Dez Bryant goes on profane tirade after Cowboys’ loss

AP

Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant wasn’t happy after today’s loss to the Seahawks, and he lashed out at reporters in the Cowboys’ locker room.

In a profane tirade, Bryant yelled at a group of reporters that he wouldn’t talk to them after the game, and that they should leave him alone.

Stay the [expletive] away,” Bryant yelled to a group of reporters, via USA Today. “Why don’t you all get the [expletive] out of here? This is our [expletive] locker room. You [expletive] dirty [expletive].”

Bryant also used some profanities on Twitter after the game, upset that some people were saying he had taunted Seahawks receiver Ricardo Lockette as Lockett lay motionless on the field. Bryant says he was actually praying for Lockette.

Say this is some bulls–t,” Bryant wrote. “I got on one knee and prayed for lockette I would never in my f–king life do some s–t like that.”

Bryant is back for the Cowboys on the field, and back to being a hothead after the game is over.

  1. I’d be pissed at the media too if they took my prayers for another player’s welfare and spun them as me taunting a motionless player who could be paralyzed for life.

The media gets a lot of things wrong. See the last Republican Debate as a good example.

  2. Dez would never celebrate player injury I don’t think but he does seem a little upset that he isn’t as elite as he thought he was when he doesn’t have romo at QB

  3. At least he cares…People hate on him for showing emotion but I’d rather have a player who cares they his team lost the game then be like “it’s okay it’s a long season”. And he obviously wasn’t taunting Lockett.

  4. Not a Dez Bryant fan, but I applaud him for standing up to the drama seeking truth-twisting media. Of course, the media loves this, too… maybe even more.

  5. They shouldn’t be in the locker room. Especially females. They should sit in another room and wait for the players to get showered and dressed.

  6. If I were accused of taunting when I was actually praying, I’d go on a profanity-laced rant, too.

    Ok, no, I probably wouldn’t. But I wouldn’t be happy about it…

  7. What’s Jerry gonna say about this loss?
” Gee,I thought Matt threw the ball pretty well today ”
97 yard just won’t get it in this league Jerry boy.
Wish you more losses in your near future.

  8. Dez taunted Lockette immediately following the play then, after the seriousness was apparent he prayed. Go back and watch the broadcast. Its an emotional game.

  9. They should lock Dez Bryant and Greg Hardy in a room together and make them fight to the death, and then shoot the winner

  10. Greg Hardy counseled Dez Bryant to “simmer down”.

What a freaking train wreck this team is!

  11. I just not getting it why why why the cowboys are not using michael. Whats the purpose of having a back like him if you dont play him you know jason garrett is stupid michaels may break big runs that mcfadden cant but we will never know cause our so call coach won’t give him that chance and wonder why they are losing games. may be he will figure it out when we are out of the play off race

  12. @stampnhawk

Of course Dez was owned by Sherman. I mean, it only takes a # 1 WR to break his foot in order for Richard to have enough guts to go cover them the whole game.

I don’t recall Sherman covering Dez last season when he was 100%.

  13. Dez is Dez and I mean that in the best way possible. The media has some nerve to go and try to say he was taunting the Lockett injury. The media gets what they deserve. #88

  14. I dunno if he was taunting Lockette, I don’t think it was directed towards him specifically, but he was taunting someone from the Seahawks at a very inappropriate time. I guess he wanted to continue to his poor sportsmanship after the game too.

  15. The inmates continue to run the asylum in Big D and the mad scientist Dr. Jerrah has no answers. I despise Seahawks but was actually hoping they would beat da’ boys in Dallas.

  16. @saints

You forget Sherman had a disadvantage too with his Superbowl ring weighing him down.

I can see if Bryant was upset at the media if they accused him of taunting. As the article states through, and people here aren’t reading, is that those accusations are coming from Twitter and nothing to do with the reporters. Not that I am one to stand up for the media looking to stir the pot, but in this case Dez is getting upset at reporters who haven’t even opened their mouths.

  17. According to audio on the field Dez said to some of the Hawks players “He had what’s coming to him” Referring to Recardo. Weather true or not that is why the Seahawks cleared the bench and 72 was jacked up.

  18. Cornerstone star on a cornerstone team. Except the foundation is under a pool filth.

Jerah had the team passing when they were running over them. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. And this, ladies and germs, is why the Cowboys are America’s team? Between Hardy’s disregard for authority, Jerry Jones’ comment that Hardy is a leader and Dez Bryant’s mastery of profane language and outstanding control of his emotions, is why our country is doomed. These have to be signs of the apocalypse.

