Adrian Peterson back at practice, ready to go Sunday

AP

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday this week with a variety of injuries, but he was back on the field on Friday and plans to be there on Sunday against the Bears as long as he can avoid any run-ins with shellfish.

Coach Mike Zimmer said that Peterson was “full-go and he’ll be ready to go Sunday” after being listed as probable with hip, finger and ankle injuries. Those issues may have kept him from practicing, but Peterson said this week that he thinks that’s just necessary maintenance at this point in the season.

“That’s part of the business. Your body gets beat up and you need days like [Wednesday and Thursday] to relax and recover and let your body rejuvenate. Let it rest,” Peterson said, via the team’s website.

While Peterson is good to go, the Vikings ruled out four players on Friday afternoon. Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, linebacker Audie Cole, defensive end Justin Trattou and tight end Rhett Ellison will all miss the game.

At least he can get to the line of scrimmage without having to stop and take a break, copyright Eddie Lacy.

    You first!

  3. Did anyone else think it odd the story where Norv Turner had to personally seek out Adrian and apologize for (apparently) for being the source of the chewing tobacco story? It’s almost like the coaches are afraid of him. Very weird.

Your “running” back can barely make i to the line of scrimmage before he faints from not eating, when he ate 10 minutes prior!

Carly, you need to think, or at least ask mommy before she types for you!

Do you want Peterson to break 200 yards again on your team…..done!

that’s because teams put 8 in the box to stop him.
That’s fine, because that is when the passing game opens up. Either way thats when the Vikings grind away at defenses with 12 and 14 play drives that
tire opposing Defenses out and break their Spirit!

I’m sure Eddie will be well enough to run roughshod over the Viking defense again.
Just like he has every time he’s strapped it up against them in the past.

In fact, I’m looking forward to it.

  7. I like your sad joke, but teams are run blitzing every single play he is on the field. That’s why Teddy is hitting so many passes. Receivers are wide open.

You have the 30th ranked Offense in the entire NFL.
That means there are only 2 teams with an Offense worse than yours.

Could you please explain, with more depth, how this is working for your team?

  11. Vikings’ fans should shut up until they beat a team with a winning record. Or maybe have a winning record over a season. Or maybe beat the lowly 49ers. Or maybe have more than one playoff game in the last 5 years. Or maybe have a QB who isn’t #30 in TD passes. Or maybe wait until beating better teams than the Chiefs, Lions (2X) and Chargers. Or maybe have some success over a sustained amount of time.

Vikings fans need to shut up and beat a team with a winning record. Hmm I would remind you they can only beat who is on their schedule. And that you haven’t played the beast competition yourselves. No winning record in your wins as well.Bears,Chiefs,Seahawks,Niners & Rams I will give you the Rams & Seahawks are better teams than the Vikings have faced but you also benefitted from playing the Seahawks without Kam.

Only a Viking fan would try to brag about a 4-2 record to a fan of a team that is 6-0….typical Viking fan.

  15. Teamnorsecore, I was actually just talking about your team’s offense, because that was the subject at hand.

I realize how proud you Heidis are of your 4-2 record and I don’t want to take anything away from that. Other than 6-0 > 4-2.

Again, Offensively your team is downright offensive.
I know, facts and stats suck and stuff.
Especially when it flies in the face of your purple delusions.

But, when you consider your quarterback is rated near the bottom of the league in passing and needs a high chair when throwing a Hail Marry pass, it’ll be tough to maintain your, head just above water, status
    skoLOL!

  17. Stellarperformance (I am assuming that is a name based purely in irony)

Nobody on this thread said the Vikings own the Packers. Viking fans are just poking fun at Lacy and his expanding waistline. As usual, a Packer fan doesn’t quite get it.

Oh Yeah, now I get it.
Though your points/game avg. only bumps you up to 26th in the league.

So….you see……not exactly the Juggernaut one would expect from your foot stomping proclamations.

If we look at Green Bay for example, they are 1st (Defense) and 5th (Offense) in points/game.

Oh, and to dumb things down for the rest of you, Frank Booth is actually a Bears fan.
And he’s honestly quite astute when it comes to matters of football.
You all could learn a few things by listening to him.

    But, of course, you wont.

When has Eddie ever run “roughshod” over the Vikings defense? His best ever is 125 yards.

In his four games against the Vikings, he’s totaled 434 yards.

In AP’s last 4 games against the Packers, he has 615 yards, including one for 210…

Now that is running roughshop over a team.

  20. stellarperformance says:

Well, that’s because except for the relatively recent history, they have.

The Vikings own the NFC North/Central Division, which the Packers belong to.

The Packers spent so much time looking up in the standings at the Vikings for all or parts of 4 decades that the inferiority complex is still showing.

The Packers have had a nice little run at the top of the division.

Yet they still trail the Vikings in both Division Championships and playoff appearances since the inception of divisional play.

  21. Typical packer logic.. did I really just read the GB has the #1 defense? I knew that couldn’t be right bc they gave up over 500 yards to one quarterback. So I checked nfl. Com, and sure enough, GB is ranked 15th in the NFL and the Vikes are ranked 7th in defense and they have played the same number of games.

First off, I’m not quite sure what roughshop is, but I digress.

I never said anything about Adrian Peterson.
Nor have I ever tried to compare the two.
I think Peterson’s an amazing RB, but I believe he’s garbage as a human being.
I think I’ve established my feelings about this over time.

I was merely responding to the constant criticism of Eddie Lacy.
As your fellow fans refer to him in the most disparaging terms.
Which I’ve always found odd by the fact that he’s always had such success over the Vikings in his short career.

Yes, in 4 games Lacy has racked up 434 yds. on the ground. (You don’t find that alarming?)
You leave out the facts that he’s 3-0-1 against them.
Eddie’s caught another 106 yds. through the air while collecting 6 Tds.

Those are pretty significant numbers from a fat, slow, overeating, garbage, busted draft pick RB.

Seriously looking forward to the first Viking beat down of our season. It’s going to be so satisfying.

  24. Ha! All you Green Bay Choker trolls have nothing to do until you CHOKE in the playoffs AGAIN…….

Unless your QB gets destroyed by that Denver D this weekend.

Then the tears will flow more freely than the Liquor did after you CHOKED the NFC championship game away.

Remember that? No team EVER choked that badly in any sport in HISTORY……

In case your booze filled weekends caused you to forget.

Thankfully, I’m here to remind all of you…with a smile on my face!

    ==================================
The Vikings’ are smart. They avoid choking in the playoffs by not making them.

Since they’ve blown 4 Super Bowls and the last 3 NFC Championship games, it’s better for them not to show up at all. They’ve made choking an art form.

Meanwhile, the Packers have won 2 Super Bowls and played in 3 in the last 20 years. One as recently as 2010. What have the Vikings done?

And all you have to hang your hat on is the Packers loss to the Seahawks in last year’s NFC Championship Game.

And that is sad. Since your team has had no success, all you can do is celebrate the loss of another team that made it as far as the NFC Championship game while your team didn’t even make the playoffs. That’s it. That’s all you have.

But Packer fans can take solace in their Super Bowl victories, their NFL Championships and their rich and long history. And also the fact that they have been pounding the crap out of the Vikings for the last 5 years.

Vikings lose on the field, while the Vikings’ fans lose off of the field. Again.
