Four years ago, quarterback Tim Tebow was regarded by some Broncos as the fourth best quarterback in training camp, even though he was listed as No. 3 on the depth chart. In 2015, Tebow officially has landed at the bottom of a four-man quarterback depth chart.
The Eagles have released their initial depth chart of the year, and the quarterback position goes like this: (1) Sam Bradford; (2) Mark Sanchez; (3) Matt Barkley; and (4) Tim Tebow.
It’s possible the Eagles have opted to pump up Barkley in a bit in the hopes of making a last-ditch effort to trade him. Or maybe Tebow simply earned his spot as the fourth finisher in a four-man race.
Not that his spot matters. With the Broncos, Tebow eventually vaulted from No. 3 to No. 1 when Kyle Orton was benched. In Philly, coach Chip Kelly may have plans for using Tebow that have nothing to do with where he lands on the pecking order.
For now, though, Tebow officially occupies a spot reserved for one of the 37 guys sent packing when the 90-man roster drops to 53.
