Peyton Manning feared Patriots bugging visitors’ locker room

AP

Since the Spygate story broke in 2007, there’s been a widespread perception around the NFL that the Patriots cheat. But in the years between Spygate and Deflategate, those accusations amounted to little more than rumor and innuendo.

Still, the rumors and innuendo affected the way NFL teams prepared to play against the Patriots. And the player who has been the Patriots’ biggest rival, Peyton Manning, took specific steps to combat the possibility that the Patriots were cheating.

That’s the word from former Colts coach Tony Dungy, who said on the Dan Patrick Show that when the Colts were playing in New England, Manning would leave the visitors’ locker room and go into an adjacent hallway when he wanted to discuss specific plays the Colts were going to run because Manning feared the locker room was bugged. Dungy said he doesn’t know if the Patriots’ locker room really was bugged, but he did confirm that a 2010 Peter King report about Manning’s concerns was accurate.

“I know that that is very true, and, you know, as Peyton talked to guys who played for the Patriots, some of the guys who came over — whether it’s true or not he treated it as true. We didn’t have a lot of strategy discussions inside the locker room there,” Dungy said.

Dungy stressed that he doesn’t know that the Patriots were cheating, but that Manning didn’t want to take any chances.

“Peyton takes everything to the nth degree,” Dungy said.

And, if the rumor and innuendo are to be believed, so do the Patriots.

  1. No mention of The Colts cranking the heat and turning off the cold water in the locker room for the 2006 playoffs when the Pats team had the flu…. interesting.

  2. Do we know whether the Patriots are the only team Manning did this with? Or is this a possibility he guards against with all teams?

  3. Oh c’mon this Patriots bashing is getting ridiculous.. I don’t even like them. They have kicked everybody’s ass for 15 years (except for my Giants).. Manning you and your teams as gotten smashed by the Patriots for 15 years…

  4. Tony”Holy than Though” Dungy – I’ve never met a more religious man with such anger, jealousy and petty hatred in his heart. Giving the media and NFL exactly what they want. Such a righteous hypocrite.

  5. Oh, maybe THAT’s why Peyton hasn’t won in Foxboro since 2006? He’s afraid that they’re listening to every word, and that’s why he keeps choking in the game!

And I thought it was because BB had the ability to tilt the field to make Peyton play uphill, or BB had mind-controlling abilities!

  6. Awesome!! The Patriots are in everyone’s head. So cool. The team is in everyone’s head and their star QB refuses to “submit” to the Commish and won’t kiss his ring.
It is such a great feeling to be a Patriots fan.

  7. That’s funny, the Patriots and every other team that played the Colts under Dungy feared them funneling in fake crowd noise to make it louder than it really was for opposing teams.

  8. Cheaters gonna cheat. I am sure there is funny business with the mic in Brady’s Helmet staying on too.

  9. HAHA probably. Remember Pats fans will say, “everybody’s doing it” whenever the Pats get caught cheating but they’re the only ones that get caught. Maybe that’s because the more you do something the higher the chances are you get caught. It’s like a drunk driver. Chances are someone who gets arrested for drunk driving has had many successful rides home after having too much to drink before they end up getting arrested. It’s highly unlikely a drunk driver gets arrested on the first time the do it.

  10. There are far too many stories like this for all this to be untrue.
I remember after the AFC Championship game between NE and Pitt, Jerome Bettis stated to an on-field reporter “it was like they knew everything we were going to do”. After that, Spygate broke. But people argued that it could not be a “competitive advantage”. Really? Knowing what the other team was going to run and calling the perfect D to defend against it wasn’t a “competitive advantage”?
Others now say that deflating footballs isn’t an advantage – um yes it it – improved grip for throwing, catching, and holding on to the ball is a HUGE advantage.
    Classless organization!!!

  11. No wonder Peyton’s forehead is so big….Belichick occupies a lot of space in there

  12. Here we go, the latest installment in one man’s paranoia becomes reality. I think if this continues the Patriots will likely be implicated in the Kennedy assassination

  13. Just says what everyone but Judge Breenan already knows. The Patriots are a shady organization, lead by shady individuals who will bend/break the rules at EVERY chance they get. RIDING DIRTY should be played at EVERY away game when the PATs take the Field!!

  14. ok so there was no chance that the Pats could have heard anything Payton was saying….AND HE STILL WAS BEATEN TIME AFTER TIME AFTER TIME….go figure

  15. All intelligent, educated and informed football fans know the World Champions, the NFL’s Greatest Dynasty and Team of the 21st century is in everyone’s heads.

That’s why everyone was paranoid about them and still to this day. 🙂

  16. OK, so let’s dispense with the obvious first: the Patriots did not and do not bug the opponent’s locker room. The notion that they do is clearly silly and infantile.

Which is why this story is so terrific. The Patriots and Belichick so owned Manning (and the rest of the league) over the years, that Manning (and the rest of the league) have convinced themselves that the Patriots and Belichick must be cheating. That is an incredible level of owned! That someone can be so good at their job that they have actually crawled that far inside their opponents’ heads is something very few people achieve in life.

Sadly, all the unfounded fear and paranoia that is rooted in a basic rule violation that provided no actual competitive advantage (“spygate”) has culminated this offseason with the League – with the encouragement of many psychologically damaged franchises – conducting a witch hunt against the Patriots and their biggest star. It is an embarrassment for the League and some of its franchises, but it is an absolute badge of honor for Belichick – and don’t believe for a second he doesn’t see it as such.

  17. They’re cheating ways are in everyone’s head. They’re the best cheaters of all time. By best, I mean, everytime they cheat, its difficult to prove it even though its OBVIOUS. They’re the politicians of sports.

Denial is a terrible terrible disease.

  18. Yea right…and they drugged the visitors Gatorade too. The Pats don’t have to do anything to mess with the competition. They spook themselves now. This is a ridiculous story.

  19. Tony was asked if the 2010 report was true. He confirmed it was true. Man a lot of hate in New England for a guy simply answering a question.

  20. LMAO !!! If there was any basis to this, why wouldn’t the Colts launch a complaint years ago? I suppose the discussions would go like this: “Yeah we are a soft, indoor turf team. It’s snowing out. We don’t stand a chance. Let’s just call up the logo company and get our participation banner made up now”

  21. Playoff winning percentages:

    Tim Tebow .500
    Peyton Manning .458

  22. After hearing interviews from Marshall Faulk and Kurt Warner about their Super Bowl game plan vs the Pats, I’d be take precautionary measures as well….

