Saints add two defensive backs, dump two receivers

AP

As the Saints get ready to try to slow down an Indianapolis passing attack with plenty of talented weapons, New Orleans has added a pair of defensive backs to the active roster.

Akeem Davis and Sammy Seamster were promoted from the practice squad. The moves were prompted by the fact that cornerback Keenan Lewis (hip, illness) and cornerback Damian Swann (concussion) are both out.

To create a pair of roster spots, the Saints have waived receiver T.J. Graham, and they terminated the contract of veteran receiver Joe Morgan (pictured).

The 2-4 Saints face the 3-3 Colts on Sunday, in a rematch of Super Bowl XLIV. The last time these teams met, the Saints won in New Orleans, 62-7.

62-7??!!? Did the Colts just run fake punts all game long?

No, worse, they had a quarterback named Curtis Painter starting.

  2. This game has the potential for the Colts to blow the boys out of the water. A road game with a shaky defense when healthy, let alone with their best corner out and another key contributor, against a team pissed that they’ve been the butt of the media all week for their blunder. Hope the Saints have a good game plan, becauae Luck might be finding his rhythm this week. Every other QB has

  3. @whodat101, whodat5150 basically concurs with your assessment. Hopefully, they’ll surprise (some of) us like last weekend. Geaux Saints!

  4. That thrashing is only the fourth equal biggest beating ever handed down. We also feature on the wrong side of that record- losing 62-7 to the Failcons back in the bad ol days.

Course the Falcons have had a 58/59 point loss which is probably the greatest margin ever
