The Saints added a former Patriots cornerback this offseason when they signed Brandon Browner as a free agent and another one is reportedly set to work out for them on Thursday.

Josina Anderson of ESPN reports that Alfonzo Dennard will be at Saints camp in an attempt to earn a job. The Cardinals released Dennard last week after claiming him off of waivers from the Patriots in May.

Dennard played just six games for the Patriots last season as injuries kept him out of the lineup much of the time and he’s seen action in 29 games since the Pats selected him in the seventh round of the 2012 draft. Dennard was projected to go earlier, but a pre-draft arrest pushed him to the last round and many felt New England had a potential steal. It hasn’t worked out that way, but perhaps he’ll get another shot in New Orleans.

If he does, he’ll join Devin Breaux, Kyle Wilson, Stanley Jean-Baptiste, P.J. Williams and Damian Swann in the competition for spots behind Browner and Keenan Lewis at corner.
