Days before the opener, the Saints have another of their top defensive players being investigated by police.

According to Katie Moore of WWL-TV in New Orleans, Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan is under investigation in connection to an incident at a nightclub last weekend, in which he allegedly exchanged words with a woman, swatted her rear and then was confronted by her boyfriend in the bathroom.

The incident may have been sparked by Jordan spraying champagne, according to the WWL report.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune obtained a statement from New Orleans Police Department communications director Tyler Gamble which confirmed there was an altercation.

“Detectives are reviewing surveillance video and the investigation is ongoing,” Gamble said. “No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made at this point.”

The Saints did not respond to either organizations requests for comment.

They gave Jordan a five-year, $60 million contract extension this offseason.
