The Cowboys are staying busy on their bye week. The team has changed quarterbacks, added a running back and has worked out some notable free agents.

Among the group to recently work out for the team were defensive linemen Da’Quan Bowers and Kenrick Ellis, and running backs LaMichael James and Isaiah Pead.

Bowers, who can play inside and outside on the defensive line, has seven sacks in four seasons and has been on the workout circuit since the Bucs cut him at the end of the preseason. Pead, Ellis and Jerel Worthy, who also was on the Cowboys’ workout list, have also been on the circuit.

The Cowboys are probably looking at James as a return specialist. He was waived by the Dolphins last month and has not scored a touchdown in three NFL seasons. Pead recently worked out for the Patriots and Chiefs; he was cut by the Rams when Todd Gurley was cleared to debut.

The full list of participants in the workout also includes linebackers Darius Eubanks and Zaviar Gooden and defensive linemen Chuka Ndulue and Casey Walker.
