Reggie Bush carted off early

In his first game with the 49ers, running back Reggie Bush didn’t last long.

The 10th-year veteran, attempting to convert a short third-down run, emerged hopping on his right leg. He was checked out on the sideline before being taken to the locker room via cart.

The team says it’s a left leg, with Bush’s return questionable.

He has eight yards on two carries in a back-and-forth scoreless game that has included a blocked field goal for the 49ers, a missed field goal for the Vikings, a muffed punt by 49ers running back Jarryd Hayne, and a failure of the Vikings to convert on fourth and short inside San Fran territory.

UPDATE 12:00 a.m. ET: Bush was ruled out for the remainder of the game due to a calf injury.
