The Buccaneers needed to remake their offensive line, so it makes sense that they cut one of last year’s starters.
Former starting right guard Patrick Omameh was among the Buccaneers cuts announced today as they got to the 53-man limit.
Omameh was being used at tackle this year, but apparently didn’t do enough to secure future employment after the Bucs spent a pair of high picks on offensive linemen.
The Bucs also cut veteran defensive ends Da’Quan Bowers and Lawrence Sidbury, Jr., linebacker Larry Dean and kicker Connor Barth. They waived cornerback Jude Adjei-Barimah, wide receiver Kaelin Clay, tackle Edawn Coughman, defensive end Ryan Delaire, cornerback Brandon Dixon, wide receiver Donteea Dye, cornerback Isaiah Frey, linebacker Khaseem Greene, safety Chris Hackett, linebacker Josh Keyes, wide receiver Tavarres King, quarterback Seth Lobato, defensive tackle Caushaud Lyons and waived-injured kicker Patrick Murray and guard Garrett Gilkey.
They placed wide receiver Kenny Bell and defensive end Larry English on injured reserve.