  20. I wont say Sherman owned Dez, when you have an inept QB like Cassel, well its kinda easy to play D. What a garbage QB, they may as well go back to Weedone. Shoot they wont win a game until Romo shows up.

  21. don’t you love how players who do the same things are treated differently. Hardy throws a tirade and is crushed, but this is just Dez being Dez. Suh doesn’t want to talk to reporters and only answers with “Next question”. But when Lynch does it, it is cute and a “Statement”….Double standards…..

  22. Richard Sherman completely dominated Dez today, like he always does. Epic, complete shutdown. Dez is so far away from Sherman’s level it’s laughable to watch him try to get open.

Your turn next Larry. Prepare to disappear.

  23. The Seahags were so good they played a crippled Dallas team and won by only 1 point. They got a break (Paul Allen pay the refs?) by having 12 men on the field and called 2 TO’s in a row and were not flagged when it would have given the Cowboys a 1st down deep in the red zone and a possible TD…so please spare me how good the Seahags are.

  24. saints12013 says:

I don’t recall Sherman covering Dez last season when he was 100%.
    ———————————————————-
Four catches for 64 insignificant yards. The only passes he caught in that game were when Sherman wasn’t on him. When he was, Dez disappeared. Just like today.

  25. There may be two or three teams that are fighting as the favorites of the super bowl……. but thats not nearly as exciting seeing the train wreck bowl and the amount of teams involved in that race.. yes it includes my Niners. I dont know who the favorite is this week Dallas? Niners? or Lions?………..bills and eagles had a bye week.

  26. And to think this is the guy who was trying to calm Greg Hardy down last week. Yikes.

The losing streak since Romo went down is getting to them. I think they needed 1-2 wins at least to stay afloat until he returns, looks like they may not get it. That loss to New Orleans was a killer, thought they would win that. They may be just too far gone when Romo gets back, and he may be a bit rusty, so no guarantees there anyway.

  27. It’s not up to Sherman who he covers. If your coach tells you to hit the bench, you hit the bench. If your coach tells you to line up exlusively on the left side, you do. Dan Quinn ran the defense that way last season which should explain why Sherman wasn’t on Dez the whole game then. Kris Richard has a different philosophy. Dez’ foot has no bearing on the decision to keep Sherm on him the entire time but it did hamper his ability to compete, none of which is Sherm’s fault. He just did his job.

  28. Where’s all the Cowboy fans that used to post comments all over the place taunting the rest of the NFC East? I don’t know what game you watched but Sherman had a great game and I can’t stand the guy. But it’s the truth. Get over the Dez is coming off injury thing he was on the field and got owned..PERIOD! Now he is acting like a big baby because he knows it. ENJOY THE CELLAR COWGIRLS!
    HTTR!

  29. I don’t recall Sherman covering Dez last season when he was 100%.

    ————

Then either you are brand new or you didn’t see the game. Same thing happened last year sorry look it up.

If you don’t recall why do you even post anything because you’re going to get called out when you’re wrong every single time. You should know what you’re talking about before posting around here.

Oh and yes he did taunt him before he realized Lockette was out cold and couldn’t hear his Taunts. Then and only then did he get down on me and pretend to start praying for him.

It’s all on film it’s not like he can lie about it we all saw it.

  30. Sehawkboymike you should have your parents look up the game for you on the net. Sherman did cover Dez last year and did make catches on him. If he would not of fallen he would have scored. So if you need your parents to log you in you should ask because the Internet is not to be seen by boys without parent consent. If you Seahawks fans are proud of a win like this you are in for a rude awakening.

  31. With Jason Garrett as head coach of the Cowboy’s you have a situation where the tail wags the dog. Garrett is not his own man, he took the job because he was willing to do Jerry Jones bidding, no questions asked, basically he’s a spineless twerp and the players know it.

  32. You may not have known how badly he was hurt when you taunted him; you may have indeed prayed for him after you realized he was unconscious, but you DID taunt him after the hit, while he WAS UNCONSCIOUS! Tape don’t lie.

Which is why, back in the day, players had enough respect for each other and themselves NOT to taunt.

Delusional and defiant and utterly unable to control your emotions= psychotic.

That said, reporters should ask questions in the media room, not the locker room. Get ’em out.

  33. Ya ok I can guarantee I’ve forgotten more about football than most of you phony Seattle fans will ever know.

I do know that Sherman was a 5th round pick and never covers number 1 WRs. Fact.

