A fan fell over a railing at Sports Authority Field, and suffered serious injuries last night.

According to Tom McGhee of the Denver Post, police are investigating the fall, and there is no indication of foul play.

“The man went over the railing,” said Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson. “It appears to be an accident.”

The man fell approximately 15 feet.

Last month, a fan died when he fell off the upper deck at an Atlanta Braves game.

  1. “How hard is it to not fall over the railing in a stadium? I mean really people, this keeps happening way too often.”

You may have answered your own question.

  2. Keep letting idiots get drunk at games. They really need to cut people off before they do stupid things and almost kill themselves. Too many drunks is just one reason I don’t take my family to games.

  3. Time for plexiglass to go up at every stadium to protect idiot fans from falling over the railings.

  4. You people have issues. Someone is seriously injured and you make jokes. When something happens to a member of your family just remember your comments about this.

  5. Darwinism in action. Now we’re going to see 6′ high barriers at the front of the balconies to protect idiots from themselves as the cost of obstructing the view for everyone else in the balconies.

  6. “The man went over the railing,” said Denver police spokesman Capt. Sonny Obvious. “It appears to be an accident.”

Not that I disagree with you, but cutting off people at a game isn’t even possible. They cant prevent the not drunk guy from buying beer for the extremely drunk guy.

  8. From the information presented, how have so many of you determined it was a drunken idiot doing stupid? It may have been a legitimate accident, such as him descending the stairs on the way to the concourse and tripped on something on the last step he didn’t see and his momentum pitched him over the rail. I’ll grant you the odds are better that alcohol and/or lack of situational awareness is the root cause, but we don’t know for certain based on what is written here.

Prayers to the man for a complete recovery.

  9. I’m 47. I’ve seen a lot of baseball, football, etc, and for the last 25 year there’s maximum coverage of anything that happens in sports, anywhere. It seems there’s a huge increase in the number of fans falling from on high at parks and stadiums. I guess people are just getting dumber and dumber. A faulty railing MAYBE once every five years, and I think that’s being generous. But to have so many lately? People’s survival instincts must be becoming disconnected somehow. Sort of like all this texting and driving. People don’t seem to get that they’re going along at a reasonably high rate of speed even on city streets, in a very heavy machine. And then play pong on their phone at the same time. No survival instinct remaining?
