As expected, Dolphins pass rusher Cameron Wake will miss the rest of the season.

Wake, who suffered a torn Achilles tendon on Thursday night, has been placed on injured reserve. The Dolphins announced the move today.

The 33-year-old Wake was off to a good start this season, with seven sacks in seven games. But he’ll have a tough time getting all the way back to full speed next year at age 34.

The Dolphins announced that offensive lineman Ulrick John has been signed off the Colts’ practice squad to take Wake’s place on the active roster.

  1. Will probably never play again. Putting together a ruptured Achilles is like gluing together hundreds of strands of spaghetti. Sad end to a career.

  2. How about rashad jones, Lamar Miller, Brent grimes, don sims to name a few. I don’t understand why people who are not dolphin fans take the time to comment with this statement. It’s like they live at home and order pizza delivered and just wait to pounce on a team that the hate. GET A LIFE!

  3. Nope this never happened or him getting to that above the rules QB. What can be interpreted from most posts from Pathetics fans on here.

    ____________

As a Pats fan, this is funny.

  5. In the early 90s for my job I lived in the Boston area and went to every game when my dolphins played. I still have pictures of me and my wife and friends with 15k empty seats. Everyone back then said Boston was a baseball and basketball town. Weird how winning changes a culture.

  6. As a Jets fan, I feel bad for Wake and Miami fans. He was a great player that always showed up to play. It’s a shame that it happened now… Since it appeared like the Dolphins were turning a corner under Dan Campbell. Achilles injuries are tough to come back from… Hopefully Wake continues his excellent career…til then, it’s next man up !

  7. I hope Cameron Wake is able to recover fully and be back next year. He was a monster up here in Canada, with the BC Lions. Best Wishes

  8. To bad about wake. Great player. The pats are the most physical team in the league. A lot of teams are going to be hurting after playing them.

  9. We all knew this Thursday night, how come it’s a surprise today?
it’s too bad, that’s a horrible injury and especially to someone like Wake. I hope he comes back next season. Good luck Cameron in your rehab, and thanks for the nice playing.

  10. Tough loss for sure, but Miami DL is deep and we have some nice young talent that now will have an opportunity to shine. Just looking for 8 wins this season.

  11. Della Street since you are a pats fan no dolphin fan cares about what you think. Our play and your play are totally different. We play by the rules. Your team cheats and wins. Congrats on your tainted victories.
    1972……get some

  12. In my business every time I hear someone tell me they are a Pats fan it reminds me to over charge them.

  13. Dear dbranch65
104 to 35 and 0-3 against the AFCE. That’s the points scored against Miami,104 and that’s the points Miami scored,35 against the 3 AFCE teams. That’s why people say what they say. Miami fans knock their last GM but their last GM signed most if the so called talent on the team. Oh. Grimes wife is an embarrassment to herself , her husband and the entire nfl. Lots if luck once Tannenbaum outs you guys in cap hell for the ” named ” players for the next decade. Miami Dolohins are a joke.

  14. Also to add to that Tannehill has been flogged at home , away and in a foreign country. Does not get much worse then that. All for a 100 mil contract. C’ mon man. Miami is the inky place fans give players a decade to work out. Miami is also the place players go to get huge contracts and dissapear with barrels full if money.

  15. It’s from my phone at least I speak reality bro. Dolphins would do great in the MAC Listen, honestly. Your team is really bad man. You can’t deny that. It’s sad really sad. I feel for you fans in South Florida. But I must say it’s a nice place for our away games in your stadium. No different the. A home game.

  16. I hope he makes it back (I’m not a Phins fan), but the more difficult to come back from than an ACL tear and he’s 33 now. I’m pullin for him, but odds are not in his favor.

  17. They thought Vince wilfork wasn’t gonna recover either boy was everyone wrong. …..

Great player huge heart see ya next year cam the games are much better with you in the line up.

  18. bitchside crawled out of his own hole. Time to disappear like the phins playoff hopes

  19. I think the more pressing question here is… what is going on to be causing all of these Achilles injuries… I’m like every other Sunday a star goes down with a torn Achilles tendon.. Is it the cleats, the grass, or the training, or is it not warmed up properly… Who knows… but what we do know is that a lot of productive elite players are suffering a torn Achilles tendon… Indeed…