What’s the big deal anyways? Manning did not go public with any outcry against the Pats. An old coach is talking about a locker practice he conducted.

    Dog Days of Summer….

  23. The Patriots Way is to cheat. The other owners are tired of it. That is why the NFL is not yet cratering to Brady the baby.

  24. Pats fans blame “Patriot bashing” on the Pats success. But you never heard this kind of thing about the Niners, Steelers, Pack, etc.

Why did Goodell burn the SpyGate tapes??

  25. Peyton was just worried someone might overhear his plan to head overseas for more “stem cell” injections.

  26. I take this as a complete and total compliment.

The haters are so entrenched in their hate and jealousy, that they just can’t get through their heads that a 6th round draft pick can be this good. I drives them crazy and keeps them on their pursuit of a valid reason to explain TB’s success.

    It drives them crazy!

  27. All the respect in the world for Peyton…. Tony, not so much…. that guy cries to the media about the Patriots every opening he gets.

You got beat Tony, move on with your life.

  28. .
Leave it to Jim Irsay’s lackey, Tony Dungy, to change the subject for the NFL following their beatdown in court yesterday. Great story……. No proof.

Colts VP, Jimmy Raye is ” senior advisor” to NFL VP, Troy Vincent. Tony Dungy wrote the forward to Jimmy Raye’s book. Grigson worked in Philadelphia during Vincent’s time as an Eagle. Harbaugh and Pagano coached together in Baltimore. Bisciotti and Irsay lead an anti Patriots bloc within the NFL.

But the NFL is not incestuous, petty, or political.
    .

  29. I used to like Dungee. He seemed like the living embodiment of “sometimes nice guys DO win”. However, since he left coaching, the more he talks, the less I like him.

(Oh…and as far as the Patriots bugging the visitors locker room…all I know is that for one year the Ravens had former Patriots WR Kelley Washington. And the only thing Washington ever said about the Pats was that compared to the Patriots preseason workouts, the Ravens workouts (which were purported to be so tough) were like a vacation. Draw your own conclusions.)

  30. For folks who talk about Brady v Manning one to one, the results are heavily biased based on who played at home. Almost like both of them did something at their homes ha ha

  31. Just when I thought I couldn’t like Peyton Manning any less….is there an excuse he won”t use for losing vs. the Pats? Or just losing ,period?

  32. So how does he explain all of his other epic chokes over the years, to teams other than the Patriots?

Did the Chargers, Saints and Seahawks also bug the locker room?

  33. WOW!! This is hysterical. Not a pats fan but they have obviously gotten into the heads of all those they play. This also sounds like Tony Dungy looking for excuses as to why they got beaten by them so many time. Man up Tony and accept that you were outplayed and outcoached. Also love how when he’s only Sunday Night Football he always predicts the pats will lose and he’s always wrong.

  34. Is it surprising that Brady is the monster under Peyton’s bed and The Hoodie is the boogie man in his closet? It has to be even more frustrating to him that Eli, of all people, is their kryptonite.
    #cutthatmeat

  35. Lol wow is all I gotta say! That explains why Peyton gets owned every time he plays Brady…. He’s mentally defeated before he steps in the building. I wonder what Mr Dungey thinks about the colts pumping in crowd noise into their crappy dome?? The inferiority complex with the pats continues lol

  36. Everyone who beats this jerk has to be cheating! The Hawks were accused of bugging the locker room while they were kicking the Bronco’s ass’s too.
No way the Hawks could whoop his ass.
    Pathetic, totally pathetic!!!

  37. The patriots have been caught cheating over and over again and all patriot fans act like any accusations are so far fetched! Don’t be so oblivious just because it’s your team. Patriots are not a class organization at all get over it.

  38. Doesn’t surprise me. The Patriots have been pulling stuff like this for years and everyone who’s not a Patriots apologist/homer knows it.

  39. It just shows how trustworthy the Patriots are. Trust is something that’s given, therefore no amount of spin or other illogical arguments will change anything.
I wouldn’t trust them either Peyton, and I imagine you aren’t alone in the league. I certainly would make sure my IT guy was vigilant as it pertains to my tech use, look at STL Cards v. Astros.

  40. Brady vs. Manning has occurred 16 times

10 of the games have been played in New England

Brady has a 11-5 record vs. Manning.

It’s been a fun rivalry to watch and usually the QB defends his home field advantage.

Enjoy it folks, it won’t last forever.

  41. Dungy and Manning are the two most overrated figures in NFL history. Manning was a joke before him and Dungy got Jim Irsay who sits on the NFL rules committee to change the rules for pass interference. Manning would have been a Tony Romo level player if not for that with the same rep.

  42. Oh really Tony Dungy said he really doesn’t know if it’s true but let’s just put it out there when it seems the court case is heavily leaning toward the innocent party Tom Brady. Time to rile up the haters Tony Dungy. What a group of characterless people there are in the NFL. More speculative slandering to stoke up the fires of prejudice, poor sportsmanship, hatred and paranoia. Hey Peyton did you notice those tiny little bugs near you locker at Gillette that weren’t moving? You were right to be suspicious, because those were microphones! How else could you have lost that game when you were up a million points with 2 minutes left to a bum like Brady. Here we go again!

  43. How else could a team be this consistently good in the salary cap era without cheating? I don’t know what exactly they are doing, so I’ll just call it cheating, and say they are a bunch of cheaters. It must be so, because I read it on the internet.

Now can I have my ball back? I want to go home.

  44. The Patriots have been in Manning’s head his whole career. This is not as bad as Jerome Bettis always whimpering because BB successfully anticipated the plays the Steelers want to run but it does show the merits of mind games and how effective the Patriots have been at throwing teams off. Winners win, competitors compete, losers make excuses. The end.

  45. It is no doubt the Patriots will stretch some rules until
they are punished. Use obsolete rules in their favor,
and darn right do things until the NFL Makes rules
    to stop them.
Does that fall under Cheat to win, or good Coaching?

  46. THIS IS AWESOME!!!!

Patriots get into EVERYONES head…..talk about dominating your opponents. Thses guys go to NE, and never think they get out game planned, out thought, out played.

Its always something else….In the meantime, Ty Law just picked you off again Peyton!!!

  47. I wouldn’t put it past the Patriots. They would cheat in a checkers game against a child then pound their chest over winning.
The Patriots are pathetic. I will never respect this organization.

  48. HAHA this clown is using any excuse as to why he couldn’t win more titles. Hey Peyton what’s next the Seahawks bugged that locker room as well when you got slapped around???

