The Colts completed a busy day of roster moves by signing cornerback Tony Carter and adding quarterback Matt Blanchard to the practice squad.

Carter spent the last four seasons with the Broncos before being released last month. He has three career interceptions in 42 career games with the Broncos and Patriots.

The Colts cleared a roster spot for Carter earlier in the day when they released linebacker Amarlo Herrera and cornerback Shaun Prater and promoted safety Dewey McDonald from the practice squad.

Blanchard replaces Alex Tanney on the practice squad; Tanney was cut earlier in the day. With Andrew Luck back in the lineup, the Colts are back to carrying just two quarterbacks on the active roster and one to take the scout team reps in practice.

Blanchard was on the Browns’ practice squad earlier in the season.
