Panthers middle linebacker Luke Kuechly has not been cleared to return after suffering a concussion last week.

The Panthers announced today that Kuechly is out Sunday against the Texans. It’s the first game Kuechly has missed in his career.

A.J. Klein will start at middle linebacker, and rookie linebacker David Mayo will be active as well.

The Panthers did get some good news on defense, as defensive tackle Star Lotulelei appears to be ready to play after missing Week One with a foot injury.

  1. Luke Kuechly not cleared, will miss first game of career
    ==============================
    He’s been playing in the NFL for a while now, the first game of his career was some time ago, and he didn’t miss it.

    So he won’t miss the first game of his career.

  2. Bust!!!

    Lol… Just kidding… He is awesome…

    I’m so glad our idiot GM Mark Dominik drafted Mark Barron instead…

    Get well soon Luke…

  3. “So he won’t miss the first game of his career.”

    Oh geeze the semantics police are at it today.

    Funny because I read it as he would aa game for the first time in his career, not miss the first game he was ever playing.

  4. What would happen to the inspector if it were Butkus and they failed to clear. Lord have mercy on that inspector.

  5. A study was just released showing that 87 of 91 deceased former players had CTE. The league is at the doorstep of requiring permanent, sweeping changes to the game before litigation and scared parents kill the NFL entirely. And if anyone doesn’t think it can happen, boxing and horse racing once dwarfed the NFL in popularity.