I do know old man Roddy White made him look foolish in a playoff game. Fact.

I do know T.Ym Hilton and Jarius Wright ate up Sherman all day. Fact.

  34. The only thing Sherman is good at is self promotion. You Seattle fans are either delusional or don’t know that much about football cause the 2 Safeties are what makes that secondary good.

Look at Byron Maxwell, Walter Thurmond, and Brandon Browner, they all left Seattle and are mediocre.

Same thing will happen to Sherman.

  35. It’s pretty funny to read all the Sherman hating comments, and that’s all I’m gonna say….

  36. Who was it ? Ahh yes Kenny Britt week 1 catching on Sherman. Cause his boy Chancellor wasn’t there to bail him out. Sherman the only guy who will shut out Jarrett Boykin and then have the nerve to talk after the game about how great he is. C’mon now Seahawks fans you guys can’t withstand my knowledgeable wrath.

  37. In nearly every case where someone says “I know more than you”, they usually don’t… An opinion

Sherman hasn’t been asked to follow #1’s until this year… Fact

The other corner last year was better than Cary Williams… so now Sherman is asked to follow the #1…. Fact

Roddy White burned another defender and Sherman was the help defender… Fact

TY Hilton got most of numbers because he ate up Browner… Fact

I usually stay out of the illogical conversations, but since you know so much, thought you’d want to learn just a little more

  38. For crying out loud the media is looking for drama. There were so many shots of Dez and Hardy on the sideline. They can’t wait for them to act out to feed you fools your ammo for moral outrage. Spare me.

And that officiating was HORRIBLE. The McFadden catch and fumble?? The clear picture of Wilson being down before the ball crossed goal line. The “blindside block” when the player was facing the Cowboy player and even lowered his head. And then the 12 men on the field/time out situation.

  39. Maybe Jerrah will give him another extension – seems like’s meeting the established criteria!

  40. For crying out loud the media is looking for drama. There were so many shots of Dez and Hardy on the sideline. They can’t wait for them to act out to feed you fools your ammo for moral outrage. Spare me.

    you mad bro?

  41. Dallas = No discipline, no class.

Hey Cowboy fans, ever notice how the culture Jerry Jones has created is the exact opposite of guys like Landry and Staubach? Ouch

Little guy, your name says it all…….

  43. To all you mouth-breathers defending this scumbag, it’s on tape. Dez talked trash after Lockette got hurt. Look it up.

  44. 20 Years from now, your stupid comments will be lost and forgotten.

Hope you feel better with all your garbage.

And let’s not forget, we won.

    Go hawks!

    you mad bro?

Look at you pulling a early 2000’s Internet meme. Were you even alive then or did mommy and daddy teach you that? But no Bro, I’m not mad.

  46. Funny how some are deeming this most recent tirade as nothing more than a demonstration of emotion & leadership. For those that are defending Dez Bryant, it’s time to put down the Plowboy Kool-Aid and get a dose of reality. This most recent tirade is nothing more than what it is. An act of an immature fool who is impervious to anything closely resembling mature leadership. Sure, blame the officials, is it their fault that Greg Hardy is a predator with no respect for authority? Or that the Plowboys are owned by a sycophantic owner who will do just about anything for a buck? Dez Bryant is the poster child for “America’s Team”. A loud mouth idiot who simply cannot resist the impulse to make a fool of himself before an audience of onlookers who simply can’t get enough.

  47. Although his passion is in the right place, his articulation is off base. We all understand his frustration but can’t relate because sometimes keep it to yourself and wait for the next game.

I wonder how mad Dez would get if he was all injured and playing for the Patriots and they lost ONE game lol. Remember the draft pick.. Coulda woulda.

  48. How do you go from praying to profanity in the same afternoon? Sounds like “Situational Christianity”.

Would guys like Bryant be less of a player if they dropped the drama? All the smack talk, antics and swagger are energy that could be redirected to better use.

All that said, the refs once again affected the outcome. These guys are flailing lately.

  49. Im no fan of either team. Im a Sherman hater, but man…he sure ate Dez’s lunch yesterday. That was complete ownage right there. Couldnt have played a better game.

And as for Dez…there is real time video of him saying “Thats what the **** he gets”, after people were already gathered around him, and Seahawks were already kneeling. He doesnt care about Lockette. He just didnt want to look like the jo he is.

  50. Welcome back Dez! Glad to see you didn’t miss a step. You’re still an a-hole! I’m sure your teammates are thrilled to have your wisdom and knowledge back!