  49. Noone knows Belichick better than Tom Coughlin because both were assistants under Parcells back in the day. The only way to combat all the surveillance that the Pats employ is simply to beat them at the line of scrimmage and execute plays. Fundamentals, blocking and tackling. Even if the Patriots know what you are going to run it doesn’t mean they can stop it.

    Patriots 18 – 1

  50. Riiiight. They also have cameras in the showers/bathrooms, microphones in the opponents gatoraide, electronic signal scramblers in the stadium, and spies disguised as furniture inside the opponent’s owners box. Too funny.

  51. Tony Dungy with his usual passive aggressive BS. “I’m not saying it happened, but this guy thinks it did. It’s not me saying it, it’s that other guy”. The man has no spine.

  52. Let’s not put this on Manning. This is Dungy sharing a story that Peyton probably would have rather kept in house. Of course the Dungy/Polian/Irsay machine will use any moment or excuse to explain away their ineptitude vs the Pats.

  53. Why is anyone surprised at this point? It’s been well documented this organization promotes a cheating culture, and there arrogant fans claim jealousy, lol.

Like Goodell would really go through all of this scrutiny for no reason at all. They should have asterisks next to everyone of those tainted titles.

  54. This kind of tinfoil hat stuff will be looked at in history as comical proof that the Greatest Dynasty in NFL History was deeply implanted in everyone’s heads during their run.

Perhaps other teams and fanbases should, you know, worry about playing football better if they want to end this 15+ year dominance from the New England Patriots. I chalk this up to the patriots being the first real polarizing Dynasty of the Social Media era that gives nonsense like this legs. Can you imagine of the 90’s Cowboys had to deal with this much media attention?

  55. I actually like Peyton.

It’s just too much fun to poke at his apologists with a sharp stick. 🙂

  56. MY MY, What have we here ?

Coach Dungy is the biggest HYPOCRITE of all the jealous NFL crybabies – Dungy wears the crown.

Dungy was ‘DEFINITELY AWARE’ of the Pumped in Crowd Noise during the 2004 AFC Champ Game at Lucas Oil Stadium where the Patriots lost to the Refs who threw two bogus PI calls against the Patriots Receivers when Brady had the ball. They even turned up the heat in the stadium because the knew the Patriots had the flu.

    DUNGY the Religious HYPOCRITE

  57. Maybe there is something to it. We know they spied on team practices and taped their signals and deflated footballs at home. Is this so hard to believe?

He sure hasn’t had any trouble beating them outside of NE! Like in the two AFC Championship games (2006, 2013) for instance!!!

  58. I’m not sure who suggested it, but I think ESPN’s commentators should be forced to disclose their record against the Patriots prior to commenting.

I’m also completely disgusted now by ESPN. First, they create a ridiculous controversy by reporting bogus information from the league. Then, they leave it there for months on end without correction. When they do correct it, they do so in absolutely weak way. They ignore the ridiculous way in which the league has treated Brady, even as the Washington Post and many other outlets are tearing the NFL apart. Then, they actually bring up the old bogus Super Bowl walk-through video story twice and only correct their mistake in a short segment aired in the middle of the night. They immediately follow it up by giving Tony Dungy a chance to smear the Patriots the next day. Maybe they can also ask Bill Polian for his thoughts…

  59. The NFL should poll every coach and ask them what stadium has the most headset failures during key parts of the game. From what I’ve read….Gillette stadium would be way ahead of anywhere else.

  60. What about the Seahawks bugging the Broncos locker room for Superbowl XLVIII?

I mean… I’ve never seen a team being destroyed like that! AFC Champs? 43-8?

Oh wait… It was Peyton in the playoffs…

  61. Maybe Peyton chokes in the big games or maybe he has reasons why saints Seahawks crushed him in the super bowl. Or all Those 1 and outs at home ?

  62. Karlos dansby mentioned in a podcast I think with PfT that while he was with the cardinals they played the Pats and the headsets didn’t work. So the whole game he was running to the sideline to get plays. He said he thought the Pats sabotaged to win here as well. lol.

  63. Great, here comes more Manning hate….Manning DIDN’T even release this info to the public, yet he gets the hate for it. Stupid comment by Dungy. Who cares if Manning was being paranoid or cautious. Can you blame him with the Pats cheating record?? Leave the guy alone. He never made that out to be excuse. never. Actually I’ve never heard Manning make an excuse for losing like all you pathetic Pats fans claim he does

  64. This is great. I am hoping for more conspiracies to come out. Even if it were true. PeyPey avoided the mics in the locker room, he still lost.

If I were a Pats player, I would just start telling other players and coaches that the locker rooms are bugged, visiting sideline is bugged, cameras are everywhere, RF will encounter interference at any moment, refs are paid off, and that the Pats have the visiting team’s playbooks for the last ten years.

If every opponent thinks that there is nothing they can do, the game is at least half won before it starts. At the very least, the visitors will commit multiple penalties trying to out muscle the Pats. Keep it up guys. Hope it allows you to sleep better.

  65. As for Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady, his final offer to the league should be:
    No Suspension
    No Fine
    Return ALL the draft picks
    Fire Kensil
    Goodell’s resignation
    An apology from the league

And in return… Brady agrees he will not file a defamation suit and he saves the league from a devastating discovery process.

There is really no logical reason to accept anything less than this. Take it or leave it.

  66. I, for one, am tired of all of the Patriot cheating.

I would gladly go to jail, for throwing an objects on the field, while Tom Brady has the ball in the last 2 minutes of a game. Nothing to Hurt anyone, but another football comes to mind. Maybe, several fans should do this collectively.

    #deflatemyballstommy

  67. Here we go again. I’m surprised Goodell hasn’t commissioned Ted Wells to do another “independent” investigation. Maybe they’re waiting for another Mortensen report saying that 11 of 12 former Colts personnel claim they saw Jim McNally walk out of the visitors lockerroom one time 10 years ago.

  68. I believe it. Pats are cheaters and their fans are more delusional by the day. Four SB wins but they are forever tainted. Filming opposing teams practices. Deflated footballs. Bugging locker rooms. Smells like Belicheat.

  69. It is weird just like this year the game would be close at halftime then Patriots would open up a big lead without the refs help in some instances. Its also weird that he could not come up with a gameplan that worked in 6 days but he could come up with one in 15 minutes during halftime. If you watch the Patriots play a few games a year and are not a Patriots fan, you know they cheat.

  70. I bet even Manning isn’t happy that trouble maker, passive aggressive, holier than thou, Dungy decided now is a good time to bring this up.

