Steelers sign Michael Vick

AP

Michael Vick is back in the NFL, as Ben Roethlisberger’s backup.

The Steelers announced this evening that they have signed Vick and placed Bruce Gradkowski, who had been slated as the backup quarterback, on injured reserve.

The 35-year-old Vick is a far cry from the star he once was, and he’s coming off a season in which he was largely disappointing when he played for the Jets. But he was the best veteran quarterback available to the Steelers when Gradkowski got hurt.

If Roethlisberger stays healthy, Vick may never see the field in Pittsburgh. But if Roethlisberger goes down, the Steelers know they have a backup with experience.

  1. Hell, they could have waited a few weeks and picked up RGIII after Washington finally does the right thing. Probably could have grabbed him for cheap, too.

OK, ok, jokes aside, honestly this isn’t the worst move by the Steelers. Vick might not be great, but he’s better than most anything else out there right now- and if he’s on the field instead of Roethlisberger, things probably are all but lost for the season anyway. Might as well grab the best guy you can and hope he steals a game or two if he needs to be there.

  2. I recognize that Vic paid his debt to society and that people deserve second chances. But he can get a second chance working an honest days work in a regular job – and not as the quarterback of the Pittsburgh freaking Steelers.

    – A lifelong Steelers fan

  3. I’m sure MV7 will be just as unprepared in Pittsburgh as he was in NY and Atlanta. Good luck with that PA!
    ha-ha-ha!

  4. He has experience at sucking! Career completion% under 54%, while mainly throwing dump offs.

  5. I hope Suggs snaps his knees on a read option play and ends his career for good. Lost all respect for the Rooneys and Tomlin. Way to go Steelers.

  6. as a steeler fan im kind of upset about this… a dog killer? is this what our steelers have become? hiring convicted dog killers? expect backlash on this big time! bad move rooney and tomlin!

  7. Steelers fan base probably isn’t going to like it. This is probably more of an indictment of what was available than an endorsement of Vick though.

  8. Hey Mike, this isn’t the Jets. When you’re number is called you can’t stink up the show and then say. “I wasn’t prepared and won;t happen again.”

Amazing any team would give him a job considering how bad he played last year.

  9. Not the first time or the last time the Steelers sign someone whose lifetime of poor decisions representative of their values.

    Remember this? #FreeAaronHernandez

    Scum.

  10. They signed him as a backup what’s the big deal for people wo don’t like it? He can fill in adequately if Ben goes done short term and the steelers season is over anyway if it’s long term. What really is the big deal either way?

  11. Great. Next week they will sign Ray Rice when Bell gets injured.

    Bad move.

    No,
    nO
    No!

  12. Vick is the classic example of a player who got by on physical gifts and never bothered to hone his craft. Jeff George is another one that comes to mind.

  13. This will be Teddy Bridgewater in 6 years from now. Being bounced around and signed by a different team as a back up every year.

  14. The usual shallow end of the gene pool commenting on a person who messed up badly but paid his debt to society. Bet a lot of these knee jerkers voted for Bill Clinton, love Al Sharpton, and think Steve A Smith is cool. He is insurance…nothing more.

  15. Always suspected Tomlin was a poser of a head coach, and now we know it for fact. Dude has done nothing that wasnt already established by the leadership before he got the nod.

Not a Steelers fan, but this guy has to go.

  16. I think Vick is gonna be the 3rd team QB. Landry Jones was 3rd team for the last 2 years and he has to know the system and play better than Vick.

  17. Michael David Smith, you were one of my most dependable PFT writers…did you really say Vick was the best qb available???? Anybody, and I mean literally, ANYBODY would be better than Vick.

This is a dumb move by Pittsburgh. Let’s hope Ben stays healthy…

  18. This comes as no surprise, the steelers have always been a classless organization lacking morals. The 70’s, keeping big jen, keeping and bringing back the wife beating Harrison has proven this point.

  19. With Ben as starting QB the Steelers have no problem with the character of their QB’s… lol

  20. Ben and Vick will be perfect together. Two wash ups who haven’t won a playoff game in AGES. LOL.

  21. Come mid season if someone goes down, Raiders should put up Cassel or McGloin for sale. Either one is a solid enough back up and they could rake in some decent draft picks from a desperate team

  22. Awesome! I love Michael Vick. He’s the perfect backup QB. The starter gets just about all the practice reps, so the backup usually doesn’t have great timing with the receivers. It’s better if the backup can make things happen outside the playbook. Vick wrote the book on that. Running QBs can’t make it through the season as a starter, but they’re great backups. And who’s a better running QB than Michael Vick? Nobody. And he’s become a great locker room guy too. Great job Steelers!

