The Chargers are saying goodbye to longtime kicker Nick Novak.

Novak was cut today, Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

That means undrafted rookie Josh Lambo has won the kicking competition. Lambo had a good college career at Texas A&M, and the Chargers liked what they saw of him in training camp and the preseason.

The 34-year-old Novak has spent the last four years in San Diego. Last year he went 22-for-26 on field goals with a long of 52, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him catch on somewhere else. But his days in San Diego are done.