  71. By massaging the rules the Patriots have caused mass paranoia . Not a Pats fan but I do find it funny .

  72. So Denver cheats on the salary cap to win the SB? Wouldn’t having players with contracts that are illegal a bigger deal? Where’s your outrage all you haters?

The Colts would heat the stadium to more than 80 degrees for Pats games to gain an unfair advantage. Where’s your outrage all you haters?

Just admit you hate the Pats, and I’m fine with it. But at the same time, admit you hate the fact we own your teams. Admit you can’t handle losing to one of the greatest teams ever, and have to find some reason why it wasn’t real.

    Don’t be Goodell, be honest.

    Fan is short for “fanatic”

  73. HAHAHA, Love how much the Patriots live inside Peyton’s head. It’s pretty laughable as a Patriots fan that this paranoid lunatic actually thinks the locker room was bugged.

  74. old story,

and a reminder of the level of paranoia on behalf of the Colts that sparked the stupid complaint about footballs being low in pressure during cold games in Foxboro.

    Duh.

During cold games in our universe, you pansy indoor turf team.

  75. Hey, have you read about the Ashley Madison leak, gave a bunch of names of people brady’ing on their spouses…. Guess they are all about the patriot way.

  76. Has Manning ever beat the Patriots? Answer: Absolutely.

So we’re left to believe the times he won were the result of getting outside of ear shot of the microphones.

For crying out loud, at some point maybe it’s about the freaking talent.

  77. Why is it anything but common sense to think that a team who admitted filming other team’s activities to get an edge, would listen to their conversations to get an edge?

I have a niece who has a been caught swiping cash out of wallets when she is visiting … you don’t think she might swipe other things? You gotta keep an eye on her.

With all their righteous indignation crap, the Patriots are a lot like my niece.

  78. ‘Tony”Holy than Though” Dungy’

If you are going to bash a man’s religion to make him sound stupid, could you at least check your grammar first?

  79. Now you know how a rookie undrafted CB could INT at the goal line to win the SB … he knew the play was coming.

  80. And Mr. Dungee…the Atlanta Falcons were punished for piping in noise. Using the same logic that “everyone knows” the Patriots cheat…everyone knows the Colts piped in crowd noise under your watch. You certainly had to know it. How come the Colts haven’t been punished for piping in noise?

  81. It’s not like the opposing teams headsets have ever mysteriously turned off in critical game situations.

    Oh wait…..THEY HAVE

It’s not a matter of bashing the Patriots, it’s a matter of calling them out on the BS they knowingly do and shake their head like they have no idea.

The cheating part I don’t mind half as much as the innocent act that everybody’s just jealous and out to get them mentality of their fans.

I can handle the cheating aspect every team may try to do, but I can’t stand the entire delusion they aren’t doing the same thing 31 other teams are.

  82. The sad part about all this for me is that the Patriots have an organization full of fantastic football people. Both Brady and Bellichek are in the top 3 of their profession of all time…..but they continually show disrespect to the game through things like spygate, deflategate, questionable formations against Baltimore. It stinks. It diminishes them. More often then not, they’re the better team in whatever game they play…..players, coaching, everything. But they still feel the need to do what they’ve done. It stinks, and is a black eye for the franchise that won’t heal.

  83. Lol….Pats fan…u will never out run this. Everywhere u go, expect the onslaught, especially if u are brave enough to wear that “Cindy” Brady jersey at opposing stadiums. Dungy did nothing wrong here. He was asked a question and provided some insight about what Manning believed. That’s it. Deal with it. You guys are clutching those #12 jerseys so tight that all the blood is draining from your head to prevent you from seeing the truth. Your coach is successful because he cheats. Tainted champions. End of story.

  84. Good timing.

The NFL propaganda machine is working overtime these days.

I guess the Seahawks bugged everything a couple of years ago.

  85. To all the Pats fans bringing up Peyton’s 6-13 regular season record against the Pats, Peyton is 2-0 against the Patriots in the AFC title game. I think that matters just a bit more.

  86. Did anyone catch the show? If so, when Dan Patrick asked Dungy:

When did the Colts start their cheating practice of pumping in artificial sound into their stadium when the opposing offense has the ball ?

    What was Dungy’s answer?

  87. Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not really following you……

  88. So much vitriol and hatred. All over taping defensive signals (which was and STILL IS legal) from the wrong location, and for maybe, possibly, removing a little too much air from footballs, which can also be explained easily by science.

Pats have been cheating for years, huh? Prove it.

Also, if you cared so much about cheating, every single person berating the Patriots would also be berating the Browns and Falcons…you know, teams that were PROVEN to be cheating.

But you aren’t. So it is “more probable than not” you are simply jealous of the Patriots’ success.

  89. To all the Pats fans bringing up Peyton’s 6-13 regular season record against the Pats, Peyton is 2-0 against the Patriots in the AFC title game. I think that matters just a bit more.

Uh, mikebrownistheworstownerinprosports, you might want to look up the AFC title game that occurred in January 2004.

  90. The Pats are also responsible for JFK’s assassination, the kidnapping of the Lindbergh baby, the murder of JonBenet Ramsey, missing flight MH370, and crop circles!

  91. This is probably true. They have been know to cheat any way they can. The Pats 4 point win over the Eagles in the Super Bowl was rigged in ways we may never know. The Eagles were clearly the better team. It happened.

  92. HA!…..Talk about having someone’s number..or getting in a players head.Thats Great!

  93. Very reckless on Dungy’s part!!! This coming from an man known to have pumped crowd noise back through the PA system during opposing teams offensive possesions!!!! Guys like him and Jerry Rice who have acted out similar transgressions should take a deep look inside or are they just trying to stay relevant!!

  94. Peyton’s not a liar. You can say Goodell is one and it’s more probable than not this is true. New England just does all these little things behind the scenes, fascinating. Whatever it takes, by any means necessary, right Pats fans?

  95. And this, in a nutshell, is why Peyton Manning holds the record for playoff losses by a QB in first rounds that he plays in. Loser mentality. Always an excuse

  96. The Patriots are in so many teams heads it’s not a wonder other teams can’t beat them!!!! Just how the Patriots like it.

  97. Let me ask you something. If the Patriots have been “doing this for years” and “cheating forever” wouldn’t you think someone out there would have proved it??? An ex player or coach??? How many players have been ruthlessly cut by Bill? You would think at least one of them would say something??? This Patriot bashing is getting way out of hand and just plain old. When the Patriots beat you because they are smarter and more prepared than you, take it like a man and admit you were beat. Payton just sounds like paranoid child. The Pat are like the old version of Tiger Woods, had you beat before you teed off at the first.