This is why the Steelers franchise has more world titles than your loser teams. Hear that Patriots****

4 legit titles for the World Champion Patriots. 0 for the Steelers.

You didn’t REALLY expect me to count titles* won* from your whole team cheating with illegal PEDs or paid off officiating did you? LOL!!

  24. Don’t understand this bashing either. They signed a backup QB. That’s it! He was the best one available at the time. Not a Vick fan at all, but he paid his debt and went to jail. On the other hand there is a certain team out there that has been cheating the game for years and getting away with it, and they finally get caught again and they and he cry foul when the penalty comes down.

  25. Not a Steelers fan but Mike has paid his debt and football is his job. He was an exemplary player and team mate when he played for the Eagles and has done a lot if charitable work in the community. Good luck Mike.

  26. as a steeler fan im kind of upset about this… a dog killer? is this what our steelers have become? hiring convicted dog killers? expect backlash on this big time! bad move rooney and tomlin!

It’s not like Vick was just released from prison. He’s played for several teams since then. Or perhaps you missed that. Which means you probably missed that he has done work with helping animals now.

  27. …did you really say Vick was the best qb available???? Anybody, and I mean literally, ANYBODY would be better than Vick.

You literally do not know what the word literally means.

  28. Vick is a true waste of life. No amount of paying your debt to society will ever undo what he did.

I’m sorry to all the Steelers fans who are also true fans of the game, and dog lovers. I’m just glad this didn’t happen to us. I will take a few PSI over this piece of crap any day.

    – Patriots fan

  29. The good news is the steelers don’t run a complicated offense…. Qb just buys time by making a bunch of people miss then throws it deep to a receiver who happens to get open with all the time the qb bought.

Ben does it with muscle. Vick can do it with evasiveness. Offense shouldn’t miss a beat. Good signing.

  30. I believe in Ben’s innocence, so i won’t speak on him. On the other hand though, Michael Vick doesn’t deserve to be in the NFL. It’s not a right to play in the NFL, it’s a privilege. If you’ve been convicted of murdering and torturing dogs which he says in his book then you deserve to be out of the NFL. I don’t respect anyone that thinks differently.

  31. Dog killer. Did you know that Vick’s lawyers kept any mention of gambling out of the plea agreement so as not to jeopardize his future earning potential in the NFL after he got out of prison for killing dogs?

Did you know that if the dogs wouldn’t die when they tried drowning them they would pound the dogs on the ground until they finally died?

Did you know “dogmen” train their dogs by having them chase kittens around in a circle then after they have been worn down they feed the kitten to the dog.

Did you know that they hang a heavy linked chain around the dogs neck to build up their fighting muscles?

Did you know that the fights are to the death? And if the dog won’t fight the kill them with a shotgun, or drowning, or electrocution?

But if you do any of that vile stuff all you gotta do is say your sorry, admit that “mistakes were made”, serve some time then sign multiple million dollar contracts to pay off your debts!

    Go Steelers!

  32. Those ripping Tomlin should be banned from posting because they’re obviously clueless and lack the intelligence to know just how clueless they really are. He’s a borderline top 5 coach and is still the 2nd youngest coach in the league. “Ignorance is bliss” as they say.

  33. I now believe Vick is the smartest guy the NFL has ever seen. For him to be able to continue getting an NFL paycheck with his horrible stats, not to mention admitting he didn’t prepare for games is just… genius.

  34. What happened to someone paying their dues? This man grew up in a culture that did not know anything was real wrong with dog fighting. It is the culture WHICH IS HORRIBLE!

I am NOT a Vick fan and he really border line discuss me with his history but let’s forgive the man if he really has turned it around. He was a very young man when he was first drafted and hopefully a real man now.

Tomlinson is from the same area as Vick and he probably knows him better than anyone else!

  35. Is he gonna be ready to play when his number is called? Seemed like he admitted that he didn’t prepare last season….

  36. I strongly condemn the things Michael Vick, and for that matter what Ray Rice did. However, there is also and a right and wrong way to handle things after those terrible acts. There are numerous other athletes who have neither cared or done anything to even attempt to right their wrongs. These two have, or at least appears to be genuinely trying. That means something to me. Whether the steelers or the Ravens signed Vick, as long as they really do mean what they say, I’m all for 2nd chances.

