Packers have no word on when Andrew Quarless will report to camp

Packers tight end Andrew Quarless is not at training camp, and coach Mike McCarthy doesn’t know when he’ll report.

“Andrew Quarless is dealing with an extremely difficult family situation right now. He will be gone as long as he has to be,” McCarthy said today.

Quarless was arrested in Miami this month on charges of firing a gun during an argument outside a parking garage. That case is pending, and Quarless could face discipline under the league’s personal-conduct policy.

But he apparently is dealing with other personal issues at the moment, and so there’s no word on when he’ll be with the team.

  1. I don’t think this is any big deal. Quarless has been in the system long enough to know what’s going on and I think he’s about to become the situational backup to Richard Rodgers anyways.

Unless, of course, he stuffed leaves in his kid’s mouth and beat the kid with a stick until his scrotum bed. In that case, he must go… and go right now.

  2. I don’t know. I as a Packer fan am torn. TE is a weakness for this team but I also know what he did was just stupid. I suspect that incident is the tip of the iceberg of some real issues coming to the surface for him whether it be chemical or emotional in nature. And if that is the case lets hope he is getting some help.

  3. This may seem like trolling because I’m a Vikings fan but I have a question about the personal conduct policy… Because he didn’t know the ladies he got into an argument with when he fired a gun into the air he’s allowed to play, but if it was a family member or girlfriend he was arguing with when he fired the gun he’d be on the exempt list and unable to play but get paid? Right?

  4. No Packer fan is happy to see Quarless is still on the team, but at least we’re not reading all Vikings stories any more. Now that the real teams have reported, football has started.

  5. I wouldn’t worry too much, Rogers looks like a solid TE. I would be more worried about The packers WRs botching on side kicks!

  6. jeez cabbage, a member of the dudes family could be dead and you gotta bring the vikings into everything.

    grow up man.

  7. Difficult family situation. Hmmm, let me think…

The Packer could not care less for Andrew cowardly firing a gun in frustration for getting turned down trying to hook up at a club but maybe the wife cares a bit more than not at all.

  8. Typical green and yellow slime. At least AP didn’t do anything illegal!

    Huh?

“Minnesota Vikings’ star running back Adrian Peterson was briefly detained in a Texas jail early on Saturday charged with injuring a child, according to the website of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.”

  9. Maybe Quarless has a 2 year old son on his death bed that he’s never seen before like Adrian Peterson and he needs to meet/see him. Then people can say how tough he is to play in the pre-season game after his son who he never met…died. I hope that’s not the case though.

  10. It’s just going to give everyone else who actually needs reps the practice they need. Q knows what he’s doing already.

  11. Dang it, he’s still mad, so as all the WI people bc they know Packers aren’t going to playoff this year. Just look up history teams who choke in Championship. It’s like 100 to 1 of those team who choke would get back to playoff. Absolutely, not the Packers. LOL!!!

  12. All I know is that the Vikings better make the playoffs this year with all this smack talk their fan base is talking.

Seriously they have to prove their worth this year with that roster and all your fandom talk, and anything less than the div championship and the playoffs is a bust.

This year is all or nothing… if you guys suck again… I will laugh, and laugh, and laugh.

Child abuse may not be illegal in Minnesota, although I’m pretty sure that it is, but it is most definitely illegal in Texas. Not only was it illegal, it was a felony. Smoking weed, which your hero admitted to, while out on bond, is also illegal in Texas. Fame, big money, and a sharp lawyer are the only things that kept that turd out of prison.

  14. “All I know is that the Vikings better make the playoffs this year with all this smack talk their fan base is talking.”

What they do that every year no matter what the situation is, that’s what its like to be the fan of a horribly bad franchise like that. All you have to hang your hat on is making fun of the better teams and trying to act like they suck.

When they know in their hearts their team is faced with another 4-12 season and watching teams like the Pats and Pack in the playoffs every year.

  15. “Dang it, he’s still mad, so as all the WI people bc they know Packers aren’t going to playoff this year. Just look up history teams who choke in Championship. It’s like 100 to 1 of those team who choke would get back to playoff. Absolutely, not the Packers. LOL!!!”

A Viking fan should be able to speak with authority on that topic, I suppose. But speaking with a little more coherence would be a good thing too.

  16. Jared Abbrederis left training camp today with an undisclosed injury (per the Journal-Sentinel). As a Viking’s fan I hope the injury is not very serious and that he will return to the Packers lineup quickly. I want our match-ups with Green Bay to be with all players present and performing at peek strength.

  17. Namecalling, insults, and putdowns. Same old stuff.

When you have no ammunition to fight with, you have to hide and use what you can.

You want to talk fear? The Viking trolls are your example of fear.

  18. Give the whole team off from training camp, then maybe they won’t run out of steam with still a few minutes left in their season.

  19. I get a kick out of how hard the Viking trolls need to work just to get up to a minimum level of an insult. For all we know, Quarless could be dealing with the death of a close family member or some such thing and yet, he’s open game to any Viking troll.

What I do know for sure is the Vikings will struggle just to get to .500 this year, the question of QB for them is still unresolved in 2015, some 10 years after they had two draft picks in the first round and passed on Aaron Rodgers, not once but twice, and the Packers will win 2 games vs. the Vikings making it 6 years in a row to claim that. I don’t know what the Viking trolls would define that as but in my book, its called ownership.

  20. Quarless needs to be freakin suspended for several games, if for nothing else, total stupidity.

  21. “lindacaseauthor says: Quarless needs to be freakin suspended for several games, if for nothing else, total stupidity.”

If stupidity were a suspendable offense in the NFL… wouldn’t they need to suspend most of the Packers organization… along with all of it’s fan base?

  22. I would like to nominate codythao for the “moron of the year” award.
The prize is a one way ticket back to Nam.
