Giants rookie safety Landon Collins will play his first NFL game against one of the best passing attacks in the league on Sunday night in Dallas, and he’s eager to prove himself.
Collins says that if Tony Romo and the Cowboys think they can exploit him because he’s a rookie, they’re going to be sorry.
“Tony Romo said he’s looking for key matchups,” Collins said. “If he’s going to look for key matchups, he’s going to pick on me. . . . I’m a rookie, but I mean, he comes towards my way, and he won’t be happy.”
Collins was an All-American safety at Alabama and doesn’t think the challenge in the NFL will be significantly greater than what he faced in college.
“We played in big bowl games, we played in games where it cost the most,” Collins said. “We played in games that can make or break a season. Same thing, only it’s the beginning of the season now. Not really nervous about it.”
Romo, Jason Witten and Dez Bryant may make Collins rethink his confidence tomorrow night.
