The Vikings bumped running back Adrian Peterson to questionable on their injury report Saturday because of an illness, but PFT reported Saturday night that Peterson would be in the lineup against the Lions.
The Vikings confirmed it on Sunday morning when they turned in an inactive list that had seven names other than Peterson’s on it. Peterson, who was already on the injury report with a finger issue, is active and should be starting when the Vikings offense takes the field.
Peterson will be trying to bounce back from a poor game against the Chiefs last week. He ran 26 times for 60 yards and those numbers were buffered considerably by one 23-yard run that represented Peterson’s best moment of the day. He ran 29 times for 134 yards during a victory over the Lions in Minnesota earlier this season.
The Vikings announced that rookie wide receiver Stefon Diggs will be joining Peterson in the starting lineup. Diggs turned in two strong performances while Charles Johnson was out with a rib injury and the Vikings have made the decision to keep rolling with their fifth-round pick from this year.
