Tyler Sash, who played safety for the Giants for two seasons, was reportedly found dead this morning in his Iowa home. He was 27.

KCCI in Des Moines reports that Sash was found dead at about 8 a.m. by a family member who came by his house to walk his dog. HawkeyeNation.com first reported that Sash had died.

Sash played his college football for the Iowa Hawkeyes and was a sixth-round draft pick of the Giants in 2011. Sash played for the Giants in 2011 and 2012, including playing in Super Bowl XLVI. He was released prior to the start of the 2013 season.

The cause of death has not been reported, and there has been no word of Sash having any health problems. On Saturday he was tweeting about watching the Iowa game, and several former Iowa players have tweeted today that they remember him as a great teammate.
