DeAndre Hopkins takes AFC offensive player of week honors

The Texans took a risk when they let the franchise’s all-time leading receiver go this offseason.

But DeAndre Hopkins is making it look like a justifiable decision.

Hopkins was named AFC offensive player of the week, after the latest in a string of big games for the third-year wideout.

Hopkins had 10 catches for 148 yards and two touchdowns against the Jaguars, and has 52 catches for 726 yards and five touchdowns already this season. In fact, since than being limited against the Panthers, he has four straight 100-yard games.

It’s worth mentioning that he’s doing this with Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett, and that kind of revolving door of mediocrity is something Andre Johnson can definitely sympathize with.