  51. “Just like his mom taught him to talk.” Hey now. be nice to Dez. I bet he had a tough course schedule in school. Basket Weaving 101 takes a lot of dexterity, I bet it helped his hand eye coordination skills.
Oh yeah and another thing. Hey Jerry, How ’bout them Cowboys!?
He sure looked like he was taunting to me as well as to most people watching the game, including the announcers. I have never seen a player standing over a guy that’s down and pretty much almost screaming at him and be praying. Has anyone else? Maybe he belongs to one of those fire and brimstone type churches and was trying to SCREAM the devil and the Injury out of him.
This team already IS Imploding. If I was a Cowboys fan, I would not be making plans to buy any playoff tickets this year or even for a playoff watching party.
Your team is like my Bills. A lot of talk and not much to show for it plus, no QB. As long as you want a QB, how about another pick and this time you can have EJ Manuel. Lord knows we Bills fans (and likely the coaching staff as well) don’t want him.

  52. When Sherman was covering Hilton he was a # 2 or 3. Reggie Wayne was still the number 1. So there goes your argument. So I do in fact know more than you.

And when Roddy White scored that TD it was indeed on Sherman. Get some glasses buddy. Sherman was so embarrassed he got up clapping like a fool. So there you go now you just learnt a little more.

  53. Anyone still think Romo can come bsck and play at pre injury level? Dez isn’t playing at pre injury level which is the main reason Sherman shut him down unlike the last time they played and he was at his best. Frankly Dez may never be the same only time will tell but he may lose a step. Thats often the difference between making a play or not against a player like Sherman and other elite corners.
Might start early preparing for next year and try and improve coaching and team talent debth. If we back into a wild card slot consider ourselves lucky and pray the ball bounces our way that will be our only chance to hang around very long. I doubt that will happen.

  54. Dez had to play defense on a few of those badly thrown balls. He had a go route where he actually flew past Sherman that would’ve been an easy TD but Cassel severely underthrew it putting Sherman in great position. You can be the best WR but if your QB can’t throw it then well this is the result. Sherman and Dez always have good 1 v 1’s and they respect each other. Neither talk bad about one another in case anyone has missed that.

  55. All I hear is crickets from all these Pro- Sherman people. Bottom line is, is that if Romo is out there and Dez is healthy, 9 times out of 10 he’ll hand Richard his lunch.

  56. Once again, the media has no right to ask these players anything until they have showered, changed and entered the press conference room. There is not a larger class of self entitled folks on the planet than the sports media.

  57. I’m a diehard Skins fan but I have to admit I like this guy and I’m a fan. He’s a great wr and I admire his passion for the game. I’d take him on my Skins in a minute.

  58. @saints-

Reggie Wayne was still #1 in title only, like Baldwin on the Hawks. The biggest receiving threat the Colts had then, as now, is Hilton.

“Old man” Roddy White wasn’t that old then, over 1300 yds that season. Sherman acknowledged he’d been beat, a sign of humility, which detractors such as yourself refuse to admit he has a shred of. If all he’s good at is self promotion how did he get more picks at this stage of his career than Deion, Darrel Green or Revis?

You certainly are correct that 9 times out of 10 Dez would hand Sherman his lunch. And Richard would eat it.

  59. Whether Wayne was a # 1 in title or a true # 1, fact of the matter is he was their one.

And yes Old Man Roddy White dusted Sherman and Richard was so embarrassed he got up and clapped. That was awful.

And in a pass happy NFL when you have 2 great safeties and an elite pass rush helping you, you should have a lot of picks. I mean let’s face it, Sherman covers guys like Jarrett Boykin every game.

And let me correct myself, 9 times out of 10 Dez would give Sherman the business.

  60. “Old Man” Roddy White is younger than Reggie Wayne but somehow it’s a knock on Sherman for not shadowing Wayne the entire game, makes sense.

Good luck getting Dez and Romo on the field 10 games in row at this point, let alone 10 games against the Hawks. Romo’s duct tape and super glue won’t hold much longer and you can’t rely on the Brett Favre diet of narcotics forever.

None of this back-N-forth is even relevant any longer now that Sherman has been on #1’s more consistently. Where did A.J. Green go once Sherman was given the task of following him around? He became a non-factor. Like this discussion. 😉

  61. Ok let’s settle this Richard Sherman is as solid as a CB can be, but he is not the best. Honestly, as much as it pains me to say it, I think Josh Norman might hold that title now. That kid shuts people DOWN…..
