Jarvis Landry wins AFC special teams player of the week

Many think Jarvis Landry will become a special receiver. For now, he’s simply the AFC’s special-teams player of the week.

Landry’s 69-yard punt return for a touchdown broke a 10-10 tie and paved the way for a 17-10 Miami win at Washington. The guy who wears No. 14 becomes the 14th Dolphin to win the award, and the first since defensive end Olivier Vernon in Week Eight of the 2012 season.

Landry also is the first Dolphin to return a punt for a touchdown since Marcus Thigpen in Week One of the 2012 season.

The second-year wideout also had eight catches for 53 yards.

  1. Juice is clutch! I can’t remember when the Dolphins had a more promising group of young WR’s.

    GO DOLPHINS!

  2. He is a promising receiver, and a very good one. The only reason he doesn’t have ridiculous stats is because of all the other receiver talent on the team. Jordan Cameron TE lead the team in receiving yards, Greg Jennings was making clutch 3rd down catches, and Rishard Mathews making a TD catch. Kenny Stills and Devante Parker haven’t even gotten in the mix yet. That said, Landry is the man.

  3. Dolphins fans are the most fanbolic bunch. The only reason he doesn’t have ridiculous stats is the other recievers? Please.

He’s not special. He’s a slot receiver who catches 3 yard passes. 8 for 53 is the antithesis of special.

Looking back to last year…(sarc) with that “great” group of Wallace and Clay…he had 84 receptions for 758 and 5 TDs. This kind of production can be produced by Eric Decker. This production is very Eddie Royal.

    THIS is not special.

  4. Good stuff #14, you’re definitely the go to guy on gameday!!! The coaches also did a good job… Please give #14 more touches early to open up the offense!!!

    Go Dolphins!!!
