The Minnesota Vikings placed defensive tackle Shamar Stephen on injured reserve on Wednesday after suffering a toe injury in Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
In his place, the Vikings signed defensive tackle Kenrick Eliis.
Stephen had knee surgery during training camp that kept him out for most of the preseason. He appeared in five games for the Vikings, recording three tackles and a fumble recovery.
Ellis appeared in one game with the New York Giants before being released earlier this month. Ellis has played in 47 career games, starting five, and has recorded one sack.