  98. It’s hard to discount anything anyone thinks the patriots might have done to cheat. There may be no truth to the reports, but they’ve won something like 41 straight home games against the AFC alone. Realistically, that’s defying the odds. The last time the I remember the Dolphins winning in foxboro was with the wildcat, which even if one knew about found difficult to stop. IMO, all things considered, it would appear more likely than not.

  99. The Patriots are so into Peyton’s and the Colts heads.

I think Peyton’s just shooting back at Brady for the “Peyton’s only got a couple of years left” text that Brady sent to a family member…You know, the texts that the NFL would NEVER leak!!!

  100. Then why does Peyton always blame his own teammates? The look he gave his own linemen in the SB – after he caused them to jump, was flagged for it, and caused a safety on the opening snap – was exactly the same look he always gave his RB or WRs when coming off the field second to the Patriots.

  101. Only losers make excuses like this when getting your ass handed to you time and time again , I thought you we’re better then that dungy , I guess not

  102. And of course the Haters will now cite even a paranoid concern as “proof” (though credit Belichick for getting in the heads of opposing players, coaches and fans alike – even though he’s not doing a thing – that’s probably how he likes it)

Frankly, as Dungy knows, the degree of “spying” done by acclaimed football greats such as George Halas and Lamar Hunt as well as others makes any of these things look like a jaywalking allegation

But fans insanely (literally) jealous of the Patriots really need to take a step back and look to some truly knowledgeable and unbiased sources such as Texans fan and attorney blogger Stephanie Stradley who openly mocks Goodell’s witch hunt and biased process – and the fact that there’s no indication anything occurred

  103. so basically what we have here is Dungy responding to a story that Manning though the patriots were bugging the colts locker room.

how pathetic of manning to use this is an excuse for not being to win on the road.

i can remember the 2004 AFFCG, as soon as the kickoff it started to snow, Manning proceeded to throw 4 interceptions.

does he believe that the patriots caused it to snow too?

and look at the haters, they knew the patriots are allways cheating.

    pathetic

  104. Former Patriots then on the Colts squad also said the Belichick didn’t enter through doors, he would just materialize.

  105. Bettis saying they seemed to know what we were going to call is a bit silly. Under cower it was pretty much power right, power left. Everyone had a 50-50 shot

  106. Kinda ironic that Pats fans are getting on Peyton about protecting his privacy but are at peace with Brady destroying his phone.

  107. And this is why franchises like the Jets that won Super Bowl without cheating are a million times more relevant than the scum of the earth franchise that has none like the Browns.

  108. Of course. If you can’t beat the Patriots they must have cheated you.

    It couldn’t be that they:
    Do their jobs…
    Work harder and smarter…
Put team first…(IE Brady not taking top dollar every contract negotiation)
    Harp on attention to detail…
Bench players who violate ball security…

No the Patriots must have cheated because you know deep down that no matter who your team is, they are better than the Pats and should have won that game.

  109. Tony Dungy is a loser and a quitter. And now ESPN’s resident mouthpiece for vague, unsubstantiated allegations that will no doubt become part of the hater speak as gospel. All out smear campaign by the NFL and ESPN goons that at one time or another got spanked by TB and BB. Losers. All of them.

  110. Silly Peyton… He never realized that every time he had a colonoscopy the doctor paid by NE was just changing the batteries of the transmitter inserted in his A…SS

  111. Peyton is 2-3 while playing in his own Stadium. He is 2-5 while in TB12’s backyard…. While at Denver he is 0-3 in Foxboro and 1-0 at Mike high….. I guess since Peyton is universially recognized by over 90% of the football world as the GOAT, he is correct, they did bug the vistors locker room…. LMAO….

  112. Everyone now coming out of the woodwork trying to justify why they are or were pummeled by the Patriots on an annual basis, this is fantastic. What a bunch of whiny frauds.
    1) video camera in the wrong location
    2) headset malfunctions
    3) bugging locker room
    4) deflating footballs a fraction of a psi

Yah, that’s it. It’s not that your team is softer than baby poo, it’s one of those made up excuses. Losers.

  113. Dungy was generally aware of Peyton Manning’s paranoia that the locker room may or may not have been bugged. When former Patriots players were asked if it was bugged, some said maybe, some said maybe not … while fanning that paranoia fire.

That’s all the proof that the court of public opinion needs. Let’s fine them $1 million and take away two draft picks. Suspend Belichick for four games.

  114. The Colts also blasted crowd noise in the AFC Championship game to NE’s offense couldn’t get the snap count. Idc what Manning thinks he’s always played poorly in Foxboro.

  115. Isn’t that convenient how the most dominant NFL team in the history of any 15 year stretch is also accused of being the biggest cheaters in history?

    Strange how that works, huh?

How would a complete outsider, say somebody from a different country who knew nothing about the NFL, look at your opinion?

They dominate because they cheat, or they dominate because they’re good? You say the only win because they cheat, or you call them cheaters because you’ve got nothing else?

Patriots fans sleep perfectly fine at night. However, your hate filled obsession gnaws away at you like termites on a log.

Take a look in the mirror and man up, haters.

  116. Unfortunately for Manning, the private conversations didn’t help win games. The guy is one of the all-time greats but his playoff record speaks for itself.

  117. It may explain why everyone looks so confused when Peyton starts shouting TOPEKA at the line of scrimmage.

  118. I really wish Nixon would have broken into like a Sheraton or Hilton or something like that. Then we wouldn’t have to put up with this nonsense of every scandal known to man since being called ______gate. Get some originality, reporters. Spygate, Deflategate, Weiner-text-gate…..none of it makes any sense!!!

  119. I remember after the AFC Championship game between NE and Pitt, Jerome Bettis stated to an on-field reporter “it was like they knew everything we were going to do”.

This guy forgets that AFCCG in 2001 and 2004 were both played in Pittsburgh.

  120. I believe all the rumors and I believe the Patriots are cheaters, it looks like the NFL might need to call in the FBI to correct the infestation of cheating in the Patriots organization.

  121. Patriots the biggest cheater in sports? Nah… Broncos got that winning title. Actually cheating is the one category that the Jets, Steelers,Colts etc beat the Patriots. The Patriots is in mediocre middle as far as cheating is concerned. Your teams win the cheating competition. Feel free to hang your banners.

