Aaron Rodgers’ no-pick streak at Lambeau has ended

AP

Rams linebacker James Laurinaitis recently became the franchise’s all-time leader in career tackles. He pulled off something nearly as impressive on Sunday.

Laurinaitis intercepted an Aaron Rodgers pass at Lambeau Field.

It was the first time since a December 2, 2012 game against the Vikings that Rodgers threw an interception at home. And the streak made its way to 587 throws.

Safety Mark Barron gets a huge assist for the pick. Barron blitzed, leaped, and tipped the throw. Laurinaitis then laid out to make the interception.

The turnover did not harm to the Packers. For the first time this year, the Rams generated no points off a turnover, thanks to an interception thrown by quarterback Nick Foles to Packers defensive back Michah Hyde.

  1. Yeah and figures it’d end on a batted ball. On the positive side, he got away with some should have been picks over the streak (like the easy pick the KC guy dropped a couple weeks ago) so it’s impressive it went as long as it did.

  2. Aaron got a little greedy trying to throw a 10 yard pass. He needs to get back to his bread and butter of check downs and the low risk deep ball every now and then.

  3. I have been regularly watching the Packers since late 2002. I think this is probably the best team I have seen since I started watching them.

  4. “Brady’s Better, still no picks”

As a fellow Pats fan I would point out GB has already played one more complete game than the Pats and now a partial game on top of that.

So let’s not get too crazy yet just because Rodgers threw his first pick at home in who knows how many games, a lot.

  5. That ball hit the ground, should have been called incomplete. And then the officials miss the spot on the Eddie Lacy run on 4th Down when he clearly was across the marker. At least the Pack can overcome the bad officiating because that’s what good teams do.

  6. And a terrible call against Clinton-Dix. Goodell hates the Packers so much he’s trying everything he can to hurt them.

You are simply wrong on both accounts. And replay shows it.

  8. becoming pretty apparent that green bays offense consists of catching 12 guys on defense and/or making them jump offside. since the int rodgers is 3-6 for 12 yards. guy gets rattled easy.

  14. It’s fun watching the Vikings’ fans struggling to put down Rodgers.

They’re like fat guys finding flaws with supermodels.

  15. Teddy Bridgewater only needs 10 TD passes to catch Rodgers. At the rate he’s going, he won’t have 10 all year.

Rodgers is the best active regular season QB in the NFL. But he’s struggling today like he usually does in the playoffs. He’s ahead of schedule this year!

  20. First of all, Lacy should’ve been given a 1st down. That call killed the offense. Also, that pass interference call on Clinton-Dix was bogus, and extended a touchdown drive for the Rams. Also, Rodgers’ 2nd “interception” hit the ground, causing the ball to come out, and that led to a field goal for the Rams.

The Packers are still in great position to win this game since they get the ball to start the 2nd half, but the refs need to get their act together.

================================ Bur Rodgers actually makes the playoffs.

23 Td’s and 7 INT’ and a 101 rating in 11 playoff games and a Super Bowl victory.

    Struggling.

  22. I was actually referring to BOTH Interceptions. They BOTH hit the ground. He should still have 0 on the season. Oh well, at least they’ll still go 19-0.

  23. The announcers are absolutely terrible for this game. And AR is doing terrible as well today. He threw right to fairly and he dropped it and then fumbles the very next play.

  24. Rogers is a great QB. It’s not fair to compare him to Brady. It’s not fair comparing anyone to Brady. Not may QB’s can claim to have played in so many big games, with so many championships, trophies, rings, etc.

  25. Holy crap, look at all the obsessed Vikings fans! Nothing better to do than watch the Packers and comment obsessively about it, huh? That’s too bad…..

Packer fans complaining about refs. “Better football for better people”? Not so much.
    —————————–

I only have an issue with two calls. The first is the 2nd INT because it’s obvious that the ground helped him catch that ball, thus making it incomplete.

The 2nd call is the James Jones TD. Refs are instructed to call those kind if plays in the favor of TDs, because all scoring plays are automatically reviewed. If the ref sees something that CLEARLY indicates the WR was down, then call him down. JJ’s knees were always several inches off the ground until the ball crossed the plain, so if that ref saw them on the ground, he obviously has no business reffing.

  29. Bash the Pack all you want. 5-0 is all that matters this week. Offense was mediocre to bad, and the Defense was awesome. Together as a team it was more than enough to get the W. So please, go on with the insults, they mean nothing as the 5-0 Packers keep rolling.

Even thou he leads the league in 60+ TD Passes since he became the starter.

And that was with no running game/oline for most of those years against defenses playing the deep ball with Cover 2.

But yeah, he lives off of “Checkdowns”.

The last 5? The year the Packers won the Super Bowl they choked?

You’re aware that only one team wins the Super Bowl, right? Is every team that makes it to the playoffs and doesn’t win the Super Bowl a “choker”.

I guess the Wild choke every year since they make the playoffs and can’t win a Stanley Cup.

You’re a Viking fan. It’s probably a lot easier just to set your watch to the Vikings not making the postseason at all.

  50. Conor,

What you post may pass for witticisms in Minnesota, but in the sane world it’s nothing more than a bunch of sniveling nonsense. You’re actually one of the lesser witty amongst Viking trolls.

  51. Funny how the Viking troll can accurately state that Rodgers is the best active regular season QB (in fact, the best of all time, going by passer rating)…..but then he has to pretend that Rodgers “struggles in the playoffs….ignoring the fact that he’s also the best active PLAYOFF QB in the league too! (3rd all time, behind Bart Starr and Kurt Warner.)

Also funny how they have nothing else to do on their bye week than leave 20 comments on a Packers story. I guess people in the real world find them just as insufferable as we do.

    Sad…..

I disagree. Give examples. The INT’s? Reviewed and within the rules. The Packers TD? Reviewed and corrected. It was just a sloppy game by both offenses.

The age difference is the only thing that would make me consider that trade if I was a Pats fan. Rodgers is deadly in McCarthy’s system but Brady is deadly in Belichick’s system. I’m sure each would do well in the other’s system, and probably very well, but would either or both of them do AS well as they do in their current systems?

    It’s a very interesting “what if…”
