Jadeveon Clowney in a walking boot after Texans loss

AP

Any time a No. 1 overall pick appears anything other than 100 percent, there’s going to be concern.

But for Texans pass-rusher Jadeveon Clowney, his history is going to cause people to notice even the slightest limp.

According to Tania Ganguli of ESPN.com, Clowney was wearing a walking boot on his right foot Friday.

He left Thursday’s game against the Colts briefly, but returned to finish the game, playing more than half the snaps.

Of course, Clowney missed most of his rookie year with knee problems, and is coming back from microfracture surgery anyway.

The boot might not be a sign of serious injury, but with Clowney, it’s worth keeping an eye on.

  1. The Texans will regret not taking Bortles with that pick. Their QB situation is trash, and they had the perfect opportunity to draft a young, emerging player!!

  2. Clowney has played well this year even though he doesn’t have the sack numbers – he’s actually been their best player against the run. But the trolls won’t be out until he’s hurt or has articles written about him like this.

Brilliant, Texans bad QB situation is used to promote Bortles as being good? Only a Jax fan could come up with that one.

Clooney played better than Watt last night….Yeah I said it!

Watt was also double and sometimes triple-teamed for most of the game.

  6. He was limping in the first half. They should’ve took him out then. It only looks like he’s playing better because teams are finally seriously scheming against Watt.

  7. Only Fantasy Football Stat GEEKS will criticize Clowney after watching his display last night!!!!

That young man is a BEAST!!!!

Can totally annihilate O-lineman and blows up rushing plays ROUTINELY!!!!

No he doesn’t have “flashy numbers” but if you WATCH THE GAME his impact is CLEARLY EVIDENT!!!

And as a poster above me said, “He had a better night than JJ Watt”!!

I really like Romeo Crennel as a coach but he needs to get that D figured out!!! The LB’s and secondary are a HUGE liability and where the hell is Cush??? That dude acted like he’s Luke Keuchly all during Hard Knocks and he’s virtually invisible in the bright lights of primetime!!!

Stupid statement. Teams have been scheming against Watt the past 2 years. He’s playing well because this is who he is. He didn’t get a chance to play last year due to injury.

  9. Lol better than watt? They both had 2 tackles. He has 9 tackles on the year. Watt has 26 tackles and 4 sacks. Lol clowney was awful in run game last night

  10. Clowney is not good, he has 12 total tackles, he is not helping stop the run, dude is junk. I dont get all the praise he gets from some people. He once in a blue moon makes a hard hit and that got him #1 overall. It was a waste

  11. Clowney made 2 tackles last night that i saw, 1 a good play and the other a penalty, the guy is a dud. Funny thing before he made the first tackle, i was like havent heard his name all game. He should go thank the boobs at BSPN and the overplayed tackle.

Watt was double teamed all night and STILL had the same amount of tackles as Clowney. And if he a BEAST in the run game how come 32 year old Frank Gore gashed them for 98 yards? Did you even watch the game??

Because it’s a team game, genius, and the rest of the team, especially the inside linebackers, sucked.

  14. Its funny, the announcers actually called the dude out on how bad je was doing against the run. 1st amd 10 dude goes wide and opens a huge lane i could run in. No clue why this dude was drafted so high. Mcdonald and watt on the same side would be crazy. 3 -4 d is trash

  15. Clowney doesnt blow up run plays….ever Frank Gore was running all over and Clowney touched him twice. If he is blowing up run plays how did a 32 year old Frank Gore behind a pretty low end O line run for 100 yards with a YAC of 4.5?