  122. my favorite Peyton play was the first play in the Seattle SB, where he did his OMAHA crap and the center snapped the ball right over his big head.

    better than band camp

  123. Jesus….the Patriots* will stop at nothing in order to get an advantage. Once a cheater ALWAYS a cheater. No wonder the NFL wants to come down on them.

Now you know how a rookie undrafted CB could INT at the goal line to win the SB … he knew the play was coming.
    *************************************
Yes he did. The Pats saw the exact same formation on legally obtained Seahawks game film. Then they practiced the play with Butler because he was the go to 3rd corner for that situation. Then the Seahawks ran the play exactly as predicted.

  125. Bugged locker rooms,
mysteriously malfunctioning voice equip on visitors sideline,
    taping practices,
    illegal substitutions,
    deflated balls,
magically dropping fumble rate by 50%,
bathroom break without knowing there was no urinal,
    deflator,
    payoffs by Brady,
    phone destroying,
    non-cooperate with investigation,

It’s been said before – the other owners gave up on scotch soaked Kraft to reign in the cheating so they finally took matters into their own hands.

And you know there’s much more than listed if it was enough to prompt the owners to give the NFL a black eye.

    Sad

I know these two posts are humorous, but years from now, some fans will say that Butler knew that play was coming because of stolen signals. They’ll also say that’s why Belichick never called a time out.

All this because Harbaugh and his Defense couldn’t figure out that they didn’t need to cover ineligible receivers….

  129. The entire League, with the exception of the Giants, needs to grow a pair when it comes to talking about the Patriots.

It’s not cheating, its excellence. At various points throughout the history of the NFL there have been teams that have been dominant for a period of time. The Packers, the Steelers, the 49ers, the Cowboys and currently the Patriots.

Take all that energy you spend dreaming up new conspiracy theories about the Patriots and focus it on figuring out how to beat them on the field.

  130. I like Peyton. Dungy should stop dragging Peyton’s name to get at the Patriots at this point. I don’t think Peyton would appreciate that. Peyton is a classy guy and Dungy is thoughtless.

  131. Since the World Champion Patriots WHOOP every other team fair and square now, can you imagine what they would do to them if they really did cheat??

They would win every game by 100! WOW!!!! I would LOVE to see that! 🙂

Apparently Belichick must have infiltrated Pittsburgh’s facilities personnel and got them to bug the home teams’ locker room and provide listening devices in the visitors locker room.

    yeah, that must be it.

  134. Actually listened to the interview with Dungy. He repeatedly said that it was nothing and that he was worried about all teams. It was Patrick that kept cutting him off and dragging the Patriots into the conversation.

  135. “And the player who has been the Patriots’ biggest rival, Peyton Manning, took specific steps to combat the possibility that the Patriots were cheating.”

When you win 5 out of 16 games against a team you’re not a rival, you’re a whipping boy. That’s like saying the Washington Generals are the Harlem Globetrotters biggest rival.

    ========================

Falcons, Jets, Browns all busted this offseason for breaking league rules but, you know, I’m sure you’re totally neutral on this whole thing…

  137. OK, so let’s dispense with the obvious first: the Patriots did not and do not bug the opponent’s locker room. The notion that they do is clearly silly and infantile.

And against federal and Mass. state laws. But hey let’s not get in the way of Patriot Hater excuse making. It is an annual pastime in these parts. 🙂

  138. Feeling like your being lstened too all the time comes from self importance and paranoia. He took precautions and still lost anyway. When a team gets in your head then they have the advanatage.

  139. When will pats be caught cheating again?

Most likely something to do with in-game communications, possibly involving the helmet transmitter. But I would not be surprised to hear they are recording opponents calls at the line of scrimmage.

    ….Playoff cheating percentages:

    Tom Brady 100%

  147. So now that the Patriots and Tom Brady are proven innocent of any conspiracy theory by Judge Berman, this type of crap will now come at the Patriots. You would think the fans of the game would be more upset about the manipulation of facts and circumstances in any investigation by the NFL. It is ironic that the organization that purports to be protecting the integrity of the game is itself impugning the intergrity of the game. Back off the Pats, this is just a little piling on by Peyton Place Manning to provide excuses for not winning the big games.

  148. And you’d trust a team whose owner gave Russia’s Putin one of his SB rings? Get a clue. The entire organization is scum.

  149. ….Playoff cheating percentages:

    Tom Brady 100%

    0% 🙂

Can you imagine what Brady would do to his opponents if he really did cheat? 700 yards passing a game and 10 touchdowns for sure. And probably more! WOW! 🙂

  150. Tee hee 🙂 Look at Patriot Hater still thinking their team belongs on the field with the World Champions! LOL!

It’s so adorable! 🙂 It’s like a little newborn kitten thinking he can take on a pack of lions!

  151. This is getting funnier by the hour. I’m sure if a coach bugs a locker room, he lets the players in on it so when they go play for another team, they can warn them. I am starting to enjoy how the Patriots are taking up space in the heads of all teams. Keep on crying folks. This just in, the Patriot’s are responsible for global warming.
Manning, Dungy, Polian, Grigson and the Indianapolis Cots have got to be the biggest group of whining losers in NFL history! They will make up anything as an excuse for losing to the Pat’s.

  152. Does the NFL even try anymore?

See, I remember when “bounty”BS had turned on the commissioner completely due to being called in front of a federal judge who preceded to expose all of the “evidence,” as lies from a disgruntled ex-employee (fired for lying, lulz,) complete distortions of the actual evidence and for repeatedly leaking lies to the media to make sure fans and fan sentiment was distorted from the start.

As the ship started sinking, an “insider scoop,” from (you guessed it,) Mouthpiece Mort came out that the Saints bugged the visiting teams locker room. Yeah, totally not a transparent fabrication meant to distract from the NFL getting is butt handed to them by a player (Jonathan Vilma, who was unsurprisingly a guy that some ex-Jets execs like say Besil or whatever his name had an axe to grind against.)

People occasionally ask whatever happened about that, as if ESPIN and the NFL deliberately buried the results of said investigation. An investigation conducted not by biased incompetent boobs of the NFL but one conducted by the FBI. You know, professionals that don’t give a single Hoover Dam ahout appeasing Goodell’s ego. Ready for what they along with the Louisiana state police found?

That there wasn’t a single shred of evidence anywhere that even suggested that the Saints bugged, had ever bugged or even discussed bugging the visitors locker room.

But suuuuuure, the NFL wouldn’t encourage one of it’s broadcast slaves, errr partners to leaked out a carefully crafted distortion or flat out lie against whoever Goodell has decided to railroad (probably to compensate for *ahem* certain shortcoming,) in a desperate attempt to sling mud. Yeah, just go ahead and believe that because if you do, you deserve to be lied to.