  37. Look I get that some people will just never like Vick because of what he did but you cannot say he is not a changed man. He’s done a ton of good since he served his substantial sentence- a sentence that most millionaires would buy their way out of. Vick lost pretty much everything. Donte Stallworth was driving drunk/stoned and killed a HUMAN and he served 30 freakin days in jail. And yet very few people seemed to care when he was still in the league. I love dogs but this is America and he earned the second chance we are all entitled to and didn’t screw up like we see all the time in the NFL. I mean it seems like more fans hate Vick than hate Aaron Hernandez.

Anyway, say what you will about his failure to live up to his lofty talents, his poor completion percentage or not being prepared with the Jets, but this guy can still be a viable backup in this league. He’s relatively quick (obviously not like he was) and can still throw the ball on a rope. If Big Ben misses a game or two I’d much rather take my chances with Vick than Landry Jones to pull out a big win. Of course I’ll always wonder “what if” with Mike Vick but I think Pittsburgh made a decent decision here.

  38. Steeler nation in an uproar over this one.

Odd that they can be so upset about Vick, but when it comes to sexual assault crimes by Roethlisberger, they can turn their hypocritical heads the other way.

  39. For the people ripping on Vick’s past, let’s not forget what Big Ben did…

  40. Vick > Bills/Manuel-Cassel-Taylor; Jets/Fitzpatrick-Petty; Patriots/Garoppolo; ‘Phins/Tannehill-Moore; Ravens/Schaub; Steelers/Jones; Browns/McCown-Manziel; Bengals/Dalton-McCarron; Titans/Mettenberger-Whitehurst; — enough already, you folks get the idea lol

  41. I have a dog and I hate dog fighting but I still think he deserves a chance.

Vick paid his debt for his crime and it was to us as a society. He doesn’t owe anyone individually. Lets keep moving forward.

  42. Good signing. If Ben gets hurt I have more faith in Vick winning than Landry Jones. Vick has paid his debt and if Tony Dungy says Vick is a changed man I will take his word.

    Here We Go Steelers!

  43. STILLlolatpatshaters,
More evidence that the Patriots actively cheated to their SB wins then the Steelers. Every team was doing the same stuff in the 70’s, and if you truly believe the Steelers were the only ones then your a fool. Where the evidence that the Steelers “paid off” the officials in the Seahawk SB? The officiating was horrible for both sides. They beat Arizona fair and square, where is the outcry for bad officials when they left Fitzgerald run way out of bounds and try to tackle Harrison without ever trying to reestablishing himself.

  44. Any team that loses a franchise quarterback is going to be in trouble. In the AFC North however it seems the Steelers are the only one that have one.

  45. Right…well regardless of all that nonsense I bet Vicks gna look sweet in a steeler uniform, actually excited to see him get some action In preseason too to see how he looks, wish the bills would have gave him a look

It’s not like Vick was just released from prison. He’s played for several teams since then. Or perhaps you missed that. Which means you probably missed that he has done work with helping animals now.

I don’t care what hes done to try and repair his forever tarnished image..hes a dog killer. a monster of a human being and there is no place for him on the steelers! we are not Baltimore, Oakland, ny jets, Philadelphia. we don’t hire people like this! this is an indictment on the leadership..aka mike tomlin. theres a reason we are the best organization in the nfl. and it isn’t from employing savages like Michael vick!!!!

  47. Man, get off your high horses. Unlike 99% of ever other NFL who got busted doing something sleazy, Vick did his time like a man. There wasn’t a single peep out of him. Compare that to the mass of players who’d spend years crying about it being unfair, how it was racist, who’d blame it all on the media…and a thousand more lame excuses players drop daily. No, Vick stood up, took ownership of his actions, paid the price without a single complaint and hasn’t been in trouble since. I bet Vick was a bigger man than half of these people equating killing a dog and killing a human being. Hey Pats fan who called Vick a waste of life. Did you say that about Donté Stallworth? No, no you did not.

    Grow up.

  48. The Man made a big mistake, went to prison for it, paid his depth to society and people have so much hate their heart that they are going to hold this over this guy’s head forever. It does not make any sense. Let anyone without sin cast the first stone. If you think his football skills has declined then stick to that and not about something he did years ago.

  49. Vick has already proven that he’s just along for the paycheck when it comes to being a back up. Sad display of goldbricking he did with the Jets.

