On Brady ruling, Jerry Jones is simply ready for some football

AP

Regarding Tom Brady’s suspension, some believed that the owners pushing for Commissioner Roger Goodell to stick with four games included Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. On Thursday night, Jones didn’t have much to say about the outcome from federal court.

“I really hadn’t let my guard down about playing the Patriots [in Week Five], whether [Brady] was playing or not,” Jones said Thursday night, via 105.3 The Fan in Dallas. “[Bill] Belichick and that organization are tough competition no matter what. And so I expected all we could handle, one way or the other, Brady or not. So from that standpoint it didn’t change anything.

“I’m ready for us to play football. Certainly I understood many sides of the issue, but as far as I’m concerned let’s keep that over in the courtroom and get to the football field and play some ball.”

Many would agree. Many more would prefer that the courtroom festivities end, too. But the league opted to prolong the case by filing an immediate appeal.

In the next item to be posted, I’ll explain why the league could eventually regret that decision.

  1. He’s so full of it. The Cowboys would probably beat the Patriots in Dallas with Jimmy G at quarterback and now this game becomes very competitive with Tom Brady playing.

  2. Give it up NFL, What appellate Judge is going to side with you when asked point blank by Judge Berman, “Do you have any direct evidence that Tom Brady ordered the balls below the legal Limit? Nash: No.

Case closed. If these owners are dumb enough to let clownshow compulsive liar Goodell waste more of their money, then let them..

It keeps getting proven over and over Goodell has no Integrity and this scumbag has the balls to talk about Integrity. Gimme a frickin break.

Jones understands squat. He thinks players are serfs. He doesn’t know what’s going on his own house.

Right… Turning a team that he bought for a 150 mil into a multi billion dollar organization and keeping them in the spotlight without winning a superbowl in 20 years… He definitely doesn’t understand squat

  4. And Jerrah, at least Roger took a position and stuck with it. After at first backing Roger, you are back-peddling and letting Roger take the heat. Where I come from we say those are the actions of a coward.

  5. I have no doubt that Jerruh is speaking honestly when he expresses his wish that what happens in a courtroom would stay in a courtroom.

  6. Damn. I thought what Jerry said was perfect and he is trashed. Lets watch some football. Jerry knows what he is doing. I must say out of everyone I’ve ever heard he is probably more well spoken than anyone. I mean besides Tommy when selling Callahan brakes.

When was it that you thought he was anything else?

Remember that old joke about the field lines being snorted up by Irvin? The Deion years were among the most corrupt in football history. All you current Pats haters were hating on big D back then. You know it’s true. Same for SF(Sticky Fingers), Miami (fake spike), Washington (where to begin?) and Pittsburg (no call hands Steelers a SB win over Dallas). After a time all hatred gets redirected and you forget and buy into the childish notion that former dynasties were squeaky clean.

It’s just making Haternaton look sillier, if that’s actually possible.

  8. Belichick will take no prisoners and Brady will make it his mission to embarrass those that publicly questioned his integrity.
Jerry will need another face lift after crying over his 45-10 beat down.

  9. Such a Patriot Hater move. Piss and moan and bang tables, but once it doesn’t go your way, it’s stupid and you don’t want to talk about it. Never change, haters. Never change.

  10. Jerry Jones…the one and only reason the NFL never planned to reduce the suspension by even a game…game 4 VS Dallas. You mess with bull..you get the horns!

  11. Sure Jerrah, deflect and praise. Learn that from Belichick? All you got was a fine, nobody stole your draft picks!

  12. Unfortunately for the owners, if they allow Goodell to appeal Berman’s initial decision, on further review it could result in an even more widespread reversal of the CBA’s allowances of power to the commissioner and league.

Be careful where you let this fool take you, owners.

  13. What do want a billionaire to say…”Now I’m really worried”?

Jerry will have a full stadium and the Cowboys will win anyway, unless the patriots cheat again.

  14. C’mon Jerry….be a man and admit it: you were part of the owners group that wanted to keep the 4 game suspension. Now that that has been nullified….the court case really doesn’t matter to you any more. It was never about integrity of the league….it was about giving your team an advantage…..exactly the opposite of league integrity.

I’m not surprised that Goodell immediately filed an appeal….they had to in order to maintain their appearances, however It wouldn’t surprise me if at some point in the middle of the season, when everyone is actually talking football, the league’s appeal is dropped because “it’s time to move on” or some other line of BS.

Agree!!! However, if anything has come from how the NFL has handled this debacle 🙁 , is Brady and the Pats, plus Belicheat, will be under a microscope this entire season 🙂 My bet is the refs won’t oblige every time Brady whines for a flag, so Belicheat is really going to have to get creative in his cheating! It will be a great game and I hope Hardy and Gregory have a FEAST!! Only time will tell……..Ohhh, big, bad Pats are coming to town and gonna lay 50 on us= the sportsmanship of most Pats fans…smh…I say bring it on and what will be will be!

  16. You all are a bunch of crack pots. Go wear your tin foil hats and do more research on how the moon landing was faked…

  17. I have no idea how the Patriots season will unfold now that this mess is over (for now) … I will say this… a Patriots/Cowboy game, although great TV, means exactly squat in the AFC picture or NFC picture or have any real bearing on winning their respective divisions.

    Jerry’s right… Lets play football…

  18. Speaking of Deflated Balls – does Jones have enough to answer this question?

“Does Roger Goodell meet the NFL Owners’ stated criteria of being a “person with unquestioned integrity”?”

If yes – please explain how one can be caught in well over 2 dozen proven lies to the public and under sworn testimony and still have “unquestioned integrity”

If not, then doesn’t the Owner’s own NFL Constitution, Article VIII-B state that “only a person of unquestioned integrity can serve as commissioner?”

Really – if the owners and league won’t follow their own rules, why should they expect the players to?

Or maybe Jerry wanted to try to stick it to the guy who penalized the team $10 mil for supposed Cap violations in an uncapped year…