  153. I also heard Gary Kubiak will be covering up his mouth whenever he speaks to Manning. Rumor has it that Kubiak found out the Patriots have hired lip readers.

Manning and Kubiak supposedly also asked NFL officials to block the Patriots from watching any Bronco games or reading any accounts of their games because it gave the Patriots an unfair advantage.

  154. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if the Pats bugged the visiting team’s locker room.

After all, Belichick’s motto seems to be “if you ain’t cheatin, you ain’t tryin.”

  155. Jerome Bettis ?

    2001 AFCG

Did patriots know the call when Troy Brown retuned a punt for a TD? Yes, the Pats knew Pitts was punting!

Did patriots know the call when they blocked a FG and returned it for a TD? Yes the Pats knew Pitts was kicking a FG.

Did the Patriots know that you stop the run and put the game in Cordell’s hands ? Yup, take that bet any day.

Did the patriots know the call when plaxico fumbled in the open field?

    Dream on.

  156. What actually happened was Peyton was abducted by pro Patriot space aliens who inserted a bug directly into Peyton’s brain. That’s the truth, I read it on the internet and it can’t be on the internet if it isn’t true.

  157. So-called Spygate involved no spying and no cheating. It was legal taping of the opponent, same as every team did and continues to do; the only dispute was over camera location. The Patriots were correct on the rules, but the NFL punished them anyway just to say, “we’re in charge, rules or no rules, do what we say”. The way the NFL is structured it’s almost impossible for a team to fight any penalty the NFL decides to give out. Players, luckily have more protections thanks to the NFLPA and labor laws. Which is why Brady is kicking Goodell’s butt in court, and Kraft lay down like a whipped dog.

It’s sad people don’t learn basic critical thinking skills in school, or at home, to help them sift through truth and fiction in the news, politics and advertising. It’s an important skill. If you think the Patriots have a “history of cheating”, guess what, you’re a fool who can’t think for himself and you’re probably being taking advantage of in other areas of your life right now that matter more than your opinion of a football team.

  158. Wow what a great reputation the Pats have across the league…..there is no doubt they cheat, when teams are afraid Belichick would bug the locker room its time for a sting operation to bust them red handed….this is sad

  159. After all, Belichick’s motto seems to be “if you ain’t cheatin, you ain’t tryin.”

    Actually they did not.

Rule said taping is not permitted if you use the information from the tap in game. They didn’t use that information in game.

Of course they have that reputation. It’s because they are winners. Losers, instead of working to make their own teams competitive, have to try and bring the winners down to their level, using whatever means necessary.

No one is going to call out the Browns or the Jets for cheating, even though they do, because they are perennial losers.

    ——————————————-
    1. You do know that some QBs prefer a harder ball? Because it flies better, holds a spiral better and flies further? (e.g. Aaron Rodgers)

    2. It wasn’t illegal to tape signals. It was the location of the taping that was the issue. Well known, established fact (ask Bill Cowher, and if he doesn’t answer, use google). Predicting that Jerome Bettis is going to run, with what they had quarterback wasn’t exactly rocket science.

    3. There are lots of stories about aliens landing and capturing earthlings, then taking them for a ride in a saucer. Doesn’t make them true – near the checkout counter where you buy your cigs and 40 oz.

    4. I’m wondering, like Judge Berman, if it’s such a competitive advantage, what happened in the 2nd half of the Colts game? Patriots balls were inflated and Colts balls were left below the limit.

  179. Bad news Pats Fans. Your QB is now labeled a cheater. That’s for 95% of everybody total. The 5% that says he’s not are delusional Pats fans. The numbers win every time. You silly Pats fans can’t stop it. Brady is now the Lance Armstrong of the NFL. Be glad he didn’t get his titles stripped. At least you fans still have those. Other than that, His new legacy will be of a huge cheater. Good luck Lance……. I mean Tom Brady

  180. Really, people. Be sensible. Think this through just for a second using a modicum of intelligence and common sense.

If the Patriots did this, the information would mainly be useful on the same day. So, someone would have had to gather the information and pass it along to the person or persons on the Patriots who could use it. Then, that person, say a coach or a group of coaches, would have to pass it on to the other coaches and/or the players.

So, numerous people—coaches and players—would likely be in the loop.

But here’s the problem: Coaches and players have left the Patriots organization for other jobs on other teams every year. Don’t you think there would be more than rumors about this practice? There would be widespread knowledge of it.

Why would the Patriots risk that? Are all former players and coaches signed to iron clad nondisclosure agreements, that would have to include knowledge of rules infractions?

Then, think of it this way. If visiting teams and players like Manning knew for sure about the practice, wouldn’t it be very easy to game the Patriots’ eavesdroppers with inaccurate information? How hard would it be for Manning and company to discuss a totally bogus game plan within range of a Patriots’ bugging device? And then how stupid would Belichick and company be to expose themselves that way?

It just doesn’t make any sense at all.

Nobody ever accused the Steelers, or 49ers, or Cowboys of cheating when they were winning. Tony Dungy is about the most trustworthy and down to earth, not to mention honest guy, that we’ve ever seen around the NFL. So it’s not like everybody’s just being a sore loser.
    ————————

Of course they did. 49ers are verified cheaters. Bill Walsh was the architect of the “Broken” headset scam. Jerry Rice used stickum.

The Colts pumped crowd noise through the speakers, and Tony Dungy knew it.

The bottom line is that ALL teams try to gain an advantage using whatever means possible.

To deny that absolute fact, and try to paint the Patriots as the only team in the NFL that breaks rules, is completely ridiculous.

    Dream on.

    ————–

LOL! I wonder if Jerome realizes that offenses signal their plays in electronically. Does he know that it is the Offense the benefits from stealing signals (spying)?

Wow. But does he get to continue to beat your team into submission? Ok, we can live with that….

  184. Even if Brady and the NFLPA win this court case……..Brady will still be labeled a cheater in everybody but the Pats and their fans eyes. NFL had the easy win until Brady destroyed the proof and the needed evidence. Even if he gets away with it, he still cheated and everybody knows it. 95% will call Brady a cheater. The only hope you 5% delusional fans have is to go to 95% of the population, door to door, and convince them that he’s not. Good luck with that. Numbers win every time. Look at sports. Higher point (numbers) win the game. 95% of the population labeling Brady a cheater will win as well. He will now and forever be seen as a cheater. No longer a 6th round steal. But a typical 6th round pick who managed to skew the even playing field and cheat to win….. and pull it off in many different ways for years. Tom owes B.B. a big thank you. Well not now I guess

Do you think Peyton keeps his pizzas warm inside that giant dome on his shoulders?
    ——————–
He keeps them 6 ft under with Francis.