I can’t believe he was able to convince Tomlin and Co. that he would work hard and be reliable.

Good luck Pittsburgh, here’s hoping Ben stays healthy this season.

  50. Michael Vick did his time, and by all indications he’s been a solid citizen since. I am happy the Steelers signed him. If he ever does get to play, he will have more weapons at his disposal than he has had in years.

    Good pickup.

  51. In one word: depressing. But now might be a good time to mention that you should never advertise dogs or cats ‘free to good home’ because you are giving them to this type of abuser.

  52. Didn’t Big Ben Rape 2 women? Didn’t Vick kill dozens of dogs? Stay classy Pittsburgh. Why can’t every team be world class like the Pats?

  53. Not happy about this signing.

That said, most of the comments here are trash. It wasn’t always this way. There was a time when the antagonists here were pretty clever and funny, and there were a lot of other people who had actual interesting insights to share. What happened?

  54. As a steeler fan not so happy with having Vic aboard pray BB spent get injured or we are done for sure loosing Pouncy hurts ,but we must move in Wallace will fill in just great
    Lets got for 7

  55. Nice signing Pittsburgh – I can’t wait to hear about how good a guy he is in the community!

This team is so desperate it’s not even funny anymore. The season hasn’t even started and I already feel bad for them.

  56. I can’t exactly say I’m surprised with this signing, but just a warning to all Steeler fans the idea of an accused rapist and dog killer as the qbs is going to draw the trolls to you quicker than a fat kid eating a chocolate cake.

  57. I love the steelers fans … “oh he’s a dog killer, I can’t support Vick” yet they say this with their big Ben jersey on .. but I guess sexual assult is no big deal ..

  58. All you Steeler fans who are mad about what Vick did, just remember he served his time and deserves a second chance. Plus let’s not forget what Ben has been accused of multiple times.

  59. The Steelers signing Vick as backup just shows how the team really feels about Landry Jones as an NFL QB. How many more seasons are the Steelers going to waste a roster spot on a guy who would be hard pressed to be a backup in arena football. Make no mistake Landry Jones will somehow be on the roster again for some unknown reason this upcoming season only because the Steelers simply hate admitting they made a mistake in wasting a draft pick on him. Like the wasted Dri Archer pick the Steelers will keep them both on the roster no matter how useless they both really are just to save face.

  60. Poor move Pittsburgh, poor poor move. He’s washed up even as a backup. Steelers love to sign the reformed dog keeler. See what I did there. Stupid move Pittsburgh, stupid, stupid, stupid, move.

  61. you dudes act like there someone better could be had as a backup. It’s not like there are deals to be made in trade. You grief the guy for dogfighting and spending 2 years in jail for it, but the man he’s backing up victimized women and got away with it. No one dwells on that.

  62. Sorry Steelers you got this one wrong. Did you know that Vick used a pliers to pull out all of his favorite dogs teeth?? Thats about one of the sickest individuals on the planet you just hired

  63. Hey, at least it’s not Andy Reid bad. Sign Vick to a $100 mill contract and then get fired a year later.

The funny thing with Vick is, no matter how bad he plays, or how unprepared he looks, the coaches never throw him under the bus and teams keep signing him.

    I wish I knew why.

  64. I’m a lifelong, die-hard Steelers fan, and I’m disappointed with what i’m reading by some of the so-called fans. So you rip the rooney’s and tomlin for signing Mike Vick, but you have no problem with Big Ben being there? At least Vick admitted his wrong and paid his debt. Big ben did his crime…2x, but you all support him? Get a grip. Support the team, not the players. Most of them aren’t angles…geez. Go Steelers

  65. 66. Three words for those of you who are so angry with the Steelers signing Michael Vick that you are threatening to sell your tickets, throw out your Terrible Towels, burn your jerseys and never watch a game again:

    Get over it.

    You are ridiculous.

Pray for Ben’s health? Do you think Vick is worse than Landry?

Vick has paid his debt to society. He served 21 months in prison after pleading guilty to federal charges in August 2007 for his role in a dog-fighting ring, missed two NFL seasons, and likely lost $100 million.

Do you think he should have served a life sentence? Are you know judging that someone can’t change and be rehabilitated. How does he not deserve a second chance? He’s been clean and travels around the country teaching kids dog fighting is wrong.

