The Broncos are committed to Gary Kubiak’s offense. Unless they aren’t.
Despite claims that the Broncos will stick with Kubiak’s under-center and stretch plays and rollouts approach, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports that Manning primarily will operate out of the shotgun in Sunday night’s game against the Lions.
It actually would make the most sense to use both offenses, interchangeably and without any real pattern or trend. That would keep opposing defenses guessing — and it would force them to spend time preparing for both offenses.
Either way, Kubiak needs to let Manning do the things with which he’s comfortable. Good coaches realize it’s not about their system but about their players, and how to get the most out of them.