  186. So get them to think the bug is in the locker room but actually put it in the adjacent hallway where the move to talk in secret…

Right in front of the security cameras.

That’s some nice OPSEC work there Peyton.

  187. If you are an informed patriots fan you realize that Peyton did not disclose this, Dungy did.

Look how many patriot fans are sore at Manning (not all of you). The vast majority of this site is trolls or patriot shills.

Peyton is the GOAT. he is one of 6 Qbs drafted number one to start and win a superbowl. Only Manning, Aikman, and Bradshaw won starting a superbowl with the team that drafted him. (eli, elway, and plunkett won starting with teams other than the one that selected them). Compare the 70s steelers, the 90s cowboys to the teams peyton had around him. Amazing!

  188. Wow. But does he get to continue to beat your team into submission? Ok, we can live with that….

    =========================

Wow do you even know who my team is? You might be shocked Mr. Poopy Pants smart guy. I’ll be interested to see how Mr. Brady fares at age 38 and on a level playing field this year. Reigns will be tightening on rules and cheating this year. His career is about over and B.B is one more cheat away from it too. Understandable though. B.B. had to find a way to beat the odds as coach after his Cleveland debacle. As far as you accepting brady being a cheater as long as he is pounding teams……… Doesn’t say much for you. But football is here and I’m stoked! Enjoy the season!

  189. Message to 31 other teams owners, coaches, players and fans. Time to recognize the superiority of Belichick and Brady. Just bend over and kiss the rings.

Except in the Patriots case stealing money would only be illegal if done on a cross walk. Not sure how many times people need to be reminded that filming signals in the NFL is 100% legal. It’s only illegal in designated areas.

  191. 4. I’m wondering, like Judge Berman, if it’s such a competitive advantage, what happened in the 2nd half of the Colts game? Patriots balls were inflated and Colts balls were left below the limit.
    ———————————

The problem is, the NFL doesn’t have any idea if the inflation level of a football gives any advantage or not.

How would they? They didn’t even know until the night of the AFCCG that footballs naturally deflate.

That didn’t stop Goodellbot from equating it with PED use.

Fortunately, the judge sees through all of the BS that the NFL has created.

  192. He will always be a coach who’s teams were “small market” which he adapted well with considering the “small minded” fan base!

  193. There are devices that allow you to check for hidden listening or viewing devices. If he was so paranoid, buy one of those devices and get a ballboy or some other piece of cannon fodder go over the locker room with a fine toothed comb.

  194. Maybe this is the reason Vladamir Putin got a Super Bowl ring from Bob Kraft. See, Putin used to be the head of the KGB and you all know how much they know about bugging, spying, and other underhanded things. No doubt he was a special consultant to the Patriots. God, I wonder what else he taught them?

  195. The New York giants listened in on the Vikings radios in the 2000 NFC championship….so I don’t see this as being a stretch, knowing the patriots history. I’m very surprised to see that most think it’s paranoia. It’s not paranoia when there is prior evidence of cheating.

  196. To be fair when Peyton play the Patriots they seem to jump his passes like they have a time machine.

But sadly that’s just cause Bill has Peyton’s number in the regular season at least.

  197. How would that even work? Noisy locker room, dozens of conversations … Maybe the Patriots also employ voice recognition technology … background sound suppression … and a secret underground command bunker with a team of techs to filter through the noise and provide Belichick with nuggets of actionable intelligence.
Just like an episode of Mission Impossible. … Christ, the NFL has to have some of the dumbest, most delusional, and weepy fans on the planet. Any other excuses why your teams sucks and the Patriots spank them more often than not?

  198. So, here’s the problem with this story – it’s a baseless allegation – and really not even an allegation, it’s just something that Manning was paranoid about – but it’s going to enter into “the Patriots always cheat” lore as though it’s a fact, like so many other mythical accusations against NE. Within a few weeks Pats haters will be adding this to their laundry list of imaginary ways that NE has supposedly cheated.

Tony Dungy is a supposedly pious man who is also highly hypocritical and grinds his ax against NE whenever he has the chance. He presents this story as “well, I’m just saying what Peyton thought” but he knows that people can say whatever they want about NE and the haters believe it. It’s irresponsible and classless.

I’m not a NE fan, but the amount of garbage that’s floated about them – and that people choose to believe – is just plain ridiculous.

  199. In the web of tunnels under Foxborough………

Colonel Hogan, Kinchloe, Carter, Tom Brady, Newkirk, Bob Kraft, Lebeau and Bill Belichick were sitting around, eating strudel and listening to the Colts on the coffee pot.

    I know nothing, nooothiiingk.

  200. Falcons, Jets, Browns all busted this offseason for breaking league rules but, you know, I’m sure you’re totally neutral on this whole thing…
    *******************************************

And they all complied with their punishment without first going to a Federal Judge…..too bad the Pats can’t say that

  201. Gotta love it! I’m sure the Pats didn’t bug the visiting locker room, but I’m glad country bumpkin Peyton Manning believed it. There’s a word for this – INTIMIDATION!

  202. Yes and isn’t it odd that the Broncos always had to play in New England??

That is what I hope will be the result of Patriots going after the NFL with Deflategate. Instead of the NFL taking care of the Patriots, that the NFL will be taking care of the Patriots – if you know what I mean.

  203. Pats haters, I’m sure you had your fun getting anal with all this and making up new names and patting yourself on the back for being so clever.

(I missed them all because I just scrolled straight to the bottom.)

The Pats got into Peyton’s head and probably into Dungy’s head, and personally I find that pretty damn funny.

Any proof (besides that sound that sounds suspiciously like Bill Belichik laughing out loud)?

The Pats got caught stealing defensive signals in 2007. They paid a fine, lost a 1st round draft choice and still almost won a Super Bowl. Since then they’ve won 6 out of 7 AFC East titles, won one out of the 2 SBs they played in and their winning percentage since then is undoubtedly either 1st or 2nd over that time period.

The other accusations? Nothing. Nada. NO PROOF because there ISN’T ANY. They are the most successful organization in professional sports and have been for the last 15 years and that is the main reason why so many of you losers hate them so much.

And they’ve gotten into YOUR heads too, which is the funniest thing about it.

    Thanks for the laughs

BTW – Teams have been stealing signals from each other since the invention of dirt.