  67. As a life long Steeler fan, I wish they wouldn’t have signed Vick. Yes, he paid his “debt” according to the law, but I still prefer he is not on my team. As well, his QB skills have also eroded the past few years and he is a china doll who gets injured when the wind blows. I can’t believe nobody else was available.

  68. You know, I think I just had a moment of clarity.
Clearly, NFL quarterbacks are in great demand. Perfectly average QBs are commanding large salaries. 3rd string QBs are not good.
So, we seem to have a shortage of decent QBs.
That kind of predicts, in my mind, a change coming to the position. I actually don’t know what the change might be, but it seems logical that NFL teams will not stumble along with mediocre players at an important position.
Now, I’d like to say something about M.Vick. After the publicity about his dog fighting operation (very offensive), I was perfectly happy to relegate M.Vick to the dust bin of NFL history. Forget him. But he paid his debt and fought his way back and kept his nose clean. I respect M.Vick for coming back. I do believe he has been re-ha-bil-it-ated.

  69. an ex-convict and extreme animal abuse/murder/torture, absolutely disgusting, regardless of what is role, purpose or function is. absolutely disgusting. If Ben goes down, is there any significance who the QB is, the season is over at that point so let Landry get the snaps and recall Tajh Boyd or Gardner as 3rd string. Anything but this non-sense. Old man Rooney is spinning in his grave. Pathetic.

  70. As others have stated previously, I am a lifelong Steelers fan. I am mortified, disappointed, and angry that the Rooneys and Kevin Colbert would bring this human garbage onto the team. Some offenses don’t merit second chances . . . like rape. Maybe the Steelers can find a QB at some point in the future that the entirety of Steelers Nation doesn’t have to hang its head in shame about.

  71. What other QB were availble? Jason Campbell and Kyle Orton both retired, Rex Grossman awful, Josh Freeman Dolphins, Case Keenum is with the Rams, Vince Young or Jamarcus out of shape, Josh Johnson career backups. Vick can come in make defenses honest.

  72. Much better guy and teammate than he gets credit for. Enough already with the dog thing. It’s becoming like the 1968 Santa snowball thing in Philly. Come up with something new people. Best of luck to him in Pittsburgh!

  73. Why do people care so much? He won’t see the field unless Ben gets hurt and if Ben gets hurt the Steelers are doomed anyway so what is the difference. Plus he can play just as well as Gradkowski.

Also – the man paid his dues with the Dogs. He went from a $100 million man to a man in prison. I am sure he has changed for the better after that one. He also has not been involved in any off field incidents since. Cut the guy some slack. He is a back up QB who, if Ben stays healthy, will not take a step on the field.

  74. I have been a Steelers fan since birth. I have never liked Vick. I have also seen Landry Jones play. He thinks his receivers are 7 feet tall. As much as I don’t like Vick, this was a smart move.

  75. So now your backfield consists of a serial rapist, serial dog killer, and serial stoner. Keep it classy Pittsburgh…

  76. Amazing Pittsburgh just friggin’ amazing. How some of you have the nerve to complain about your back up quarterbackS past HISTORY. Lets just hope your date raping starter stays healthy OKAY.

  77. Off field issues aside, Vick can’t play the position and was caught out for being unprepared. His work ethic sucks, his football knowledge is poor, and his physical skills have eroded.

Poor signing for a backup. I’d rather have them sign Brady Quinn, John Skelton, or even Vince Young.

One cannot overlook the Newport News, Va. connection here, with Tomlin and the Vick bros being from that area. This seems to me like Tomlin doing a favor for one of his dogs (pun intended).

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tomlin replace Ben with his new prize on the pretense that Ben needs a rest or has some mysterious injury. Tomlin keepin it real.

    —–
Nah, not every team was doing it 🙂

The Steelers were a laughingstock NFL franchise, only finishing over .500 7 times in their entire franchise existence before 1971 and then they became a powerhouse…. funny what a little “help” can do.

Bradshaw apologized on a radio show for his and his team’s PED cheating and said “what we did was wrong”. Why would he even think of saying such a thing if it wasn’t wrong and everyone was doing it? Hmmmm.

Read your very own Steve Courson’s book and be informed.

“Where the evidence that the Steelers “paid off” the officials in the Seahawk SB? The officiating was horrible for both sides.”
    ——-
It’s the only logical, sensible and reasonable explanation for what we saw. And no it wasn’t horrible for both sides, just one side. 🙂

The Steelers are the only Super Bowl champion in the history of the NFL where the game referee apologized to the opposing team and admitted he “impacted the result of the game”. Funny how he didn’t make any such apology to the Steelers…hmm

” They beat Arizona fair and square”
    Nah not really.

