a) Montana only ever went to the playoffs when he had a top ten defense. When his defense was not top ten… he stayed home for the holidays.

    b) Otto Graham played 10 years, went to ten Championship games, and won 7 Championships. Four of those Championships came in the AAFL before they merged. He won three more in the NFL and never broke stride.

  91. So what if we put WRs in a bear hug preventing them from catching the ball? So what if we jumped offsides and sacked the QB because of it?

So what if we illegally taped other teams and then won a Super Bowl? So what if our QB illegally deflated footballs and won a Super Bowl?

So these are called cheating Randy. Cheating.

Cheating is what you do when you admit you’re not good enough to win by playing by the rules.

  92. Yeah Moss loved the pats was the happiest time of his NFL career. He needed structure and discipline or he’d go off the rails and he knew that.

so what was the deal when he was in minnesota buring folks to death? when he played with a legit qb he terrorized people.look at larry fitzgerald after kurt warner left same thing.

  93. As for the toughness factor, there isn’t a quarterback in the past that would still be living if the faster, stronger players of today were allowed to go after them

ok why not they were allowed to get hammered back then .also if you could play back then you still would be in the nfl today if you could turn the hands of time back?just like tim tebow would not be a starter in 1980 either.

You obviously haven’t read Brian Burke on the subject, he confirmed a suspiciously significant drop in fumbles after the rule change. He didn’t get his math mixed up, he just used math you don’t understand.
