Vikings cornerback Jabari Price suspended two games

Another player not named Tom Brady has faced the NFL’s Friday Wheel of Justice.

The Vikings announced that cornerback Jabari Price has been suspended two games for violating the league’s substance abuse program.

Price pleaded guilty in December to careless driving after being charged with DWI, making his the standard suspension for guys with drunk driving arrests.

He’s still eligible to participate in training camp and preseason games, but will then miss the next two weeks without pay.

The Vikings are losing some depth at the position, between this suspension and Josh Robinson’s injury.

  1. The Minnesota Vikings will soon show the world how good we truly are.

    14-2 next season.

And our rightfully deserved Lombardi Trophy.

  2. Oh great, now we have to put up with Packer fans talking about how the Vikings are always trying to emulate the Packers. We still have a long way to go, though!

  3. Another Vikings players getting suspended…..
Don’t these guys have mentors to look up to?

Sure they do – Tommy Kramer. He set the standards for Vikes driving shloshed all the time.

    He’d be Green Bay’s #1.

    By a long shot.

    A. No he wouldn’t.
    B. You’re saying this on an article that has absolutely no mention of the Green Bay Packers. This tells us that you simply link football to Packers immediately.
Probably due to the Vikings atrocious record against team in recent years.
    C. Even if he was “#1 in Green Bay by a long shot” why are you saying it in an article about a Vikings player being suspended?
    D. Your username is stevent92. I’m assuming that means you were born in 92 and your last name begins with a T? So your username is just as unoriginal as your comment.

  5. Price pleaded guilty in December to careless driving after being charged with DWI, making his the standard suspension for guys with drunk driving arrests.
    ______________
Just so i’m clear, he was not convicted of drunk driving then? So he got suspended for careless driving?? Something is wrong here is he was only charged but never convicted of DWI

  6. For a guy on the bubble, this is very bad news. Price was no higher than the 6th CB on the roster, with the addition of Waynes and Newman.

He may have had a chance to land the 5th CB spot with Robinson injured, but not now. I’d be shocked if he made the final roster.

  7. My proposal won’t ever happen, but I suggest doing away with all long term deals. Make everyone play for just that season. The team then would have right of first refusal on all offers after each season on each player. So much movement each season anyways. This would put a stop to the Albert Haynesworths and this clown in the league who sign big money guaranteed up front.

  8. I wouldn’t say the Vikings are trying to emulate the Packers in suspensions.
But I do agree they have a long, looooong way to go –
to emulate the Packers in World championships.

  9. oh no, they plays the 9ers and Lions. they’ll be fine.

    and after sam shields, yeah.
green bays secondary took a hit this offseason. thats why they went S/CB rd 1-2.

  10. “Saints released Junior Galette.”

Just plug that LB into a CB spot, eh?
    Sounds good.

  11. The Minnesota Vikings will soon show the world how good we truly are.

    14-2 next season.

With both losses to the Packers.

  12. Ouch! Vegas already has the 49ers as 3.5 to 4 pt favorites in week 1 (yes, it’s true – look it up), and now MN loses a player for the game. Funny, too, because no team has fallen as far as the 49ers this offseason, yet they are still favored over MN.

  15. The Vikings are improving but they should ignore their most vocal fans and concentrate on overcoming the Lions before they can even pretend to be in competition with the Packers in 2015.

FWIW – I think stevent92 was a little over the top with his post, but so are you.

He was responding to a Packer troll and made a brief comment.

You chose to write a book and throw insults at Steven.

You don’t want to know what this tells me about you…

The Vikings want to win the Division so they can have at least 1 home playoff game.

Setting our sights on beating the defending Division champions is the first step in obtaining that goal.

The last time our two squads lined up, it was just a 3 point squeaker by GB.

The teams aren’t that far apart.

The loss of Jabari Price, whether for 2 games or forever, isn’t a significant deal for the Vikings.

I think the addition of AP and Mike Wallace, along with a number of very promising draft picks bodes favorably for my favorite team.

  18. The 2015 Minnesota Vikings were 0-7 against teams with a .500 record or better.

They were 1-5 against the rest of the NFC North.
With a stunning 13-9 win over the Bears in week 17. Congrats.

The Vikings could have swept Green Bay last year and still would have ended up in 3rd place.

Maybe they should just concentrate on overcoming the Lions.

  19. 2015 is over. we’re reporting to camp. we’re all 0-0 now. focus on your current team.

    a historian + a crybaby = a packer fan.

    —————-

SKOLOLOLOLOL…………..except in talent and record. If the teams weren’t that far apart, the Vikings would have beaten a team above .500 or won more than 5 games.

You also seem to conveniently forget the 42-10 butt kicking and the fact that while the 2nd game was only a 3 point differential, the outcome was never really in question. They just happened to score a TD and a 2 point conversion late in the game to make it look closer than it really was.

Please indicate which comment by a “Packer Troll” the post was in response to. There is only 1 comment by a non-Vikings fan previous to stevent92’s and it reads “at least it’s not the whizzonator or love boat lol” which has nothing to do with any talent level concerning Green Bay’s defensive backs.

So you lied, then insulted me with an insinuating passive aggressive remark. I don’t have to say “you don’t want to know what this tells me about you” It tells me you’re as respectable as the NFL front office or your average politician running for office.

Vikings fans have only contempt for historians, as they need employ none of their own.

  23. Can’t we just let Vikings articles be Viking articles and Packer’s articles be Packer articles and stop comparing the size of our manhood? Then we can all concentrate on what is truly important: hating the Bears.

  24. 2015 is over. we’re reporting to camp. we’re all 0-0 now. focus on your current team.

Yes. You are correct. This is when Vikings fans really shine. When they talk crap and make bold promises about the upcoming season BEFORE they aren’t able to when the actual games start being played.

Then like usual……you scurry away into the hole you came from. One winning season in the last 5. Pfffffft