First of all I got two words for you. “Doctor” and “Rydze”. 🙂

Secondly… Warner’s non fumble at the end of the game. I LOLed when I saw that wasn’t even reviewed. Rooney must have been in the booth.

It would have been reviewed and reversed and since Steelers had a 15 yard penalty for roughing on the play it was Cardinals ball at the Steeler 29 for one more shot. Would they have gotten the TD? I don’t know for sure, but I do know they had a really good jump ball catcher there in Larry Fitzgerald. So I liked their chances. 🙂

  81. What a waste of a roster spot.
Vick’s play has been awful the last few years.
I can’t believe he fleeced Philly for all that cash.
I thought they would have had him whacked for stealing so much cash.
    Flush him.

  82. I liked the NFL so much better before the internet. I never knew much of anything about players’ personal lives and I liked it that way.
The more I think about it, I liked people, in general, much more before the internet.

  83. Leaving aside my personal feelings about what Vick did, this is a bad fit in terms of whatever is left of Vick’s talents and the team’s scheme. The Steelers have two legitimate deep threats and there’s no evidence to suggest that Vick can actually deliver the ball to them. It’s a thin market so no one expects a great QB to be available at this point in the year, but there were better options–strictly from a football standpoint–available.

  84. Steelers are so desperate. If Joe Paterno were alive, they’d be hiring him as head coach. LOL.

  85. Vick killed dogs and he did his time in prison…that is why many of you feel that he “deserves” a second chance.

I must assume that you would apply the same logic to Seinfeld’s Micheal Richards…after all he didn’t kill dogs, beat a woman/kids, or hurt anyone at all. Same goes for what Rush Limbaugh said about McNabb.

Clearly both of these guys have “served their debt to society” right? They “deserve” a second chance right?

Oh you say that they said something that hurt no one but was “politically incorrect” and “offensive” so their “sentence” must be permanent?

Kill dogs and all you have to do is some time in jail….offend someone and you are branded forever never to get the acclaimed ‘second chance”.

I am questioning my loyalty to the Steelers right now.

  86. Since Big Ben has NEVER completed more than 2 seasons in a row, odds are, this season he will be out at least 1-2 games for some reason. If it’s the Ravens game, expect the Ravens to sign Adalius Thomas to a 1 week deal to give Vick flashbacks of 2003.
In all seriousness, they are in deep trouble if Ben goes down. Vick doesn’t prepare, has a hard time being a pocket passer, and doesn’t have the legs to be a scrambler anymore.

  87. Michael Vick got hurt to years ago he was playing very well and Chip Kelly’s offense and he would’ve got his starting job back if Nick Foles wouldn’t of had a magical season. This guy is a good back up on a good team last year because he was on an awful team in New York and didn’t stand a chance and he thought going into the year thinking he had a shot to start because that is what was told to him when he got there he knew he wasn’t going to start but now he knows he’s going to be the back up big Ben goes down she can come in and help the Steelers win games. Also the guy that said The Steelers have to the threat receivers and Michael Vick can’t get he ball down field to them is a joke even at 35 he still has got one of the strongest on in the NFL. also the guy could if they wanted to they could bring him in in packages like the Eagles did when they first brought him in. Now I doubt that will happen but it is an option for them. I am a lifelong Eagles fan and I am also installed with her but you Steelers fans sound very hypocritical don’t want them there because he put participated in dog fights and killing of them . Which went to jail did his time and came back out and has done a lot for the community including speaking out against animal abuse and dogfighting when you’re starting quarterback has been accused of rape twice. This Michael Vick is a much different person then the Michael Vick that went to jail. I think this is a great signing for the Steelers.

  88. Mike Vick is a despicable human being.

Not only did he systematically & for his personal pleasure torture already crying & hurt animals, he did it fox six years multiple times a week. He lied about it to anyone that would listen until he finally knew he HAD to plea bargain rather than risk going to court & fighting the charges because the plea bargain was such a sweet deal compared to what he would have faced if convicted.

Twice NFL franchises gave Vick large contracts & in both spots he refused to earn his contracts & put in the required work needed to be as good as he could be.

This guy is just a over-hyped fraud & as stated above, Tomlin & Vick are from the same area & this is just Tomlin helping out his boys.
